Una Sullivan’s anger finally subsided at her words. She walked over to Mika Sumrs, took her hand, and said happily, "It’s fine if you don’t work. Mika, you have no idea, your brother is so successful now. He’s earned so, so much money. From now on, don’t go out and work anymore. Just let your brother take care of you."
"Mhm, Mom’s right. I can certainly afford to support my little sister," Archie Sumrs said with a smile and a nod.
She refused without a second thought. "How could I..." ’My brother is getting married soon. How could I possibly let him support ? Besides, I wouldn’t have the nerve to let him take care of .’
Archie Sumrs affectionately ruffled her hair. "Why not? I’m your big brother. I should be the one taking care of you, even for the rest of your life."
Joseph Sumrs also spoke in a steady voice, "Your brother’s right, Mika. Just listen to him."
"Okay..." Seeing how insistent her parents and brother were, she could only agree for now, her voice choked with emotion.
After Tristan Grayson finished his call with Aiden Avery, he phoned Henry Archer. When he learned that the woman wasn’t at the restaurant, he drove straight back to Regalia Fields.
He got out of the car and frowned at the darkened house before him.
’Hasn’t she co ho yet? She’s getting bolder and bolder. Now she even dares to stay out all night.’
He went back inside but didn’t turn on the lights, sitting right down on the sofa. He held his phone, glaring at the ti on the screen.
’It’s almost 8:00. She’d better be back by then, or I’ll make her understand the consequences of not coming ho.’
Tristan Grayson ended up staring like that for two whole hours.
His initial anger had now completely given way to worry.
’That woman’s luggage is gone. It’s obvious she was prepared to leave at a mont’s notice.’
’Could it be? Did she take the opportunity to run away while I was gone?’
He opened his contacts and called Sheldon Rhodes, ordering him to find that woman imdiately.
He tossed his phone aside, lay down wearily on the sofa, and closed his eyes to rest.
But as soon as he closed his eyes, all he could think of was that woman.
He pictured them at the mall earlier today, buying clothes. He pictured them kissing.
He clenched his fists in anger and slamd them heavily onto the sofa. ’What kind of spell has that woman cast on ? Why is it that now, whenever I have a quiet mont, whenever I close my eyes, all I can think about is her?’
"If you’ve got the guts, then don’t ever co back!" ’If I find her, just you watch how I’ll punish her.’
He turned over in frustration, hugging a throw pillow and trying to sleep, but a faint, fresh scent—her scent—wafted into his nostrils. The fire inside him flared even more uncontrollably.
’It seems I’m in no mood to sleep until I find that woman tonight.’
He shot up from the sofa, grabbed his phone, and stord out, slamming the door behind him.
After leaving the house, he got in his car and drove aimlessly.
Sohow, without realizing it, he found himself at the restaurant he had visited with her earlier that day.
Having not eaten all day, he was hungry now too.
So, he pulled the car over, parked, and went straight into the restaurant.
As soon as the lady saw it was the handso young man from earlier, her eyes crinkled into a smile. "Oh, it’s you, sir! What’s this? You didn’t bring your girlfriend along?" As she spoke, the lady even glanced behind Tristan Grayson.
Tristan Grayson forced a smile, but his tone was still cold and clipped. "No."
"Oh, is that so. Would you like sothing to eat?" The smile didn’t leave the lady’s face. She just had a soft spot for handso n and beautiful won—no other particular hobbies, she just found them easy on the eyes. That was why an eye-catching couple like Tristan Grayson and Mika Sumrs had stuck in her mory.
