Fourth period was Chinese class, and a docuntary was playing in the classroom.
A few people looked up to watch, but most were doing their howork while listening, occasionally glancing at the screen.
The note was passed by Zhang Ningzhi, and it read.
"Who are you sitting with tonight?"
Jiang Nian thought for a mont and quickly wrote two words.
"A classmate."
Zhang Ningzhi glanced at it and was speechless.
"Don’t scribble nonsense!"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Nian wrote down an even more outrageous na.
"Nie Qiqi."
Zhang Ningzhi leaned over, took a quick look at the paper, and instantly puffed up with slight dissatisfaction.
As expected, their relationship wasn’t ordinary.
She tore a new piece of paper and started a new conversation.
"You two are so close, no wonder last ti...."
Jiang Nian received the note, and the more he read, the harder it was to hold back his laughter. He couldn’t tell if it was the magic of the "letter paper" or Zhizhi’s jealousy at work.
Nie Qiqi, huh, that Aluminum Copper.
Sitting together with her wasn’t going to happen, even using your feet to think. Yet Zhizhi believed it and could write a paragraph about it.
He thought for a mont and wrote another sentence.
"It’s not Nie Qiqi, I’ll sit with the class monitor."
Zhang Ningzhi ignored him, snatched the paper away with a huff, glanced at him, then turned away humming in irritation.
Zhizhi was adorably cute.
At this mont, microphone testing sounds whooshed from outside the window, and the stage for the New Year’s Eve event was already set up on the sports field.
"Hello? Hello, hello!!"
"Can you hear ?"
A few seconds later, the accompanint of "Blue Lotus" started booming, then got cut off to switch to an acapella version.
Everyone in the class suddenly beca restless, no longer focused on the docuntary, their attention drawn outside the window.
"Whoa, are they rehearsing?"
"What kind of singing is that? Not as good as on a pole."
"Do you know how to sing as a diva?"
Seizing the mont while Zhizhi was sulking, Jiang Nian wrote a note to Li Hua.
"I am your dad."
Li Hua looked at it, first stunned, then crumpled the paper into a ball and tossed it into the trash can at the front row.
"Chi Shi!"
Alright then, it seems the "letter paper" can only boost credibility. It’s not a hypnotic paper; if the written content is too absurd, it won’t work.
He pondered for a while and wrote on another piece of paper.
"Soone confessed to yesterday."
After reading it, Li Hua burst out with a sharp shout.
"Who! Who’s blind?"
It seems this is how it works: as long as the person has a preconception, the letter paper’s content will guide them.
Hmm, a holy grail of advertising.
Crap, is destiny hinting that I should work in advertising? But no, I can’t handwrite every flyer.
Work in sales, public relations?
Jiang Nian pondered for a long ti, realizing that this skill could have made him live off of others in the past.
In the old days, with slow horses and carriages, one could deceive many people in a lifeti.
Sending pen pal letters one by one, dabbing water to mimic tear stains. With this skill, you’d have moved a group of literary young won.
Ti to end the fantasy and face reality.
He spent a few minutes writing a small apology note and handed it to the still sulking Zhang Ningzhi, which had a notable effect.
"Hmph!" Zhang Ningzhi glanced at him, looking not completely mollified but no longer sulking.
Jiang Nian pondered thoughtfully, gaining a rough understanding of the capabilities of the "letter paper."
Apologies appeared sincere, love letters seed passionate. Requests appeared earnest, and repentance seed genuine. Simply put, it was a buff to attributes.
Suddenly, a thought popped into his mind.
Why not try writing a love letter to the class monitor and see the reaction? Also, test the limits of the letter paper skill.
Just as he picked up the pen, Zhang Ningzhi looked over.
Uh, never mind.
Zhang Ningzhi saw him being sneaky and beca even less happy. Always picking on her, this infuriating guy!
The girl’s heart was always poetic.
She looked at the newly written notes, glanced at Jiang Nian out the corner of her eye, then nonchalantly put them away.
...
After school at noon.
Sun Zhicheng hurriedly left the classroom, frowning slightly. He was going ho to figure out how much money to invest next ti he opened his store with one click.
Most of the class was in a good mood since they could have fun at night. No evening self-study, but there was howork.
Thus, the number of people staying in the classroom for a nap increased at noon.
Jiang Nian returned after eating and found a few new faces in the classroom.
Before noon break, he and Chen Yunyun were chatting outside the hallway, because they’d heard that sitting a lot is bad for your health and affects down there.
Of course, affecting the noodles down there isn’t good either.
He preferred eating noodles.
So people who have reached the limits of being imperial might say dumpling skin. Those who say that should pay for ntal damage compensation.
"Do you have any plans for tonight?" Chen Yunyun’s rosy lips opened slightly.
He sniffed and couldn’t help but marvel at how different it felt to have a girl nearby, even the air seed sweetly fragrant.
The girl stood there, and the fragrance emanated.
"Honestly, just going to watch the evening show." Jiang Nian leaned lazily on the railing and asked, "Why?"
Hearing this, Chen Yunyun responded with an "Oh."
"Did you buy snacks?"
"Not fond of eating."
Chen Yunyun said, "Yuhe and I will head to the supermarket this afternoon, planning to buy yours as well."
Jiang Nian thought for a mont and imdiately changed his tune.
"Buy so spicy strips."
Chen Yunyun: ".... Eat more fruit."
Jiang Nian: "...."
Wang Yuhe popped up from the other end of the classroom door, strolled over to the two, and glanced at Jiang Nian.
"Can you sing?"
Jiang Nian looked at Wang Yuhe, pondered for a mont, and said.
"I can."
"Really?" Wang Yuhe looked at him, then asked again, "How do you compare to the one who sang Blue Lotus at noon?"
"I’m definitely better, not making my debut is a loss to the Chinese music industry." Jiang Nian boasted shalessly.
"Next ti, I’ll take you to karaoke to show you what a good voice is."
"Really?" Wang Yuhe’s eyes lit up but quickly caught on, "Hmph, I’m definitely better than you."
"That’s debatable, who knows who will be better after drinking?" Jiang Nian laughed mischievously, as if inviting a challenge.
In reality, he was just joking; he was tone-deaf.
But that’s not really a flaw; singing is a skill rarely used. Even if you sing well, it’s just pleasant to hear.
The things that truly touch people’s hearts are looks and a bank card.
"Great!" Wang Yuhe nodded vigorously.
The afternoon classes flew by, and finally, the school’s New Year’s Eve gala arrived, bringing unprecedented festivity to the classroom.
"When does it start?"
"Around six, I think it goes until... nine?"
"Chi Shi’s here. I’ll leave after watching the dancing." Li Hua vowed, "Trashy gala, I don’t even want to watch."
"If they really didn’t let you go, you’d be unhappy again." Liu Yang sneered.
Ma Guojun glanced at Liu Yang and suddenly felt sothing was off.
"Why are you dressed so flashy today?"
Liu Yang grinned; it was the perfect opportunity for him to show off, which he’d been hoping for.
"Ah, a purely platonic junior asked for so advice."
"You bastard!" Ma Guojun imdiately stopped joking.
"Chi Shi’s here, another one chasing juniors." Li Hua sneered, "Disgusting, you make feel sick!"
"Again?" Liu Yang was montarily confused.
Jiang Nian walked over just then, carrying a bag of fruit. He also had two boxes of cut fruit in red, white, and green.
"Hey guys, everyone here?"
Li Hua pointed at him, "He’s another junior-chasing bastard. You two should pair up."
"First-year." Ma Guojun didn’t stay silent, adding, "And she’s very pretty, she even pursued Jiang Nian first."
Hearing this, Liu Yang was shocked but remained unconvinced.
"Really?"
"Don’t listen to their nonsense, my relationship with the junior is purely platonic." Jiang Nian divided the fruit without holding back.
Upon hearing this, Liu Yang made a strange face. Jiang Nian’s words sounded so familiar; hadn’t he just said that?
Unwilling to accept this turnaround, he changed the subject.
"Nian, why did you buy so much fruit?"
"Oh, I didn’t buy it." Jiang Nian opened a box of fruit and used a fork to pick up a piece of cantaloupe, "It was given by a girl."
Liu Yang: "...."
I was foolish to ask.
...
Outside the school.
Chen Yunyun and Wang Yuhe ca out of a snack shop, having gone supermarket shopping in the afternoon and finally eating a bit before six.
Night fell, and the streetlights glowed dimly.
Wang Yuhe was holding a small box of fried potatoes, and after walking a few steps, she t eyes with a dog on the roadside.
"Woof woof!!" The dog imdiately chased after her.
Wang Yuhe scread in fright, running around a roadside tree. She protected her fried potatoes while crying out.
"Yunyun, help !"
Chen Yunyun stood there dumbfounded, unsure what was happening.
"Huh? Maybe... put the potatoes down; it might have slled them, and it won’t chase you anymore if you do."
"No way!" Wang Yuhe stubbornly said, "These are my potatoes. If it wants to eat, it should buy its own!"
Chen Yunyun: "...."
For a mont, she didn’t know what to say, torn between concern and laughter.
Suddenly, there was a slap.
The fried potatoes in Wang Yuhe’s hand fell to the ground. She stopped imdiately, turning to the dog with anger.
"Are you satisfied now?"
The dog was also stunned, stood still wagging its tail, and then turned around and left.
Apparently, it was very satisfied.
Wang Yuhe whimpered, and Chen Yunyun went to comfort her. She took a picture and sent it to soone in the classroom.
Jiang Nian sent twelve "hahaha"s in return and then imdiately called.
"That’s so funny, how can soone be so silly?"
Chen Yunyun: "Don’t say that."
Wang Yuhe ca over angrily and said to the phone.
"I can hear you!"
"Hahaha, I bet the dog found scaring you entertaining." Jiang Nian laughed sarcastically.
"You you you!!!" Wang Yuhe was almost furious.
"Buy another one, I’ll treat you." Jiang Nian said, "And bring two, I’ve sent the red envelope to your small group."
Wang Yuhe: "No way!"
The next second, Jiang Nian’s puzzled voice sounded.
"I wasn’t talking to you. I ant Chen Yunyun, if you want to eat, you’ll pay yourself."
"You!!"
Jiang Nian hung up and quickly sent two red packets to the small group. To keep enjoying benefits, it’s important to give and take.
A cold figure approached from the end of the corridor.
