Hearing Liu Ergou's praise, Ning Hua couldn't help but feel a swell of pride.
"Heh heh, I'm just so-so!" she said smugly. "I just ran around the mountains a lot as a child, so finding a river is no big deal."
After saying this, she suddenly turned to Liu Ergou. "Alright, Liu Ergou, that's enough! We've found the river, so shouldn't you make yourself scarce?"
Liu Ergou was a bit slow to react, looking at Ning Hua with a puzzled expression. He asked, "Wait, Senior Sister, why should I leave? I don't think I've done anything to upset you on the way here! You're going a little too far, don't you think? There should be a limit to how you bully !"
Ning Hua rolled her eyes dramatically. "Bully you, my ass! Going too far? Don't be ridiculous!" she snapped. "Liu Ergou, are you dense?
"I need to take a bath! You're a guy, so you need to step aside for a bit. Or what, were you planning to stand there and stare while I bathe? Seriously, you're not my boyfriend. Do you really think that's appropriate?"
Her words finally made Liu Ergou understand. He patted his forehead in embarrassnt.
"Ahem, my mistake, Senior Sister! I forgot you needed to bathe!"
With an apologetic look, Liu Ergou walked away, and his figure soon vanished from Ning Hua's sight.
However, Ning Hua didn't seem to be in any rush to get in the water. Instead, she shouted toward the bushes, "I'm warning you, Liu Ergou, don't even think about peeping on ! If you try to peek, I'll definitely find out! And if I catch you, your good days are over! I will absolutely break your bones, believe it or not!"
Sitting in the bushes, Liu Ergou imdiately shouted back, "Senior Sister, what kind of person do you take for! I, Liu Ergou, might be a bit lecherous, but I'd never stoop to peeping on soone bathing! Just go ahead and bathe in peace!"
After hearing his response, Ning Hua simply snorted coldly. A mont later, Liu Ergou heard a rustling sound. Unsurprisingly, it had to be Ning Hua taking off her clothes, preparing to bathe.
Liu Ergou wasn't mistaken.
A few minutes later, a loud SPLASH! ca from Ning Hua's direction. He could tell it was the sound of soone jumping into the water. The sound made Liu Ergou's heart itch with curiosity. He desperately wanted to see what Ning Hua was doing, but in the end, he restrained himself.
Peeping on a woman while she bathes is indecent enough, but getting caught would be humiliating beyond belief. I can only imagine how Ning Hua would mock forever after!
He warned himself sternly.
Liu Ergou, Liu Ergou, get a grip. It's just a woman bathing. It's not like you haven't seen it before! Besides, you've bathed with plenty of beautiful won. It's only Ning Hua; she's not worth getting so worked up over!
After repeating this mantra three tis, Liu Ergou finally managed to calm down. He stood up and walked downstream.
Soon, he reached a spot further down the river. He stripped off his clothes and dove straight in. The mont the cool water enveloped him, Liu Ergou couldn't help but shout, "So refreshing!"
With another powerful dive, he began to swim freely in the river. He hadn't had such a leisurely swim since he'd gotten so busy. Of course, the timing had never been right before, and the river had often been too cold.
As he pondered, Liu Ergou floated to the surface, found a comfortable, shallow spot near the bank, and lay back. The flowing water rushed over his body, and he couldn't help but close his eyes. Within minutes, he began to feel drowsy.
Just as he was about to drift off to sleep, a sharp scream suddenly pierced the air from Ning Hua's direction.
"AAAH!"
The scream instantly jolted Liu Ergou awake. He was dazed for a mont before his mind cleared. That had to be Ning Hua; sothing must have happened to her. Without a second's hesitation, Liu Ergou shot to his feet and sprinted toward her location. After just a few steps, he felt that sothing wasn't quite right, though he couldn't pinpoint what it was. But there was no ti to dwell on it; finding out what happened to Ning Hua was the priority!
In the blink of an eye, Liu Ergou arrived at the spot where Ning Hua was bathing.
"Senior Sister! Senior Sister!" Liu Ergou shouted. "I heard a scream! What happened? Is everything okay?"
However, Ning Hua did not respond. The only reply was a dead silence.
This made Liu Ergou instantly realize that Ning Hua was really in trouble. But he couldn't understand how. Ning Hua was an expert in the later stage of dark energy; it seed impossible for anyone in this village to harm her.
But now was not the ti for questions. Liu Ergou rushed closer.
He saw Ning Hua lying in the water, with only her beautiful face visible above the surface. Her complexion had a dark, blackish tint. Liu Ergou imdiately realized she must have been poisoned.
With this thought, he no longer cared that she was bathing and hurried into the water. Upon reaching her side, he saw it clearly: on her inner thigh were two small puncture wounds from which black blood was slowly oozing.
Liu Ergou imdiately recognized the signs. She had been bitten by a water snake.
After a brief hesitation, Liu Ergou stepped forward, lifted the naked Ning Hua into his arms, and started walking toward the shore.
As their skin touched, a jolt of desire shot through him. He had to admit, Ning Hua's skin was exceptionally soft and smooth, even more so than that of his other girlfriends. Moreover, because she practiced martial arts, her waist was incredibly slender, yet firm and supple. He couldn't resist letting his hands linger for a mont.
However, he imdiately ca to his senses. The situation was urgent; how could he be thinking about such lewd things?
Scolding himself internally, Liu Ergou carried Ning Hua to the bank and gently laid her down beneath a large tree. He imdiately bent down to examine her injuries. Looking at the two venomous fang marks on her inner thigh, Liu Ergou could only shake his head in exasperation.
