Why do all these venomous creatures love to bite this exact spot? I've really had enough.
Last ti, when I was out with Hui Hui, the most venomous snake in Fengzhu Village bit right here. This ti, I'm out with Ning Hua, and she gets bitten in the very sa spot. Do the poisonous snakes in my village have so kind of special preference?
The more Liu Ergou thought about it, the more plausible it seed. But now wasn't the ti for such thoughts; the priority was to detoxify Ning Hua. The problem was, he had been in special training for the last few days and hadn't brought his silver needles with him.
There was only one way to save Ning Hua. He had to suck out the poison. It was the only option he had right now.
Seeing Ning Hua's complexion worsen, Liu Ergou couldn't help but shake his head. "And here I thought you were a master of hidden strength," he said with a sigh of helplessness. "How does a master get bitten by a common water snake? I've really had enough!"
With a look of grim determination, Liu Ergou steeled himself and began to suck the venom from the wound on Ning Hua's leg.
He sucked on the wound dozens of tis until fresh blood finally began to flow. Only then did Liu Ergou let out a long sigh of relief. He quickly found a few herbs nearby, chewed them into a paste, and applied the poultice to her wound.
Thanks to Liu Ergou's efforts, the unconscious Ning Hua gradually began to stir.
Seeing her wake up, Liu Ergou imdiately leaned in. "Senior Sister, how are you? Do you feel unwell anywhere?" he asked anxiously. "If you feel sick, you have to tell right away. We can't delay! This could be a matter of life or death!"
Still a bit dazed, Ning Hua snapped to her senses at his words. Her eyes fell on the stark-naked Liu Ergou, and she froze. Then, without the slightest hesitation, she swung her hand and delivered a fierce slap across his face.
Instinctively, Ning Hua had infused the slap with a sliver of her hidden strength.
The impact was imdiate. Liu Ergou's face swelled up at a visible rate, puffing up like a large stead bun in the blink of an eye.
Liu Ergou was completely dumbfounded by the sudden attack. I saved her life, so why did I just get slapped? he wondered, utterly baffled.
As he stood there in confusion, a furious Ning Hua spat, "Liu Ergou, I wasn't wrong about you! You're nothing but a shaless scoundrel!"
"You tried to take advantage of ! You even stripped off all your clothes! If I hadn't reacted so quickly, you might have actually succeeded! I won't let you get away with this!"
With that, Ning Hua tried to scramble up from the ground to unleash her Flying Swallow Piercing Heart Kick on him. But as soon as she tried to stand, her legs felt weak, and she collapsed back onto the ground.
Even then, Ning Hua didn't understand what was happening, blaming her current state entirely on Liu Ergou.
"Well done, Liu Ergou!" she seethed. "I can't believe you even drugged . I really underestimated you; you're more ticulous than I thought!"
"Just you wait. Unless you kill to silence today, I'll tell Master everything when I get back! I'll let him see you for who you really are!"
At last, Liu Ergou understood. She thought he had drugged her, and that was why she was so weak. The realization sent a wave of indignation through him.
It's not like I expect a reward for doing a good deed, but the least she could do is not falsely accuse . She didn't even bother to find out what happened and just called a pervert. No one could accept that.
Liu Ergou stood up, his voice cold. "Ning Hua, you think way too highly of yourself. You may be good-looking, but I, Liu Ergou, am not the kind of guy who gets weak in the knees just because he sees a pretty woman!"
"You were bitten by a water snake and scread, that's why I ca over. I just saved your life, and now you turn around and fra !"
"Fine! If that's how it's going to be, I'm done with this. Once you're better, you can get out of here on your own!"
Without another mont's hesitation, Liu Ergou turned and walked toward his discarded clothes, leaving a stunned Ning Hua by the river.
Only after his back had disappeared from view did Ning Hua finally snap out of her daze. She quickly looked down at her inner thigh and saw the poultice of chewed-up herbs. Removing it, she found two small, distinct puncture marks on her skin.
It was only then that she rembered what happened before she passed out.
I was happily bathing, splashing around in the water. Suddenly, I felt a chill on my thigh. Out of curiosity, I reached down, and my hand closed around sothing. Then, a sharp pain shot through my leg. I let out an instinctive scream, and then everything went black. That must have been the water snake. I must have startled it, and that's why it bit . And Liu Ergou... he was the one who saved .
At that thought, Ning Hua was overwheld with sha. He saved my life, and not only did I not thank him, I slapped him. Anyone would be furious. If he had a worse temper, he probably would have hit back. But he didn't. He just left.
In that instant, her opinion of Liu Ergou changed completely. In her heart, he was no longer a scoundrel but a noble physician with high ethics. Thinking of the slap she had given him, Ning Hua was so ashad she could barely speak.
She moved her limbs and found her strength was returning. She quickly grabbed her clothes from the riverbank, threw them on, and chased after him.
Liu Ergou had just finished dressing and was about to leave the riverbank when he heard her shouting.
"Er Gou! Er Gou, wait!"
"I was wrong earlier! It was my fault, I'm so sorry!"
"I shouldn't have slapped you without finding out the truth. Please, can you forgive ?"
Hearing her apology, Liu Ergou couldn't be bothered to even look at her. She can curse , she can even hit , but I can't stand being falsely accused. Once that happens, it's almost impossible to clear your na.
Without the slightest hesitation, Liu Ergou strode off towards the foot of the mountain.
When Ning Hua saw that he didn't even pause at the sound of her voice and just kept walking, she began to panic.
In all the ti I've known him, Liu Ergou has always been smiling and cheerful. I've never seen him angry. But today, he's a different person. His face is so dark. He must be truly angry.
