Theodore Lucas fears Sylvia Scott, but he does not fear Emily Taylor.

Emily spread out the death certificate and handed it to Albert Lucas.
Albert, his hands trembling, took it and looked at Theodore, then at the others present.
“It counts. Of course it counts…” This was a death certificate personally arranged by Mr. Lucas, the cousin he most respected and feared.
Even the official record was an order issued by Mr. Lucas back then.
No matter how much Albert favored Theodore, he dared not question the old man’s decisions.
“Uncle… how could you…” Theodore Lucas was in disbelief.
He had already discussed everything with his uncle and couldn’t understand why his uncle was now siding with Emily Taylor.
In truth, Albert wasn’t a fool either.
He could help Theodore, but every favor had its limits.
Helping was one thing, but not at the cost of his own interests.
Albert understood that if today he truly denied Mr. Lucas’s arrangents on Theodore’s behalf,
then tomorrow, he could guarantee soone new would imdiately rise to challenge his authority.
Though Albert might be old and muddled, he was clearheaded when it ca to his own interests.
He could see that Theodore was trying to secretly consolidate power, saving a trump card for the mont when his entire family’s nas were added to the family tree, using it to attack Aidan Lucas.
By then, the position of head of the Lucas family would easily fall into Theodore’s hands.
Unfortunately, Albert was unwilling to be Theodore’s pawn.
“Theodore, this death certificate is indeed real. Even the civil records indicate that Emily’s marital status is widowed. Here’s what I think… since there has already been a mistake in the registry, let’s leave it as it is.”
“Aidan has done nothing wrong and has been a fine head of the family. He should continue in this role. As for you, just stay in B City, live a good life with your wife and kids there.”
Albert didn’t want Theodore to profit from this situation by reaping the rewards without effort; he intended to force Theodore to play his trump card now.
Sure enough, Theodore imdiately understood Albert’s plan.
He cursed the old fox under his breath.
But after a mont’s thought, since it eventually had to co to this, now seed as good a ti as any to reveal everything.
Theodore’s cold, predatory gaze swept past Emily Taylor, landing on Aidan Lucas. He sneered, “You ungrateful son, don’t think your luck will last a lifeti. Let tell you, this ti, your grandpa isn’t here to save you.”
After speaking, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a voice recorder.
“Ladies and gentlen, my return this ti isn’t just for myself—it’s for the Lucas family’s century-old legacy. A family with a hundred years of history like ours cannot fall into the hands of a lunatic.”
“As a father, it’s my duty to put righteousness before family loyalty. I must reveal a secret that’s been buried for years: Aidan Lucas… has a severe ntal illness. Soone like him will one day drag the entire Lucas family to its ruin!”
