Chapter 1693: Chapter 1696 Tania Scott Has an Accident
Five days later.
The family eting was just the day after tomorrow, yet there was still no news from Uncle at the Azure Dragon Temple, no updates from Tania Scott, and even Professor Marlowe had remained silent.
The closer the eting got, the more anxious Lily beca, as if an inexplicable sense of unease was overtaking her.
Sylvia Scott had already told Larry Scott about Tania’s situation. Larry had personally called Theodore Lucas, requesting to take Tania back to ensure her pregnancy was safe.
Theodore naturally took Larry’s call seriously.
If Tania decided to leave now, no one would dare to openly stop her.
But, oddly enough, Tania had stated over the phone that she wanted to stay in A City to await the birth of her child near Nolan Lucas.
Her voice didn’t sound coerced; in fact, it was clear she couldn’t swallow her pride.
Her decision to stay was plainly for revenge.
Yet, five days had passed, and Lily’s team monitoring the listening device had heard nothing unusual.
This indicated that Tania hadn’t found an opportune mont to act.
“Mom, why don’t you go check on Tania? If it doesn’t work out, bring Winston’s n with you and say it’s Uncle’s request. Take her away directly.”
The longer the situation dragged on, the more anxious Lily beca.
Especially today, that unsettling feeling was stronger than ever. She feared Tania might end up in trouble.
“Alright, Lily, stop pacing back and forth… Mom will go now…”
Before Sylvia could finish her sentence, her cell phone suddenly rang urgently.
The caller ID was familiar—it was Tania’s number.
“Hello…”
“Is this Sylvia Scott?” The woman’s voice on the other end was familiar, but it wasn’t Tania.
Sylvia’s almond-shaped eyes narrowed as she turned on the speaker. “Yes, this is she… who are you?”
“I’m Tara Hammond.”
Tara Hammond?!
Lily and Sylvia exchanged a sharp glance.
If Tania’s phone had ended up in Tara’s hands, then what about Tania…
Thankfully, in the next second, Tara’s tone beca far more polite than before. “Mrs. Redington, please don’t hang up out of impatience. I know you don’t like , but at least Tania is your niece. You have to help her.”
Sylvia’s facial expression darkened. “What happened to Tania?”
“Tania slipped on the stairs and fell. She’s in the hospital now, undergoing ergency treatnt.” Tara’s voice was laced with distress, as if she were beside herself with worry.
“The doctors here are saying that only experts from your Reddington dical Center can save the child. Mrs. Redington, you absolutely have to—”
Sylvia impatiently cut her off. “Where are you now? I’ll send soone over imdiately.”
Tara provided the address, and Sylvia swiftly ended the call to contact her team.
She was on the phone as she strode out with Lily.
Mr. Lucas happened to walk in from outside at that mont.
Seeing Lily’s hurried steps and pale face, he stopped her and asked, “What happened?”
“Tania’s had an accident. She fell on the stairs and is undergoing ergency treatnt at the hospital…”
Hearing this, Mr. Lucas’s expression darkened as well.
Lily had already inford him about Tania’s situation. This accident could very well an their listening device had been discovered.
“I’ll go with you…” Without hesitation, Mr. Lucas scooped Lily up in his arms and carried her directly to the car.
“There’s no way this was purely accidental,” Sylvia muttered in displeasure. “Sothing is definitely off about this!”
No matter how much trouble Tania had caused in the past, she was still her niece. When it ca down to critical monts, Sylvia would naturally be protective.
Lily couldn’t help but feel guilty at this point. If only she hadn’t given Tania that listening device in the first place…
She couldn’t shake the fear that Tania’s fall had sothing to do with Tara discovering sothing she shouldn’t have.
“Once this matter is resolved, bring Tania back ho…” Lily thought for a mont and said, “She can’t stay with Nolan Lucas anymore…”
Before she could finish speaking, her cell phone rang again.
