Chapter 1692: Chapter 1695: If All Else Fails, Return to Europe and Be a Duke’s Son-in-law
Over an hour later, Tania Scott walked out of the Lucas family’s old manor.
The driver saw her and imdiately called Tara Hammond. “Madam, she’s co out.”
“Hmm, what kind of expression does she have on her face?”
The driver squinted into the distance. “She seems to look really angry.”
Hearing this, a trace of doubt eased in Tara’s heart. She coolly instructed, “Alright, drive slower later and be careful on the road.”
In Tania Scott’s belly was the most critical bargaining chip for Nolan Lucas to fight for the inheritance.
“Yes, Madam.”
The driver hung up the phone just as Tania approached. He got out of the car to open the door for her, and the car drove away, disappearing quickly.
From the second floor of the mansion, watching the disappearing taillights, Lily remarked thoughtfully, “I never thought Tania would willingly bow her head…”
Earlier in the study room, just before leaving, Tania had given her and Sylvia Scott a deep bow.
She hadn’t cried, but there was still a stubborn pride in her determined eyes, a remnant of her illustrious lineage.
But Lily knew that this woman’s heart was probably completely shattered by now.
“Exactly. That’s why they say marriage is a woman’s second chance at life. Your uncle didn’t want her to marry into the family back then precisely because he saw through the Scott family’s cold-hearted calculation. Not to ntion, Nolan Lucas has always had ulterior motives towards Tania… She’s just too naive to see it and even thought her uncle was mistreating her.”
Lily sighed. As a fellow pregnant woman, in this mont, she sincerely prayed for Tania Scott’s well-being.
“I hope she can succeed… For herself and for the child she’s carrying…”

That evening, news ca from Winston’s side—Professor Marlowe had been intercepted by Theodore Lucas’s group.
“Was the address you gave real?” Lily sought out Aidan Lucas to confirm.
She had thought Theodore Lucas had simply tossed out a random address to mislead them.
Even if it were real, by now Professor Marlowe should have gotten wind of the situation and left.
“It was.” Mr. Lucas lifted his gaze from the docunts. His usually cold eyes softened the mont they landed on Lily.
“That was part of the plan between Professor Marlowe and . There’s no need to worry.”
“But didn’t you say that Professor Marlowe has a deep grudge against Theodore Lucas? If he falls into Theodore’s hands, won’t he be in danger?”
Aidan Lucas picked up on the concern in the woman’s tone. Setting aside the docunts, he pulled her into his arms.
“There will definitely be danger, but as the saying goes, one must enter the tiger’s den to catch its cub. This was a plan we devised together.”
Lily furrowed her brow slightly. “You’re saying Professor Marlowe willingly walked into a trap… What are you trying to do? Aidan, you’ve been hiding so much from lately.”
The photo given to Sebastian Lucas VII.
Professor Marlowe deliberately letting himself be caught.
The mysteries surrounding Aidan Lucas only seed to multiply.
Aidan Lucas sat Lily down on his lap and tipped up her small chin. “Oh? Is Mrs. Lucas now interrogating Mr. Lucas about his whereabouts, hmm?”
“I am not interrogating you; I’m just curious.” Lily proactively wrapped her arms around him, resting her small head against his firm chest. “I’m worried about you… Professor Marlowe is so important to you, I don’t understand why you would risk letting him fall into Theodore Lucas’s hands. And as for Sebastian, does he really believe that photo will compel Uncle to leave seclusion?”
“Silly girl, you’re a pregnant woman. You shouldn’t be worrying so much about this and that all the ti.” Mr. Lucas pinched her chin and kissed her. As Lily let out a soft gasp, he deepened the kiss.
“You just focus on resting at ho. Seven days from now, accompany to the family eting. As for everything else, I’ve already arranged it… Mr. Lucas promises you, everything is proceeding smoothly.”
Lily always trusted Aidan Lucas’s words.
Moreover, as he kissed her, that deep, lodious voice felt like a spell cast directly onto her trembling heart.
She stopped overthinking. In any case, she’d help wherever she could.
If Aidan Lucas truly failed, then at worst, she’d take him back to Europe to be the son-in-law of a Duke.
