Returning from the sea to land took a whole day, and by the ti we settled in the accommodation, it was already the Zi Hour. Everyone was utterly exhausted; they only washed briefly before lying down to rest.
Wufu was no exception. Her hair was still wet when she collapsed onto the bed and fell into a deep sleep, sleeping until almost noon the next day.
"Purple Jade." Wufu yawned, hugging the blanket and calling out.
At that ti, Purple Jade and the others were not in the room. Wufu waited for a mont, saw a clean set of clothes neatly folded beside her, and dressed herself.
After she had dressed, Purple Jade returned.
"Miss, you’re awake."
"Hmm, where did you go? What ti is it?" Wufu asked as she tied her belt.
Purple Jade replied, "I thought Miss wouldn’t wake up so soon, so I went over to Miss Jin Lan’s place."
"Hmm? What’s wrong with her?"
"Miss Jin Lan is sick again and was speaking nonsense all night. Jadeite kept watch over her all night, and I just went to replace her," Purple Jade said. "Yuan Ye has now bought a few maids, and soone is over there keeping watch, so I ca back to serve you."
Wufu frowned.
In the recent accident, all the maids serving Jin Lan died, leaving her severely frightened. She had been ill before, so it’s no wonder she fell ill again.
"Help freshen up; I’ll go see her." Wufu sighed.
Purple Jade complied, quickly fetching water to assist her with her grooming.
Once everything was tidied up, Wufu headed to Jin Lan’s room.
They had arrived late last night and had hurriedly found two rooms at the guesthouse to settle down, so everyone was still at the guesthouse now.
The arrangents to travel by land to Changan were naturally for others to handle, and as the masters, they just waited. Thus, upon entering Jin Lan’s room, Wufu was not surprised to see Jin Yu.
"You’re here." Jin Yu smiled at her.
"I heard Jin Lan is sick again, so I ca to check on her." Wufu walked up to the bedside and saw that the delicate girl’s face was pale. Even in her sleep, her brows were furrowed, and her thin face was not even the size of a palm, looking extrely frail.
"You’re thoughtful. She’s just overly scared. The White Ghost Doctor said she just needs to rest quietly," Jin Yu said with a smile.
Wufu nodded and looked around the room.
Two maids, about fifteen or sixteen years old, stood at the foot of the bed. They looked very uneasy, probably because they were newcors and hadn’t learned the rules. So, they were also very apprehensive upon seeing Wufu.
This guesthouse is located in just a small county, so the maids hurriedly bought to serve were acceptable. The rules could only be taught slowly.
But the newcors still weren’t familiar, and if they were heavy-handed, who knows if it would make Jin Lan uncomfortable.
"The new maids don’t know the rules yet. Purple Jade is useful by my side and steady enough. For the next few days, let her serve Jin Lan here. It will also help to teach the new maids," Wufu suggested to Jin Yu.
Jin Yu’s eyes lit up upon hearing this. He knew Purple Jade was Wufu’s main maid and very capable. Her skills throughout the journey were admirable. Having her serve Jin Lan gave him peace of mind.
"But if she’s here with my sister, what about you?" Jin Yu hesitated.
Wufu said, "I’m not delicate. Having Jadeite by my side is enough. Besides, didn’t Yuan Ye buy new maids as well? I don’t need many people to serve ."
"Thank you!" Jin Yu bowed his hand to her and then again to Purple Jade, "I appreciate it, Miss Zi Yu!"
Purple Jade nodded. She had anticipated this before coming, so she had no objections.
