As soon as this thought surfaced, Qiu'er froze on the spot. Recalling the scene she had stumbled upon earlier, and the way her Lord Sister hadn't resisted at all, even wrapping her arms around that guy's neck, the answer seed all too obvious.
If, if it really was Lord Sister who had taken the initiative, then what did all her previous efforts—those plans to save Lord Sister and share her burden—amount to?
Lord Sister didn't need her help at all? Weren't her previous actions completely aningless, even... a bit ridiculous?
Qiu'er's eyes beca vacant once more, a strong sense of loss and self-doubt flooding her heart. But soon, her innate pride and stubbornness took over again. No, even if Lord Sister was the one who took the initiative, that guy couldn't escape responsibility! Besides, she had to find out for sure!
Just what on earth was going on!
The next mont, Qiu'er abruptly looked up at Bi Ji, her gaze becoming firm again, even carrying a sort of do-or-die determination: "Bi Ji, I understand now!"
Bi Ji: "...?"
Huh?
Bi Ji blinked. No, you understand? I haven't even started comforting you yet!
Bi Ji looked at Qiu'er's red eyes, which were filled with a fighting spirit that seed to be burning, and her heart grew even more confused. "You... what do you understand?" Bi Ji couldn't help but ask.
"I'm going to find him! I'll ask him clearly!" Qiu'er clenched her fists, her tone resolute. Bi Ji blinked, sowhat bewildered. Ask who clearly?
Bi Ji looked at her little Qiu'er, whom she had raised since childhood, appearing so high-spirited as if she were about to go off to a heroic sacrifice. For a mont, she didn't know what to say. However...
Looking at her like this, it seed there was no need for comfort?
Bi Ji fell into deep thought.
Day after day, a few days later in the early morning, sunlight once again spilled into the room on the top floor of the silver radiance tree. On the soft large bed, two figures were still sleeping in each other's arms, their posture intimate. Silver long hair was naturally scattered, and amidst the strands, a hand gently held her. The two were pressed together, Gu Yue curled in Kong Mingan's embrace, her hands unconsciously wrapped around his neck. Her cold and exquisite face appeared much softer in her sleep, lacking its usual indifference. Her long lashes lightly covered her eyes, her brow was slightly furrowed, and her small mouth was slightly open, letting out shallow and rhythmic breaths, carrying the laziness and slight fatigue of the aftermath.
A First-Level Deity's Physical Body was indeed powerful, with astonishing recovery capabilities. However, she couldn't withstand the fact that the power within her body, along with her physical strength, was being temporarily suppressed by this guy through the deep-level connection of the Martial Soul Fusion Skill. If truth be told, she was probably not much stronger than an ordinary human, at most more resilient and unbreakable, only—
—able to be at his rcy. Heh... She had thought that once her strength was restored, she could hold her head high and get even, but as it turned out... she was bullied until she was powerless to resist. What kind of strength restoration was this?
Strange thoughts drifted as Gu Yue woke up in a daze. Feeling the lingering soreness in her body, she moved slightly, wanting to adjust her position. Then, she frowned slightly... Was it over?
Gu Yue felt her head was groggy. She had thought she would wake up this ti only to be bullied in another position. She hadn't expected to be let off...
She raised her eyelids, her purple eyes still misty with the haze of just waking up, and t Kong Mingan's gaze, who was already awake and looking down at her. She blinked her hazy eyes and couldn't help but speak, her voice carrying the hoarseness of just waking up and a hint of instinctive complaint: "...Why did you stop?"
Kong Mingan reached out, brushing a strand of sweat-dampened silver hair from her cheek behind her ear. His fingertips inadvertently brushed against her slightly warm earlobe as he spoke, "Counting the ti, there are only a few days left until the agreed seven-day period. We should set off early to investigate the situation at the Demon Plane and make so preparations."
Kong Mingan paused, then added, "It's ti to get down to business. We shouldn't let ourselves be distracted by pleasure."
Hearing this, Gu Yue's movents paused, a hint of annoyance and lingering desire rising in her heart at being interrupted. But she also knew that business was important, and this was indeed sothing she had promised before, having already been delayed for several days. However, she still couldn't help but look away, retorting with a slightly stiff and dissatisfied tone: "Who's being distracted by pleasure?"
Kong Mingan gave a light chuckle, his tone gentle as if he were coaxing her. "Fine, fine, fine, I'm the one distracted by pleasure, alright?"
As he spoke, he held the Dragon King Young Miss and shifted his posture slightly. He sat up a bit, leaning against the pillow, while the Dragon King Young Miss gave a soft hum, seemingly agreeing with his words. She then lay on top of him, her body still soft and appearing as if she didn't want to move. He reached out, gently stroking the Dragon King Young Miss's waist. After thinking for a mont, he spoke up, "However, before we go, there's one more thing I think I should tell you."
Gu Yue raised her eyes slightly to look at him again. For so reason, after these few days of deep communication and being bullied so harshly, she found that she didn't seem to fear him as much anymore.
Probably because she had been bullied like this anyway and her bottom line had been thoroughly broken through, she instead had a sort of calm resignation. With a hint of haziness and laziness, she asked softly, "What is it?"
Kong Mingan looked down, his arm still encircling her slender yet supple and strong waist. His fingertips unconsciously brushed over the delicate skin of her waist and those faintly visible fine dragon scales. Gu Yue only felt a slight itchy, shivering sensation, and her body couldn't help but tremble slightly. She frowned at him, and only then did Kong Mingan slowly speak, "It's about Qiu'er."
"Qiu'er?"
Gu Yue imdiately frowned, shifting uncomfortably in his arms. She then released her hands from his neck and pressed them against his chest. Using a bit of force, Gu Yue sat up straight, facing him in a position slightly higher than his. With clear dissatisfaction, her brilliant purple eyes stared intently at him. "I'm already like this, and you're still thinking about ruining Qiu'er?!"
Her voice was filled with anger and a trace of indiscernible grievance. Gu Yue frowned and glared at him.
Kong Mingan blinked, looking at the Dragon King Young Miss close at hand in her slightly huffy state. His eyes flickered slightly, and he didn't rush to explain. Kong Mingan sat up a bit straighter. Gu Yue was caught off guard, letting out a muffled groan as she fell back into his embrace, her waist firmly encircled by his strong arm. He rested his chin on her shoulder, his cheek intimately rubbing against the warm and delicate skin of her neck, and said unhurriedly, "It's not what you think."
Gu Yue's body stiffened slightly, then softened again. Her anger clearly subsided, though she still bit her lip and said in a sowhat cold voice: "Then tell , what is it?"
Kong Mingan patted her back reassuringly with one hand, while the other quietly slid down, grasping the tip of her silver dragon tail that was swaying unconsciously behind her due to her emotional fluctuations. His fingertips slowly rubbed against those delicate, cool scales. Kong Mingan said nonchalantly, "Qiu'er ca by, and... she saw everything."
As the words fell, Kong Mingan felt Gu Yue's body instantly tense up, becoming even more nervous.
