The universe was boundless, silent and desolate.
The divine kings stood atop the realm of gods, observing the great battle with relaxed expressions. They felt no threat whatsoever from Bai Xu.
"The return of the divine realm was faster than I anticipated. It seems the will of the universe has cleared many obstacles for you," Bai Xu murmured, his figure tall and straight.
"Indeed. It appears you’ve noticed as well. This universe has its own will, but it is also impatient—it wants to eliminate you before you can grow any further. You ca from beyond this universe, descending upon the Douluo Continent! You are a complete Otherworldly Demon!" Tang San shouted, revealing Bai Xu’s true identity.
"True. But the will of this universe is peculiar. The Dragon God of the past was the sa—even when it posed a threat, the universe wouldn’t act directly. Instead, it bestowed opportunities upon its adversaries to eliminate those who threatened it," Bai Xu remarked with a sigh.
"Enough talk. You cannot defeat ," Tang San declared, raising the Asura Blood Sword, his face twisted with hatred. The sword was entirely crimson, covered in dark golden demonic patterns—a massive blade over two ters long, with Xiao Wu as its sheath. But now, Xiao Wu was gone.
At that mont, a radiant nine-colored light illuminated the world. The colossal form of the Dragon God manifested, forcing Huo Yuhao and Tang Wutong to stumble back in disarray. Only the intervention of gods like Rong Nianbing and the divine kings of the Great Divine Circle prevented the two from being hard.
Compared to Bai Xu, Gu Yuena was far more formidable. Even if she couldn’t fully restore the Dragon God’s peak strength, she was more than capable of holding her own against multiple divine kings.
"If you want to kill him, you’ll have to go through first," Gu Yuena declared, clad in nine-colored radiance, wielding the Nine-Colored Dragon God Spear. Her aura was fierce yet devoid of madness—she was the Dragon God in its most rational form. Like a peerless war goddess, she stood protectively before Bai Xu.
"Silver Dragon King... To reach this level, you must have devoured the Golden Dragon’s essence within Wu Lin’s body..." Tang San’s veins bulged on his forehead, his eyes bloodshot. The Asura Blood Sword humd ominously, thirsting for vengeance.
"And what if I did?"
"Then you deserve death!"
"Tang San, we’ll hold off the Dragon God for you. Deal with the Otherworldly Demon first!" A group of divine kings from the Great Divine Circle stepped forward, offering their aid to the god they respected. The Dragon God was not an enemy a single divine king could face—even weakened, its oppressive presence remained overwhelming.
Tang San nodded. "Very well."
"Do you trust ?" Bai Xu asked softly as he approached Gu Yuena.
"Of course!"
"What the will of the universe showed you was real, but it was not the final outco," Bai Xu said aningfully.
Before Gu Yuena could respond, the divine kings attacked, dragging her into another battlefield. anwhile, Bai Xu and Tang San clashed amidst the stars, unleashing deadly techniques.
Just as the three won had foreseen, Bai Xu initially fought evenly with Tang San, but as ti passed, he gradually fell into a disadvantage.
"Domain of Asura!"
"Realm of Five Elents!"
Spells clashed against spells, domains against domains—a contest of foundation and will.
"Die! Asura’s Judgnt!"
Tang San swung his divine sword. This technique held the power to judge and execute most gods. A single strike could annihilate or grievously wound any god of first-rank or below. Though it had no special effect against divine kings of the sa level, its sheer destructive force was imnse.
"But unfortunately, I am no god, and you have no right to judge ! Great Five Elents Annihilation Divine Light!"
BOOM!
The two opposing forces collided and dissipated into nothingness, another stalemate.
With the divine realm’s support, Tang San could fight without regard for energy consumption, even drawing upon the divine realm’s core if necessary. Bai Xu’s clone, however, was far inferior in foundation. After unleashing two great divine techniques, the half-baked clone was already nearing exhaustion.
"Four Celestial Beasts, Fusion of Five Elents—True Form of Yinglong!"
Over the past decade, Bai Xu had not developed any new techniques, instead focusing solely on comprehension. His progress in cultivation had been slow, and this strike would be his last.
"Asura God Armor..." With a sigh, Tang San’s attire transford, his body now covered in crimson blades, every inch bristling with spikes.
Tang San knew the colossal dragon before him was Bai Xu’s final struggle. As the laws of yin and yang infused the dragon, its aura underwent a drastic change, threatening to annihilate all tangible existence—a danger even to divine kings.
"A last-ditch effort? Then I’ll oblige you! Asura Blood Sword!"
Tang San’s face twisted grotesquely as his body ignited with invisible flas—he was burning his Asura bloodline for a killing blow. The Asura Blood Sword was the Asura God’s ultimate technique, rging body and soul, sword and spirit. It was a desperate, all-out strike fueled by the sacrifice of his bloodline.
Had the God of Kindness, Evil, Destruction, and Life been present, they could have joined forces to execute the Three Realms Judgnt Sword. With the five divine kings united, Bai Xu would have had no escape. But as things stood, the outco was already decided.
The colossal blood sword clashed against the dragon form. Bai Xu’s foundation was ultimately too shallow—a decade without progress left him no match for a divine king’s might.
His avatar was pierced. In a daze, the blood sword stabbed through his heart, threatening to impale him toward the Douluo Continent—where the humiliating statues of Tang Hao and A Yin knelt in atonent.
Yet...
Bai Xu smiled.
"Good thing I comprehended it in ti. At the last possible mont, even my heart started beating again," Bai Xu sighed before his clone self-destructed.
Then, from the Douluo Continent, a frail, thin Bai Xu quietly erged.
"Bai Xu..." Gu Yue and Na’er had been waiting there, their expressions anxious as they looked at him.
Only when Bai Xu smiled back did they relax.
"Thank goodness... You did it," Gu Yue whispered, her eyes glistening with tears.
Bai Xu glanced toward the heavens, where Tang San was also looking back, sensing Bai Xu’s weakened state. He rejoined the battle against Gu Yuena, intending to cooperate with the divine kings to eliminate the Dragon God first.
"Perhaps the mont I appeared on the Douluo Continent, the outco was already decided."
Under the astonished gazes of the two won, Bai Xu raised a finger and chanted: "Innate Divine Ability—Three Lives of Cause and Effect."
Suddenly, Gu Yue and Na’er saw a change in Bai Xu. He seed to enter a strange state, threads of causality spreading around him. They could even see the red threads of fate binding them to him.
Behind Bai Xu, a small tree seed to sprout from the ground, growing until it matched his height.
The fluctuations of causality spread, yet no one could perceive them. None here were familiar with the laws of causality—they only felt an inexplicable fear.
Then, the small tree began bearing fruit—four in total.
Gu Yue sensed that these fruits corresponded to space, ti, fate, and causality. These were the supre laws she had known since childhood—the ones the will of the world had wanted Bai Xu to comprehend.
Bai Xu’s voice echoed softly:
"These supre laws—I’ve only scratched the surface. Even in battle, I can barely wield them. They are not enough to defeat the Great Divine Circle or the will of the universe. But... Soone once told he left behind a great divine ability to help survive this tribulation. Now, I think I understand a little..."
Bai Xu channeled all his power into his innate ability. The small tree seed to absorb boundless energy, and the four fruits of law simultaneously exploded. At the treetop, a tiny human soul took form, drifting gently into Bai Xu’s body.
Bai Xu murmured:
"He said the Heavenly Demon of Transformation and Freedom was built upon his innate divine ability—a place beyond cause and effect, beyond ti and space, outside the universe, devoid of the Great Dao, devoid of everything. So... I used the chaos of the Five Elents to slightly distort the four laws, combined with the deductions of my innate ability, planting the cause to reap the final outco..."
"For ten years, my cultivation stagnated as I focused solely on comprehending the four laws. The cause was planted long ago. Now, I borrow my innate ability to reap the fruit—just as before, to glimpse the ending!"
The soul that entered Bai Xu’s body was the fruit.
Suddenly, the world fell silent. Di Tian and the others finally sensed the terrifying aura capable of collapsing the entire universe. An extre sense of dread rose in their hearts. Everything within sight seed coated in frost—an endless killing intent.
In the Heavenly Demon of Transformation and Freedom, two Bai Xus at the seventh level of Divine Prohibition sat waiting. They smiled as a new Bai Xu appeared.
"You’re here."
"I’m here."
"Then let us greet you, fellow Daoist. To comprehend a Divine Prohibition-level ability at your level—you are truly unprecedented," the first Bai Xu said with a light laugh.
"Greetings, fellow Daoist."
In the depths of the Heavenly Demon of Transformation and Freedom, many Bai Xus sensed the fluctuations and erged. They ca from different worlds, each at least at the fourth level of Divine Prohibition. Together, they clasped their hands:
"Greetings, fellow Daoist."
In the next instant, Bai Xu’s consciousness returned, his mind flooded with new knowledge. He rose into the air, gazing down at everything below.
There were the soul beasts trembling in fear from the causality fluctuations—Di Tian, Bi Ji, Xiong Jun, and others.
The people of the Federation—Qi Changping, the forr Shrek Seven Monsters, his teacher Leng Jiuming (now a Limit Douluo), and the various legion commanders.
Further out, Tang San stood in shock, the battle already halted as he stared at Bai Xu’s overwhelming aura. Beside Huo Yuhao were his soul beast spirits—the Snow Empress, Ice Empress, Tian ng Ice Silkworm—and Tang Wutong, the original Shrek Seven Monsters, the twelve divine kings of the divine realm, and countless gods.
And the Dragon God, Gu Yuena, her expression filled with concern.
Bai Xu’s lips curled into a smile. He clenched his fists—then blew his own head apart.
"Innate Divine Ability—Heavenly Demon of Transformation and Freedom!"
The Heavenly Demon of Transformation and Freedom was the first Bai Xu’s innate ability. Later, he used it as the foundation to create the Heavenly Demon of Transformation and Freedom, establishing a bridge connecting Bai Xus across parallel universes. If two Bai Xus were to et in the sa universe, the collapse of causality would destroy it.
But in the Heavenly Demon of Transformation and Freedom, this did not happen.
Thus, the first Bai Xu gave every Bai Xu a chance. Any who comprehended this ability would leave a shadow within the realm.
Now, he had done the sa.
As his head exploded, a drop of black-and-white essence blood hovered in the air, refusing to disperse. He sacrificed this blood and the Divine Prohibition contained within his mind—exchanging it for survival!
The headless Bai Xu chanted: "Transform—Bai Xu!"
HUM!
Instantly, his head regenerated. His eyes were calm, devoid of emotion, of words.
In the next mont, his body expanded, towering between heaven and earth, unyielding to ti, unbound by causality. He smirked coldly at the depths of the universe, where the will of the universe raged, seeking to birth a calamity.
"World Annihilation."
BOOM!
As if obeying his command, the universe trembled. Blood rained down as the cosmos shattered. With a single glance, the mighty Great Divine Circle and its twelve divine kings exploded into cosmic dust.
Bai Xu did not complete the annihilation. The will of the universe was erased, the cosmos fractured. The fragnt containing the Douluo Continent drifted into the unknown as Bai Xu slowly descended.
Gu Yuena had already returned to the Douluo Continent. The three won stared at the icy, emotionless Bai Xu, barely recognizing him. His gaze was too much like the Bai Xu from the Heavenly Demon of Transformation and Freedom—he was no longer the one they knew.
But then—
"Pfft—"
Bai Xu collapsed, blood seeping from his body. Yet, this also restored his original aura. The three won rushed to catch him.
Gu Yuena sighed in relief. "You scared . I thought you wouldn’t co back."
Gu Yue nodded. "That gaze was too much. It made tremble, as if my soul was being crushed."
"Still... it’s finally over," Na’er murmured, gazing at the stars. The Douluo Continent and this fragnt of the universe would now face an unknown fate. All karma... had ended.
"Cough... That life-saving trick can only be used once," Bai Xu said weakly. "If I use it again, sacrificing my head, the Divine Prohibition will never reopen. My cultivation will stagnate forever."
"Rest now. You’re badly hurt. You’ve done enough," the three won whispered. Under their watchful eyes, Bai Xu slowly closed his eyes. He had reached his limit.
"Thank you, Bai Xu."
