In the grand, cold tapestry of the multiverse, life was a rarity. Barely thirty civilizations flickered like lonely candles across the vastness of Universe 7.
When Shin had first ascended to the mantle of Supre Kai, he was a god in title but a novice in soul.
His reign was defined by a naive hands-off approach; he watched from the Sacred World of the Kai as worlds rose and fell, convinced that mortal growth required a lack of divine interference.
He was a gardener who refused to prune, intervening only when cosmic blights like Majin Buu threatened to consu the entire forest.
And then there was Beerus.
Within this mysterious Universe 7, the God of Destruction, Beerus, was even more inclined to imrse himself in deep slumber.
He even went so far as to handpick Frieza as his spokesperson.
But who could have imagined it? Frieza was nothing more than a completely lawless maniac!
Even when Beerus never ordered the destruction of a planet, any world that caught Frieza's eye would have its fate decided solely by his mood.
At this mont, the surrounding atmosphere suddenly fell into a suffocatingly awkward silence.
Kaiōshin Shin's lips trembled slightly as he muttered, "Then, since things have turned out like this, I suppose I should give up the idea of killing myself..."
Gohan, who was holding Kaiōshin Shin tightly, seed to be enveloped by an invisible power, his mind sinking deep into contemplation.
[So that's how it is… The planets that Beerus destroyed before barely had any signs of life at all. Could he not be as bad as I imagined?]
But the thought died as quickly as it was born. He rembered the cold, golden light in Beerus's eyes as he threatened Earth. He rembered the casual cruelty directed at Videl and the bruised form of Piccolo.
These images flashed endlessly before Gohan's eyes, completely erasing the faint doubt that had just arisen in his heart. No, Beerus wasn't a misunderstood guardian; he was an apex predator who viewed lives as nothing more than playthings.
Just as Gohan's thoughts were drifting aimlessly, like a kite with its string cut...
...a familiar yet powerful aura entered his mind once again.
It was like surging ocean waves, crashing against his nerves one after another.
[It's Dad and Vegeta's Ki!!]
Unlike before, this aura was exceptionally intense, like a ferocious beast awakening from its slumber.
Gohan abruptly turned his head, his gaze locking onto Trunks directly.
At that mont, Trunks had closed his eyes again, as if he were fully focused on sensing sothing. His brows were slightly furrowed, and he had an unprecedentedly grave expression on his face.
Then he smiled knowingly and called out to Gohan: "Gohan Nii San! Grab my hand! We're heading out!"
Gohan hurriedly released Kaiōshin Shin and imdiately put his hand on Trunks' shoulder. At that very mont, Kaiōshin Shin's body suddenly trembled, and he quickly did the sa.
"I want to go and see it, too!"
…
The Realm of Nothingness.
Gogeta's aura continued to rise unabated.
The energy he was emitting had already increased exponentially.
Yet, even so, the surrounding space showed no signs of disturbance whatsoever. The spatial barrier of the Realm of Nothingness was unimaginably solid!
Beerus stared straight at Gogeta, unable to figure out what he was trying to do.
He just kept raising his aura but made no move to attack.
Thinking carefully back on what Gogeta had said earlier, sothing about breaking space...
But this was the Realm of Nothingness. How could it possibly be broken?
After all, this place had once been used as a battlefield for the Gods of Destruction to fight. No matter how powerful Gogeta was, he was still only mortal. There was still a gap between him and a God of Destruction.
"Don't waste your effort. This place won't be broken so easily," Beerus said calmly.
However, in the very next second, Gogeta ignored him entirely, and all of his aura suddenly retracted back into his body, condensing into pure power.
BOOM…!
In the very next second, his fist collided with Beerus's fist once again, and instantly, powerful air currents surged outwards, scouring everything around them.
Even the air let out a cold, shrill sound as if wailing in agony.
Gogeta imdiately realized that it was impossible to shatter space alone, and seeing that his punches were having so effect, Gogeta increased their speed.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The sound of fists colliding echoed endlessly throughout the Realm of Nothingness, causing ripples to spread out one after another.
Beerus wore an expression of pure exhilaration at this mont. He hadn't felt this sensation in a long ti; it felt familiar yet strangely distant.
If he had to trace it back, it would have to be from before he beca a god.
He could now clearly feel that Gogeta's power had reached the level he himself had possessed before attaining godhood. But that was sothing from countless years ago; it was so far in the past that even Beerus had forgotten it.
Suddenly, Beerus noticed that Gogeta's punching speed was increasing and the power behind each strike was growing stronger as well.
However...
He could clearly sense that Gogeta's aura had beco sowhat unstable.
Beerus frowned slightly, thinking to himself, "What's going on with this guy?"
Gogeta's mind began to fall into chaos.
And it was not for any other reason but the he could already feel his body approaching the brink of disintegration.
That sensation was growing stronger and stronger.
Consequently, his aura had beco extrely unstable.
Cold sweat ford on Gogeta's forehead. The fact that he had been able to transform into the Boundary Breakthrough state and maintain it for this long was already his absolute limit.
The reason he hadn't disintegrated yet was due to another factor. The special nature of the Realm of Nothingness itself also provided a kind of buff.
In the original tiline, Kefla from Universe 6 hadn't disintegrated quickly during the Tournant of Power either. This proved that the Realm of Nothingness was indeed distinct from the outside world.
Nevertheless, the limitations of fusion still lood over Gogeta.
The next mont, Gogeta stopped exchanging blows with Beerus.
Throwing everything he had into one last gamble, he realized that even this wouldn't break space.
Then he had only one final option left!
In the next second, a red light flared up around Gogeta's body. This red light was completely different from the divine aura he had before.
Rather than red, it was more like the color of blood... a deadly skill.
That's right: it was the Kaiō-ken.
As the blood-red aura continued to intensify, Gogeta's power multiplied rapidly.
"AAAHHHHH!!!"
Two tis... four tis... ten tis... twenty tis!
Gogeta unleashed the twentyfold Kaiō-ken, using the last of his strength. Instantly, his entire body tensed up and blood surged violently through his veins.
His muscles began to spasm, and a ferocious roar burst from his throat.
"Twentyfold Kaiō-ken --- Great Explosion Turtle Kahaha!"
A colossal, heaven-devouring dragon burst forth from his hands at once, flying straight towards Beerus.
