"So, I’ll explain what our plan is."

Aditya took out a rope and tied one end of it firmly around his waist. The rope was almost 200 ters (656 feet) long, thick, and slightly rough to the touch. He pulled it once to test its strength before handing the other end to Athena.

"I need you to hold onto this end of the rope. If I don’t co out of the purple fog on my own, then after five minutes of entering, I want you to slowly pull on the rope so that I can follow the direction of the pull and safely retreat out of the fog."

"But why are you even doing this?"

"Using this thod, we cannot reach the center of the Dragon Mountain Range," Rin said. At the center of the Dragon Mountain Range was a special pocket dinsion where Aditya’s grandfather was sleeping.

"No. The test is to see if, as a Divine Dragon, I have the natural ability to resist the effects of the purple fog. If this thod doesn’t work, then we have no choice but to head back. But if it does work, then you girls can wait outside while I safely navigate through the fog and reach the entrance of the pocket dinsion where my grandfather is."

"If this doesn’t work, then at least I will have a safe way to co out of the purple fog without getting trapped."

Hearing this, the girls felt worried and wanted to stop him, but they still nodded their heads. This was the only logical solution left.

"What I don’t understand is why soone can’t just use powerful wind magic to remove the purple fog and create a clear path," Rin asked.

"Well, from my dad, I learned that this purple fog is actually a very advanced rune formation that was created under the command of the Crimson Dragon Emperor. A huge amount of mana was extracted from the Pearls so that the runes could function for the next 500,000 to 1,000,000 years," Aditya explained.

As he spoke, his eyes briefly moved toward the endless sea of purple fog ahead. Even standing outside, he could feel a strange pressure coming from it.

Since Aditya had an awakened Divine Dragon bloodline, there was a chance that he might be the only one unaffected by the purple fog.

"How does your dad know about the Crimson Dragon King?" Athena asked.

Both of them believed that the na of the Crimson Dragon King had been completely erased from history. Only a few individuals in the entire world still knew about him. Even the descendants of races that once served him had forgotten his na and only rembered fragnts of prophecies left behind by their ancestors.

"I asked my dad the sa question," Aditya replied.

"He said that my grandfather discovered so ruins from the ti of the Crimson Dragon King. The language was ancient and different, but after hundreds of years of effort, it was finally deciphered. That’s how they learned about the Crimson Dragon Empire."

"But my grandfather never made this information public. He only passed it down to his son."

Hearing this, Athena nodded her head.

Under the watchful gaze of Laura and Rin, Aditya tightened the knot around his waist, pulling it twice to make sure it would not co loose or snap even under sudden force.

They also checked the rope carefully. This was not an ordinary rope. It was engraved with runes, and faint patterns could be seen glowing on its surface. Because of this, it was strong enough to withstand the pull of a Peak 5th-order cultivator without breaking.

"Alright, I am going in."

Even Aditya himself felt slightly nervous. A faint tension built inside his chest, but he suppressed it. He had made this decision because he could not afford to lose the upcoming civil war. To maximise his chances of winning, he needed his grandfather by his side.

The girls gave him worried looks, but Aditya smiled to reassure them.

The purple fog covered the entire Dragon Mountain Range. Not even a single mountain peak or tall tree could be seen. Everything was buried under a thick and endless blanket of purple fog. It looked calm from the outside, but everyone knew how dangerous it truly was.

Taking a deep breath, Aditya slowly stepped forward.

The mont his body entered the fog, his surroundings were completely swallowed.

At that mont, his heart began to pound. It was impossible not to feel nervous, especially when he knew the consequences of failure. If he failed, he would be trapped in this fog forever.

And the worst part was that he might not even realise it. He could spend hundreds of years walking in circles, believing he was moving forward while never finding the exit.

Outside the fog—

"Athena, have you thought of any contingency plan if sothing unexpected happens?" Rin asked.

Athena shook her head. She tried to appear calm, but she understood the purple fog better than anyone. Once soone was trapped inside, saving them was almost impossible.

"I have attached a few butterflies to him. Through them, I can track his position. If sothing goes wrong, I will personally go inside, and you two can hold the rope and pull back as well."

Rin began sweating from nervousness.

Laura nervously bit her fingernails and kept walking back and forth, staring into the fog where Aditya had disappeared.

As for Athena, she silently clenched her fists and stared in the sa direction without blinking. Every second, she tracked the position of the butterflies attached to him.

"So far, I can feel their position clearly."

"He is moving straight ahead. Maybe around 100 ters (328 feet) away from us."

"That’s good to hear," Rin said, trying to stay positive.

Laura kept track of the ti. The mont five minutes passed, she would ask Athena to pull the rope.

Only two minutes had passed, yet it felt like two hours to them. Every second felt like a minute, and every minute felt like an hour.

The wind around them was silent. The fog did not move. It was as if the world itself had stopped breathing.

Swoosh!!!

Suddenly, Aditya appeared behind them out of nowhere.

"Guess who is back!"

"Ah...!" Rin yelped in shock and jumped slightly.

"Aditya?" Rin quickly walked up to him and touched his chest. "Is that really you?"

"What do you think?" he replied with a smile.

"But how did you teleport behind us?" Laura asked in surprise, her eyes wide.

Athena, on the other hand, looked relieved. The tension in her body slowly faded.

"It’s just as I expected. Because I am a Crimson Divine Dragon, the purple fog is not even visible to . Everything is completely clear. I can see up to tens of kiloters in every direction."

Hearing this, everyone beca excited.

This ant that any hidden danger inside the Dragon Mountain Range could now be handled more easily. And if things went wrong, he could simply teleport out.

"Let’s head inside," Aditya said.

If his theory was correct, then Rin, as a female Divine Dragon, should also not be affected by the fog.

If she was affected, then the only explanation left was that he was immune because he was a direct descendant of the Crimson Dragon King with a Divine Dragon bloodline.

"But we will be affected by the purple fog. Isn’t it better for us to stay outside?" Laura asked, worried that they might beco a burden to him.

Aditya shook his head with a small smile.

"I will just teleport you girls. Just stay close to , and nothing will happen."

"Unfortunately... sothing is about to happen."

Just then, the shadow beneath Aditya suddenly began to stretch and twist unnaturally. It expanded outward like a living creature, slowly forming into the shape of a giant claw.

From that claw-shaped shadow, a figure jumped out. The man landed before them.

"I have been looking for you everywhere, Dragon Monarch."

"Who are you?" Aditya asked in a cold tone, his expression turning serious in an instant.

"I am one of the core mbers of the Organisation."

The man stood there calmly, as if he had been waiting for this mont for a long ti. He was tall, standing at around 1.9 ters (6 feet 3 inches), with a straight and steady posture. His entire body was covered in a long black cloak that reached down to his ankles. The cloak was not ordinary. It looked smooth and heavy at the sa ti.

The hood of the cloak covered most of his face, but a sharp chin and pale skin could still be seen. His lips were thin, and there was a faint smile on his face that did not look friendly at all. His eyes were hidden in darkness, but just looking at him gave a strange and uncomfortable feeling.

Even his Aura felt very sinister and cold.

In his right hand, he held a long, thin blade. The sword was completely black, with no reflection on its surface. The edge of the blade looked uneven, almost like it was made of condensed shadows instead of tal.

’The question since when did he get so close to us?’ Aditya beca alert. He did not know how much of their conversation this man had heard.

He wasn’t expecting the organisation mbers to find them so quickly.
