It was already the next morning when Chen Xuan and Su Ying erged from the courtyard.

After a brief exchange, the two said goodbye and went their separate ways. Such was the life of cultivators.

Everyone was constantly busy, either with worldly matters or with enhancing their power.

Su Ying had to deal with the affairs of the Yin Yang Peak, as well as get familiar with her skyrocketing strength.

Chen Xuan, on the other hand, was far more idle.

With a flutter of his white clothes, his figure soared into the sky and flew around the Yin Yang Peak.

Many buildings quickly ca into view. They were picturesque and magnificent, while the immortal aura clinging to them made them look as if they had erged from a vivid painting.

Chen Xuan watched as the disciples strolled around, either visiting each other or leaving the Peak to perform missions.

The scene of an Elder teaching the newly-enrolled disciples soon attracted his attention.

Chen Xuan gently landed on the ground, yet nobody noticed his arrival.

As he listened to the lecture of the Elder on the podium and looked at the attentive expressions of the disciples below, he couldn’t help but nod his head with satisfaction.

"The state of the Yin Yang Peak has improved significantly since I handed the reins to Su Ying."

"By now, it’s not any different than the other Peaks of the Jade Pure Sect."

"The only remaining disparity is the Peak’s overall weakness. Not just among the disciples, but the Elders as well."

"...Most importantly, in the Peak Masters."

Chen Xuan did not lose his composure just because he had dealt with Elder Long.

He understood that he had a long way to go before the Yin Yang Peak could beco a major force like the other Peaks.

"It’s all the fault of that old hag! She left with such a ss and left without a care!"

"Hmph!" he snorted coldly.

"If it weren’t for the resources and the conveniences brought by being part of the sect, I would have cast off these responsibilities and beco a rogue cultivator."

As he rembered the beautiful face of his Master, Chen Xuan was in no mood to feel any excitent.

If anything, his mood had significantly worsened.

He no longer cared to watch the newly-enrolled disciples.

Having lost interest, he turned and soared into the sky.

Throughout this process, none of the people here knew that their Peak Master had arrived and was observing them silently.

Only the Elder on the podium noticed a faint movent from the corner of his eye. Yet, when he turned his head and found nothing there, he dismissed this feeling as a re illusion.

--

Chen Xuan was no longer in the mood to stroll around. His figure approached his courtyard, planning to enter seclusion.

Yet, just when he was about to reach the peak of the mountain, the combined shouts of young n and won caught his attention.

It was not unusual for a peak with a large number of disciples to be lively.

But among these shouts, a familiar female voice stood out.

His eyebrows furrowed, and he changed his trajectory, choosing to follow the direction of the sound.

Shortly after, he arrived at his destination—the Yin Yang Peak’s Arena.

Dozens of disciples had gathered and watched two won fight on the stage.

However, rather than calling it a fight, it would be far more accurate to call it a one-sided slaughter.

A red figure was flung across the stage again and again, treated as if it were a living punching bag.

"Junior Sister Huo, why don’t you surrender?"

"That’s right! It’s already impressive that you were able to fight against Senior Sister Chu for this long! Please step down!"

The disciples in the audience seats were anxious.

They pleaded for Huo Ling’er to step down, fearing that she would be injured and they would suffer as a result.

Unfortunately, the other party paid no heed to their kind-hearted advice.

Every ti her figure slamd onto the ground, Huo Ling’er would quickly jump to her feet and rush towards her opponent.

"Again!" she shouted at the top of her lungs.

Despite her determination and bravery, though, Senior Sister Chu had long reached the Late Stage of Qi Refining.

Though she was afraid that she would injure the Peak Master’s disciple and thus held back, she was still not soone Huo Ling’er could match.

Chen Xuan watched in silence as his disciple was battered across the arena.

Injuries accumulated on her body, both superficial and severe.

Yet, just when he was considering putting a stop to this farce and pulling her away, Chen Xuan’s gaze turned strange.

His eyes landed on Huo Ling’er, and he seed to have noticed sothing.

No other person did.

But with his divine sense, Chen Xuan was able to "see" that Huo Ling’er was slowly becoming stronger.

Her Holy Body would unleash its potential every ti her figure slamd onto the ground, drawing in the surrounding Spiritual Energy.

As a result, her cultivation improved quickly.

Each improvent was tiny, but they accumulated rapidly.

As her injuries piled up, Huo Ling’er seed to have reached a certain limit.

"Again! Again! Again!" Huo Ling’er’s beautiful face had now turned ferocious as she scread at Senior Sister Chu with bloodshot eyes.

She continuously coughed up blood, but she didn’t care. She disregarded her injuries and charged forward.

Senior Sister Chu beca speechless upon sensing the killing intent in her eyes.

Forced by the situation, she could no longer hold back.

Her palm danced gracefully through the air and struck Huo Ling’er’s abdon, sending her flying.

Huo Ling’er collapsed to the ground once more.

This ti, she failed to rise.

Her knees wobbled, and she staggered to the ground, coughing another mouthful of blood in the process.

Her eyelids fluttered as she faced the cold stone floor.

The world faded to black. Before long, her eyes closed completely.

While panic spread through the crowd, a faint smile lingered on her lips, unnoticed by all.

The disciples, including Senior Sister Chu, rushed to help her.

"Junior Sister Huo!"

"Soone call the Elders! The Peak Master’s disciple is injured!"

A flurry of shouts spread as they scrambled to deal with the situation.

Chen Xuan was about to step in and disperse the crowd. He was planning to take away his disciple.

But just then, his movents paused.

The long-lost notification of the System erged in his field of vision.
