Vale found himself in the Dungeon Core, looking at the inky black door with the tir above it.
The tir had reset without him entering, reading roughly 25 days until the next eting.
A eting he had resolved to attend — despite the fact that Wrath was pissed at him, and Sloth had half traumatized him.
It would also be the eting where he confronted Envy about her spies.
The eting where Envy would try to fra it as him killing one of her warriors.
Where either would try and possibly win a Vice to their side.
A prospect that seed impossible for Vale.
Vale turned around and looked at the mountain of stone from the huge room alongside the rooms for each trade he’d mined out.
With how much he had stored up, he hadn’t a need to spare any. Yet...
’I don’t exactly know what to do with it...’
Vale, not knowing what to do with the imps once they completed their mining tasks, had sent them to hollow out the maze — returning to the initial room to its beginning state, save for the first wall. From there, he planned to expand the room and recreate the labyrinth into sothing larger and more confusing for invaders. Giving himself more advantages.
He could even create proper areas for his archers to safely shoot from, instead of the open elevated ledges
Adding traps and more false passageways were also on the agenda.
Traps which Engineers, once specialized, could actually build.
Spikes that spring from the wall, pressure plates activating arrows or dropped loose stalagmites...
In theory, it was all possible.
Vale had no idea how long it would take to reach a point such as that, but it was a point he needed to reach.
In essence, he needed to bolster his dungeon’s defense.
With Level 10 still nearly impossible and all his workers busy, he’d also gone about preparing his warriors for their roles once the ultimate crux of his Legion was summoned.
Sothing he was planning to do with the mass of Aether he was getting from the crucible of death that was currently the Scar.
In fact, in the last five days, he’d garnered nearly 500, his forces having only killed a handful from the bunch.
Greed had also been behaving quite well.
Until Xina was freed or he amassed the designated amount of Aether for his army, or maybe even [???], the main task he had at hand was getting stronger.
Either by understanding his Traits, trying to develop a new one, or sparring to better utilize his Traits in battle.
Yet, that wasn’t the only thing he could do.
The secondary task Vale could undertake was helping in training his warriors, Sivian, Toy, and Awilix.
Finally, the third thing he could do would also be learn more about his Champions.
It pained Vale to admit, but other than Salo, he knew very little about his Champions other than how they acted during intimacy.
Toy’s past was moot, having been wiped when she transmigrated; however, Awilix recovered her mory.
Mias also had his secrets.
’He seed... sad.’
Whenever he talked about his constitution, his body, Mias never seed particularly proud of his existence as he was with knowledge.
He could turn into smoke and glide around the air, unlike regular beasts and humans, but he never flaunted that power the way he did his intelligence.
There were also small expressions of anger or annoyance when the Naless King was ntioned.
Feeling Vale hadn’t even known the Reaper possessed at first.
From what Vale had figured out about Mias...
’He’s a brat, just like Salo.’
Though his brattiness is more grounded in logic and reason than Salo’s emotional stance.
That left just Sivian.
The snake from Level 8.
As Toy and Awilix had, her mory was quite fuzzy; nearly entirely wiped. Like Toy, she hadn’t even rembered her na, though she rembered a few things about herself, such as her Trait.
There wasn’t much to read about the snake other than her personality...
A personality Vale had deed to be quite weird.
Sivian was quiet. Eerily so.
She listened to orders without complaint.
She was too ’perfect...’ a servant.
But Vale could tell sothing sinister hid behind her ocean eyes.
Not that the sinister gaze was directed at him...
’But at the others.’
Sivian had made no outward showing of hate toward the other Champions, yet the looks she gave them didn’t exactly read as friendly...
Especially Awilix.
Awilix, the only one who was failing to hold her desires in while Greed was present, was constantly trying to get Vale to crack.
’Was it jealousy?’
Vale wasn’t entirely sure...
But just because he was Lust and its master, it did not an all under him were subjected to the sa ntal restraints as him.
They were free to feel envious as they pleased.
As well as the other emotions of the Vice.
However, the problem was that her envy seed to have a malicious undertone.
It had gotten to the point that Vale had warned the poor cat to only drink water provided by Mias or Salo directly.
Awilix didn’t entirely understand why Vale had ordered that, but being the oh so obedient cat, she didn’t listen anyway.
’Not even Fla of Lust is enough to ta Awilix’s laziness.’
Though sowhere in that truth, Vale was happy his effect hadn’t been so potent as to change his Champion’s personality.
At least not yet.
In any case...
Vale’s curiosity and concern led him to his current situation — an experint.
Alone in the training room with Sivian and Awilix.
Like any good scientist, he was going to test his hypothesis.
Albeit it was a bit of an extre asure, he was going to take it.
He was going to spar Awilix...
And let her drink so of his blood to test Sivian’s reaction.
Of course, Awilix wasn’t told of Vale’s plan, nor was Vale going to just cut himself and stick his hand in her mouth.
He was going to spar naturally, but fling splotches of blood in the midst.
Sivian, being Ergent, should easily be able to catch as Vale’s blood leaks into Awilix’s mouth.
’I wonder how she’ll feel when Awilix spits it out.’
