Colin POV
I didn't know how long I was unconscious but when I woke up all the people around were gone and the door was completely destroyed, nothing more than glass shards on the ground. The air wasn't filled with black mist anymore but it was hanging low to the ground looking almost like it was depleted. Getting up I looked around but the place was devoid of people as far as the eye can see. My hairs stood on end and I could feel an overhanging sense of dread in the air, a feeling of strangeness and wrongness as the once crowded streets were devoid of people, with no trace of where they might have gone. Feeling a bit under equipped, I went into the kitchen and grabbed the biggest knife I could find before leaving the restaurant to search for answers. Walking down the street, the place truly felt like a ghost town with no one on the streets, with only the abandon cars piling along the streets and the abandoned bags on the sides of the road to remind that people lived here once. And the low hanging mist didn't help to ease my tension as it only made the town seem more gloomy and made wonder even more what happened to the others….and why the sa thing didn't happen to .
After an hour of searching for anyone, I stumbled upon soone who looked unmistakenly human. Standing in the middle of the street was a man in a tattered business suit, and an unsettling presence surrounded him, but I approached anyway. He was just standing there not moving an inch and I knew that I should have realized sothing was very wrong but I was too excited to find soone else in this gloomy place that I didn't even question his strange behavior and simply rushed forward to ask him what the hell happened? Where did everyone go? And why was he the only one still in the town?
"Hey!!" I shouted as I ran towards him and tapped his shoulder.
*Snarl*
Suddenly the man turned around and snarled at . The man's face was gray as if deprived of blood, his eyes were blood shot radiating wild, unrestrained madness, rage and hunger while his teeth was black like charcoal. The man lunged at bearing his teeth that looked more like the fangs of an animal at this point. I was slow to react due to how surprised I was, and how fast the guy was, that he managed to bite on my left shoulder.

The pain shook out of my stupor as I pushed the man off . Clutching the knife that was still in my hand I stabbed the man in the chest but he didn't even flinch and lunged at again. This ti I had the presence of mind to dodge and run away from this creature but it followed and snarled crazily. Eventually I ran into a clothing store that looked like it was robbed with mannequins lying everywhere. I closed the door behind and braced against it as the man banged onto it like a crazed beast. Looking around. I searched for anything I could use as a weapon when I spotted a tal rod on the ground. Quickly I dashed towards the tal rod and picked it up and not a second too soon as the man broke the door off it's hinges and rushed at . He swung his hand at but I managed to dodge and swing the tal rod onto the man's head causing him to fall to the floor. But he was not fazed as he tried to get back on his feet imdiately but I wouldn't let him. I continued to swing the tal rod unto his head over and over again, black blood splattered all over the place and unto my face and as my arms fatigued and I started to wonder if this bastard was immortal I noticed that he stopped trying to get up.

Just I was wondering what the hell was going on an even larger screen appeared in front of . The screen was black in colour with blood red letters making it look really fucking scary, and I jumped in surprise. As questions ran through my head about what the actual fuck was going on with the world itself and this scary as fuck screen in my face. Questions ran through my mind like water in a canal, when I suddenly rembered that I killed a man but I didn't really care. And the complete absence of any guilt scared .
'Why should I feel guilty? That guy just tried to kill and he behaved more like a zombie than an actual human. He has black blood and black fangs for crying out loud.' I thought, but the absence of any guilt whatsoever still felt troubling. My mind soon drifted back to the mysterious screen before and as I stared at it wondering what these different words ant, I actually got so answers.

Looking at the 'answers' I got, I almost fainted on the spot. If the information is to be believed then I wasn't even a human anymore, which would explain the lack of guilt I was feeling. Suddenly cold sweat dripped down my face and I rushed towards one of the bathrooms and looked into the mirror. I sighed in relief when I saw that I didn't look that much different from before. I was only a bit paler than before, sothing a bit of sunlight could fix, and if anymore of those….things are around, I will be getting a lot of UV rays in the foreseeable future. My irises also had a strange red tint around them, which wasn't really noticeable unless you looked closely.
'Whatever, humanity is over rated anyway.' I thought, trying to cheer myself up, but I knew, deep down, that whatever that strange mist did to , was much deeper than just removing my guilt. As much as humanity is overrated, I would not give it up so easily.
