[Synthia POV]
As the sky turned dark, marking the end of the fourth day since the dinsional barrier cracked and caused this tragedy. I walked the halls of the mansion, admiring the clean white walls and the potted plants sitting on golden pedestals, looking mystical and beautiful, as was the nature of all things holy. The red carpet was soft and free of dust, and I sincerely hoped it stayed that way, but these humans aren't.....sigh. I walked past many humans in the halls who were admiring the art and the mansion, looking refreshed as they wore fresh clothes, laughed and talked with one another as they desperately tried to forget what was happening outside. The poor fools. As I walked past them, they looked at with awe and reverence, and I nodded towards them politely, not stopping for a second as I had important things to do. I headed deeper into the mansion, sowhere that I had restricted human access and pushed open a golden door.
Inside the private room, golden lines snaked across the floors and walls, connecting to a floating, golden orb on a white pedestal. The floating orb emitted the soft golden glow of holy energy, bathing in golden light and I sighed in relief before turning towards the seven holographic figures before , the seven Angels that watched over the other Sanctuaries. I'm pretty sure Colin would be stoked to learn that there were only eight of us on Earth, not quite the army he was imagining I'm sure, but it would be more beneficial for if I allowed him to think that there were more of us here than there were.
"Greeting Synthia. Do you have anything to report?" Asked one of the translucent figures. He was a middle aged man with silver hair, not from age, but because that was his natural hair colour and sharp silver eyes. He had a neatly trimd beard and a muscular build that his gold accented white robes couldn't quite hide.
"Yes sir. I found a Demon while I was out on patrol today." I replied sincerely
"A Demon, you are saying that a Demon managed to escape the Underworld already but the crack is too small for that." Said another one of the translucent figures in a panicked tone. This one looked like she was in her early 20s just like . She also had silver hair and blue eyes.
"No, this one didn't co from the Underworld. He is a human that managed to keep his sanity during demonization." I replied and the silver haired girl imdiately cald down.
"Is he a problem?" The man, Mr. Ziek, asked
"No. He might be a bit cautious but it's not like he doesn't have a reason to. He actually agreed to help with the Sanctuary and he even brought a group of humans here from City A." I said. She had asked Claire and the others about their journey here and they were more than happy to tell her everything. Apparently, although Colin can be a cold and secretive asshole at tis, her words not mine, he did do everything in his power to keep them alive and no one died during the trip here. Which was enough to reassure that he cares about humans, which ans he might not attack the sanctuary unless provoked. But I will still need to be on my guard.
"That is impressive." Mr. Ziek said, while stroking his neatly trimd beard.
"I think you should kill him." Said another one of the transparent figures. This one looked like a teenager around sixteen years old. He had curly blue hair and green eyes, and an ever present frown on my face.
"And why should I do that?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Even if he's not a threat now, he will be in the future once he chooses a family to join so we should eliminate him now while he's still weak." The boy said.
"Well yeah, I don't think I can do that." I said while rubbing my forehead in frustration.
"And why not?" The boy asked with a raised eyebrow. I didn't say anything and just took out the sa monocle I used on Colin earlier. I held up the monocle in the air and a hologram appeared mid air showing Colin's status to everyone. I could see their eyes scanning his status, morizing each detail in the event they encountered the Demon themselves.
"As you can see, he has a number of traits and even has [Hell Fire Affinity] which makes him quite the difficult opponent." I said which wasn't a lie. I possessed [Heavenly Flas Affinity], which was a direct counter to his hell flas, they would cancel each other out in a fight, turning the battle in a war of attrition, one that I couldn't win. Not in this realm anyway.
"(Sigh) I see." The boy said
"The [Hell Fire Affinity] isn't much of a problem since you have it's counterpart [Heavenly Fire Affinity] and you have more experience than this Demon so you should be able to beat this Demon in a fight. So can you tell what the real problem is?" The man asked
"Well, I'm not sure I can protect the Sanctuary by myself and teach the humans how to cultivate and create holy weapons at the sa ti. Which ans that the [Holy Territory] won't grow fast enough and expand far enough before the cracks widen even further. I'm assuming you guys are facing a similar problem?" I asked and the others simply nodded their heads.
"Don't worry, the [Holy Territory] should grow strong enough so that I can evolve before he does and then I'll decide what to do then." I said
"Good luck." The boy said and his hologram disappeared and soon after the others disappeared as well one by one.
"Watch your back Synthia." The man said, he was the last to disappear.
"Hopefully Colin doesn't turn against ." I sighed and walked out of the room.
