"I want to see what exactly they can do so let's step outside. Unless you guys don't want to." I said walking towards the door.
"Let's do this, I have been wanting to put you in your place for a while now." Said Kirt as he walked behind and the others soon followed. Synthia just sighed and followed after us along with Alice who created an umbrella-like object from the shadows to shield her from the sun.
"Aren't you going to transform into a Demon?" Claire asked as I stood outside, stretching while still in my human form.
"No." I said, I decided to fight in my human form since my Demon form would be overkill, and I wanted to gauge their strength, which I couldn't do if the fight was over in seconds. I did however decide to use my cursed sword that I always kept close to .
"Well that just makes things easier for us then." Claire said before she charged at along with Kirt and Tim leaving Roxy behind. She swung her sword at but I easily parried it away then Tim ca in with a horizontal strike, which I blocked and allowed the force of the blade to spin out of the way of Kirt's spear, much to his frustration.
"Don't get in my way, Tim." Kirt said and charged at with his spear held tightly in his hand and he thrust the spear at my head but I leaned my head to the side and then grabbed the shaft of the spear. He tried to pull the spear from my hand but I wouldn't budge. I spun around with the spear in my hand and then released it which sent him flying into the side of the house. Oops.
The other two just shook their heads before charging at once more. As they ran towards , their swords started to glow with a dull golden energy, indicating they were using so trait or skill fueled by holy energy. As I prepared to intercept them, I sensed sothing flying towards , looked around and saw a golden arrow flying towards my chest and I knew it was from Roxy. I easily grabbed the arrow and crushed it in my hand causing it to turn into golden sparks. By this ti the other two had reached and both swung at with horizontal strikes so I jumped into the air to dodge. While in the air I conjured a fireball and threw it at their feet and then made it explode sending them both flying from the impact but without any serious injury. An arrow flew at while I was in the air but I easily smacked it to the side. I soon landed on the ground and then I imdiately shot towards Roxy. She fired golden arrows at but I dodged all of them and then I swung my sword at her neck but stopped a few inches before the blade could cut her and I could see sweat trickling down the side of her face.
"You lose." I said loud enough for all of them to hear. I could hear soone clapping and turned around to see Alice clapping her hands and Synthia looking at strangely. She was looking at like she found sothing about strange, but couldn't quite put her finger on it. She looked like she wanted to pry the secrets out of , and I wondered what exactly she found strange about all of a sudden.
"I guess you guys will be helpful fighting tier 2s but you guys can't handle tier 3s just yet." I said while walking back into the house. Kirt groaned as he got up off the ground and the other two did as well while Roxy who was the only uninjured one simply walked after .
"Okay now will you tell what you ant by 'here too'." I asked as soon as all of us entered the house.
"Fine. As you know there are other Angels on Earth and they are taking care of other Santuaries such as this one. Throughout the week I have been getting reports of Santuaries being attacked by demon species and four of the Santuaries were destroyed." Synthia said with a sad expression.
"My lady…" Claire said and went over and tried to console her.
"Does that an that the Angels were killed or did they manage to escape?" I asked
"Three of them died and the other one managed to go back to Heaven although I doubt she will ever co back here again." Synthia said with a sad sigh
"And what happened to the humans?" I asked
"Colin, I think that's enough." Claire said but Synthia answered anyway.
"They were either killed or turned into Demons. I was told that tier 4 Demons were spotted so them being turned is an option." Synthia said and I started processing what she just said.
"Couldn't you get more Angels to co to Earth?" I asked curiously
"No, most of them aren't interested in what goes on here and I'm pretty sure once word of what happened to the four Santuaries spread, if it hasn't already, no one will want to co here." Synthia said with a sigh.
The situation was looking more and more dire. If Demons continue to co from the Underworld and we can't expect any reinforcents from the Angels then it's more than likely that the human race will soon beco extinct, an outco that I didn't want. Then again, the less Angels I had to deal with the better for .
*VROOOOOOOOOOOO *
"What is that? Is that a horn?" Alice asked as the sound reverberated through the air.
"That's a war horn. Don't tell ." Synthia said and then walked outside. She instantly transford into her angel form and grabbed both Claire and Tim and flew into the sky.
"Grab those two." She said as she flew away.
"Alice stay here we'll be right back." I said as I transford into my Demon form. I grabbed Tim and Roxy and then I flew after Synthia. We followed the sound of the horn and soon found ourselves at the city gate.
"What the…." I could hear Tim mutter under his breath and his face paled a bit, in fact all four of the priests faces paled and with good reason. In front of us stood a small horde consisting mostly of imps but at the helm of the horde were four taller red skinned humanoids including the one blowing the horn.
