As I soaked in all this information an ad on the side of the screen caught my attention. It's title read 'Sanctuary', and I read it excitedly, but not too excitedly just in case it was bullshit.
[The wrath of demonic forces are upon us as Demon Miasma spreads and infects everyone transforming them into undead thralls for their demonic army and if we don't co together and fight against it as one then no one will survive. So we invite everyone to co and fight with us under the safe banner of Sanctuary.]
The voice of the person sounded female and her voice had a sense of veiled urgency in it. At first I thought it was so kind of religious thing but when she ntioned Demon Miasma I knew it wasn't since I wouldn't have known what the black mist was without the weird interface. I was intrigued since they probably knew more about what was happening than I did, and I made up my mind to go check it out as it might be the most informative lead I have. After the prompt ended a few addresses were shown from all over the continent and the closest one to was in City B which was afew hundred kiloters away from K town. So a road trip I guess. With a destination in mind I realized I needed a car and I had a wide selection to choose from in the underground parking lot of the police station.
There was a wide range of vehicles in the garage from race cars to armoured trucks. I soon found the one that I wanted, an armoured police car with short silver spikes jutting out of it's rims and a sturdy black outer fra. The perfect vehicle for moving through streets clustered with stationary vehicles. Not to ntion it's ability to leave an undead a mangled ss on the side of the road. The keys were kept in a padlocked container but I simply broke the lock with a rock and took the keys getting inside the car was comfortable and I also found two walkie - talkies inside. I drove out of the garage satisfied with my gains as I sped down the street, hitting cars and other vehicles out of my path with a grin on my face. I could have left town imdiately but decided to go back ho first.
I went inside my house to grab so food, clothes and most importantly take a bath. I was covered in blood and reeked of death. I took a long bath knowing that I won't be able to do this again in a long while and after my bath I got dressed with a refreshed look on my face. I wore a pair of black pants, white shirt and a black hoodie, I also clipped the gun holsters around my waist and placed the hand guns inside. Now I looked handso and dangerous. Pleased with my new, clean appearance I left my house with a bag full of clothes, food and water.
And just like that I left K town, my ho for many years now. I drove in the direction of City A since driving through it was the quickest way to City B but it was also the most perilous as well, I knew that a city was going to be inhabited by tons of undead thralls and maybe even more powerful monsters as well because of it's high population. But hey, that also ans I could grow stronger as well giving a higher chance of surviving this apocalypse. As I drove on the highway to City A, there were many abandoned cars and a few corpses as well but I simply dodged a few of them with my superhuman reflexes or ramd through the ones I couldn't dodge or because I just felt like it. And after a few hours of driving, I reached City A without seeing a single thrall, weird, and I have to say the place was a ss. There were abandoned vehicles everywhere and corpses in various states strewn all over the ground. I inspected a few of them and I noticed that a few of them were humans when they died as red blood caked their wound, and most of them possessed bite wounds, with chunks of flesh missing as the undeads feasted on their corpses, but I could tell that that wasn't what killed them. More than a few of them had bullet wounds in their heads, clearly to prevent them from turning into undeads. Other corpses were clearly undead thralls, their bodies leaking black blood and riddled with bullet wounds, or their heads removed, clearly done by humans.....or maybe others like . Other corpses were clearly undead on undead violence as they were violently ripped apart.
'Three days? It took only three days for the human race to be reduced to this.' I thought as a strange emotion filled my heart, sothing between disgust and scorn. I quickly shook my head before turning away from the corpse and heading back towards the armoured police car.
I activated my [Aura Vision], searching for any signs of living creatures or any undead ones while I continued driving through the city and soon I spotted a red aura and drove towards it. Soon I spotted more and more until they started to number in the hundreds causing my face to grow pale. I turned off the car engine, grabbed my stuff and stepped out of the car before continuing in the direction on foot, curious why so many undead thralls were gathered in one place and soon I found out why. Getting closer, I spotted a small cluster of light blue aura which I could only guess were humans. Deactivating the skill I saw that I was at the City A University and the undead thralls were prowling the campus grounds. It was currently sumr so there shouldn't be many students on campus but if I had to guess the blue auras were students who stayed behind on campus. Now I had a choice to make, do I brave the dangers and rescue the trapped humans inside like any decent, human person would do? Or do I abandon them to their faith like the demon I will beco?
