The stray was in a sorry state. All of its legs had been broken off, and its back bore marks of severe injuries.
Bood seeped into the floor, and it roared constantly, like a beast at the rcy of its prey.
The cunning and cruelty of this stray had left a lasting impression.
Lessons learned from mistakes and failures were often the most morable and serve as a driving force for rapid growth.
A re task of hunting down a stray devil allowed Sona to witness the slight growth of her peerage. This made her frown and wonder if her previous training model was bad.
Perhaps, as Yasuhiro had said, she should make hunting down stray devils her primary training from now on.
If she followed Yasuhiro's model, it wasn't just about simply hunting down strays through assigned missions, it also included taking the initiative to investigate and kill stray hiding in the dark.
Sona realized that this was a training model for exorcists.
Sona couldn't help but wonder if this was really appropriate. Using training as an excuse to investigate and hunt down strays might incur the displeasure of so of the old tirs in the underworld.
Sigh, the reality is so cruel.
If she doesn't do certain things, she'll get criticism from others. Similarly, if she did too much, it'll cause dissatisfaction among certain people.
...
Yasuhiro and Sona's sensed sothing.
A stray...?
There was actually a stray approaching.
This surprised the two of them, as the aura and sounds of battle emanating from both Tsubaki and the previous stray were enough to drive away many of the shadows lurking in dark.
After all, the aura of a High class is enough to intimidate even the most stubborn idiots.
"No, this stray devil is injured, and it also carries a familiar aura..."
Yasuhiro could clearly sense the power of light on the stray. As a mber of the church, he was sensitive to the power of light. The only problem was that this power was filled with the scent of a fallen angel.
"Interesting."
Yasuhiro felt that the demonic spider had brought less experience and benefit to the council mbers. Next ti when they recieve a similar mission, he was going to suggest fighting stronger enemies.
Who would have thought this would happen?
There was no need to wait for the next one.
Now, a stray had appeared, and the stray exorcist chasing after it, was at least middle class.
"This..."
Yasuhiro told Sona about the power of light on the stray devil and the possibility that there might be a stray exorcist right behind it.
"Don't worry, there is no need to fret about their safety. If their lives are truly in danger, we can intervene then."
"You saw the battle, those few of them were able to defeat that stray. We should trust them."
Sona nodded, agreeing with what Yasuhiro said. Her peerage had lacked too much of this experience, and if it didn't endanger their lives, there was no reason to object.
Although Tsubaki and the others had depleted their demonic power and stamina, so had their opponents.
The middle class devil had been injured by the stray exorcist, and the fact that it had managed to escape from his grasp suggested that the exorcist wasn't an exceptionally powerful one either.
"They have arrived."
As expected, just as Yasuhiro had predicted, a mad exorcist entered his perception range.
"Oh! This makes things even more interesting. I take back what I said earlier, he is not soone that the girls can handle."
Sona asked in confusion, "You know him?"
Yasuhiro nodded and said, "Yes, he was an outstanding exorcist in the church, second only to the top tier. Before being excommunicated by the church, he possessed the strength of a middle class."
"However, his experience in hunting devils is enough for him to hunt any middle class and he is even capable of fighting against a high class"
"Most importantly, when I was at the church, he was one of my subordinates. However, his obsession with hunting devils escalated to the point where he took pleasure in it, leading to his excommunication."
This was the first ti Sona had heard anything related to Yasuhiro's ti in the church.
Normally, Yasuhiro never discussed about his past there. Since he didn't talk about it, Sona wouldn't pry, given the opposition between the two in terms of their factional statuses.
"It seems Tsubaki and the others were quite lucky this ti, that guy looks depressed."
Sona was worried about her peerage.
Dealing with stray exorcist was sothing even Sona herself rarely encountered, let alone Tsubaki.
There was no need to even talk about their lack of combat experience against such an enemy.
