Mabel Quinn was surprised and couldn’t help but walk closer, calling out, "Uncle, Uncle?"
After she called several tis, Edward Quinn finally seed to co to his senses, stiffly turning his head, and his gaze fell dazedly on her.
At that mont, Edward felt as if his whole being was in a daze, almost unable to distinguish reality from illusion. It was the identification center from Country Y calling him, informing him that the samples he had provided earlier had results, confirming that the two were indeed in a parent-child relationship. And the detailed report would be mailed to him.
Upon hearing the confirmation of the parent-child relationship, Edward felt like the blood in his entire body had stopped flowing, and his heart beat so fast, he could hear each beat clearly.
Mabel... really was the child of him and Clover! Really!
The samples he took at the ti included a tissue stained with Mabel’s blood and his own blood, collected on the spot.
And now, the results were out!
His child... all these years, right under his nose, yet he knew nothing. He knew the suffering and hardships this child had endured, but at that ti, he had even reached out to help, and so facts he only learned about later through investigation.
She was supposed to be born into the Quinn Family, receiving endless care, ant to grow up as the rightful young lady of the Quinn Family, yet she wandered outside. If Asher hadn’t investigated deeper and found Mabel, adopting her back then, then now... what kind of person would she have beco, what experiences would she have gone through, it’s hard to imagine.
It’s all his fault. He didn’t truly believe in Clover. From the beginning, he thought the child Clover was carrying wasn’t his. That’s why he easily trusted the paternity test of the past without investigating further, leading to him discovering his real child after so many years.
At this mont, looking at Mabel, Edward couldn’t help but shed tears.
Mabel was startled, not expecting her uncle to cry so suddenly, and quickly approached him, saying, "Uncle, what’s wrong?"
Edward looked at his daughter before him, unable to get any words out, he just held her tightly in his arms.
This was his daughter! His daughter, the child Clover risked everything to bring into the world. But he missed all those years of being a father, and he still rembered when Asher brought her as a child to the main Quinn family to ask for the longevity lock, he casually glanced at her and directly refused Asher’s request.
