"Alright." The horoom teacher quickly responded, as Mrs. Field seed to be scared out of her wits.
Mabel Quinn was about to leave holding her daughter’s hand when Kyle Kinston suddenly approached.
"You..." Her words just started when he carried her horizontally.
"Your foot shouldn’t walk too much," he said, then lowered his head to the little carrot head at his feet, "Walk beside , understand?"
The little one blinked, then nodded.
So the two big ones and a little one left under the watchful eyes of everyone in the office. Only then did Mrs. Field collapse to the ground as if all her strength had been drained.
The horoom teacher hurried forward, saying, "Mrs. Field, what’s wrong? Are you alright?!"
"What shall I do..." Mrs. Field said frantically, "How... how will I explain this to my husband when I get ho, he’ll scold to death... I... I..."
She couldn’t continue, and there was no one who could give her an answer. The horoom teacher could only help deal with Bella Field’s injury. She had just gotten scratched a few tis during her fight with Katherine Quinn, but the slap from her own mother had swollen half her face.
This mother... usually looks quite fond of her daughter, yet in tis of trouble, she turns like this! People unaware might think she was the stepmother, the horoom teacher sighed inwardly.
Mabel Quinn was carried all the way to Kyle Kinston’s car, and the little one also climbed into the back seat. Kyle glanced at the little one’s figure, suddenly seeming to think of sothing, and said to the driver in the front seat, "Get a child seat for the car later."
"Yes," the driver responded.
Mabel Quinn didn’t bother to care about Kyle Kinston’s intentions; she couldn’t stop him from acknowledging his daughter, but she wouldn’t be with him again.
The little one wasn’t sitting in this car for the first ti; she rode it yesterday too, so she wasn’t overly curious now. At the mont, she was more curious about Kyle Kinston and her mom.
"Mommy, why did Uncle Kyle say he is my daddy? Isn’t daddy in heaven and can’t co back?" The little one asked quizzically. For her young age, she was already a bit confused.
Mabel Quinn looked at her daughter and felt her throat dry up. After a long while, she finally said, "Yes, he is your daddy." She didn’t want to lie in front of her daughter.
Even if she lied now, soday, her daughter would know the truth.
"Did daddy co back from heaven?" the little one asked. At her age, she sowhat understood death and knew that going to heaven ant dying and not being able to co back.
"No," Kyle Kinston said, "I... uh, daddy..." When he called himself daddy in front of his daughter, he still felt sowhat awkward, "Daddy was sick and forgot about you and mommy, but now daddy will rember things about you and mommy and won’t forget anymore."
The little one tilted her head, as if sizing up Kyle Kinston and trying to digest this fact.
"So you really are my daddy?" The little one asked in her childish voice, her expression quite serious.
"Yes." Kyle Kinston’s answer was equally straightforward.
"Then will you love very much? Mommy said, daddy would love Ivy very much." The little one stated.
