"A few more glances?" His fingers traced the spot of the footprint repeatedly, yet unable to erase it, "Mabel Quinn, what right do you have to take a few more glances at this painting? Who do you think you are!"
"I..." She choked, "I truly didn’t an to step on it. Why don’t I go and see if I can find a master to repair this footprint with so paint."
He turned his head, a chilling gaze fixed on her, making her heart tremble. She always thought his eyes were beautiful, much like those of the older boy she t when she was young.
But only now did she realize that these eyes could also be so frightening, chilling her to the bone.
"Get out!" He spat out the word coldly.
She stood up and slowly walked to the door, turning back to see him still clutching the painting.
"Today’s incident, I’m really sorry, so sorry!" Mabel apologized once more before leaving, realizing that he did not want to see her at all now, and her staying would only add fuel to the fire.
But Daniel Harris just continued staring at the painting in his hands, his fingers gently caressing the face of the girl with the blank face, as if handling the most cherished thing in his life.
