Water droplets slid down his wet hair and landed on her neck, causing her to shiver slightly.
She gazed intently at him, as if she saw a hint of unease in his eyes. Was she mistaken? Mabel Quinn blinked, trying to see more clearly, but in the next mont, his gaze turned dark and unfathomable, revealing no emotions.
"It’s the truth." Mabel nodded. The lie she told him on his birthday before, although her intention was to avoid worrying him, the consequences taught her a lesson.
With Kyle, perhaps even the kindest lie is not as good as giving him the truth.
"Even if Daniel Harris really recognized , I am who I am, and he is who he is. Now that he can see, my childhood wishes have been fulfilled, and there’s no need to dwell on them anymore. Daniel Harris is now in the hospital, and naturally, those who care for him will do so. There’s no need for to get involved, and besides, I don’t want to get involved."
But when she said this, the image of Daniel Harris standing in front of her that day, with a look of painful regret when he recognized her, flashed in Mabel’s mind. In fact, she didn’t want to see him like that. After seeing him, there was no joy, but rather a feeling of absurdity and sorrow.
Don’t think about it, she told herself in her heart, erasing the images from her mind. Already on that day when she walked out from the police station, she had told herself that everything about Daniel Harris was no longer her concern.
After a pause, Mabel continued, "Kyle, I don’t know if you still care about the relationship between Daniel Harris and , but there will truly be nothing between him and anymore. The one I love is you. Daniel Harris used to be a good friend who shared hardships with in my childhood, a brother, and in the future... he will just be Daniel Harris."
Kyle Kinston’s eyelashes trembled slightly, his head slowly lowered, and his lips pressed against hers, "I was being petty."
The more he loved her, the less he wanted to share her with anyone else, not even a thought in her mind.
Such possessiveness, even he found it terrifying. Could she bear it?
Such an ambiguous posture, and his breath enveloping her, made her face flush red, "If you have nothing else to ask, let get up and blow-dry your hair!"
"Wait a bit longer." He murmured softly, his eyelashes slightly raised, his gaze shimring beautifully.
It was srizing, making one’s heart flutter.
Mabel stared blankly at the face so close to hers, montarily dazed. Even though she saw his face every day, she was still easily swayed.
Sotis she couldn’t help but think, if he ever seriously tried to seduce any woman, surely no woman could resist?
In her daze, his thin lips parted slightly, gently capturing her lips, sucking gently with deep affection...

In the hospital ward, Owen Finley looked at Daniel Harris sitting on the hospital bed, examined his current eye condition, then went through his previous dical reports, and said, "If you don’t take good care of these eyes, there will likely be issues. If it ever cos to the point of needing another surgery, there’s no telling if you’ll be able to see in the future."
