Grace Yowell widened her eyes in horror, only to see the other person grab her hand; in the next mont, intense pain spread from her fingers.
Fingers were being broken one by one, bones snapping, the pain going straight to her heart. But imdiately after, soone splashed cold water on her, waking her up.
In the end, her ten fingers hung in an unnatural state, but things didn’t end there.
The man who broke her fingers once again coldly unwound the bandages wrapped around her arm.
Grace Yowell struggled in fear, "What are you going to do?"
The man gave a sinister smile, "Don’t you love getting burned? Then why not let you burn all you want."
Grace Yowell scread, the fear now beyond anything she had ever felt. At that ti, she only ant to fra Mabel Quinn, but now... No, she definitely didn’t want to be burned... She still needed to make a coback; she had worked so hard to get all this, how could she lose it just like that...
But no matter how much she struggled, she could only watch as the steaming water got closer and closer...

In the evening, the TV in the bedroom was on, playing the daily news. Mabel Quinn sat cross-legged with her laptop on her lap, typing her resignation letter.

Though Daniel Harris’s face wasn’t clearly captured in the footage, Mabel Quinn could still recognize that the person lying on the stretcher was Daniel Harris.
The narrator’s voice continued analyzing the impact of Daniel Harris’s hospitalization on the Han Group’s stock price. Mabel Quinn couldn’t help but wonder why Daniel Harris was hospitalized. It seed... too coincidental, he had just co to her, and then... was hospitalized?!
"What, are you concerned about Daniel Harris being hospitalized?" Kyle Kinston’s voice startled her.
Only then did Mabel Quinn realize that Kyle Kinston had sohow already co out of the bathroom, wearing a bathrobe, with his hair still slightly damp.
"No," she shook her head, put her laptop aside, and was about to get off the bed, "I’ll get the hairdryer to dry your hair."
But before she could fully stand up, he grabbed her arm, and she stumbled, falling onto the bed.
Before she could get up again, Kyle Kinston’s body was already pressed against hers.
"Kyle, get up first." Mabel Quinn raised her hand to push his chest in a signaling manner.
