Naturally, because of dinner plans, after dealing with the chaos, Kyle Kinston sent so of the bodyguards back first.
Thankfully, the chaos didn’t turn into anything serious.
The dinner venue was chosen by Dorian Howards, a famous hotpot restaurant in J City. Dorian booked a private room, so the four of them were enjoying hotpot in the room.
Mabel Quinn found it quite rare, having four of them gather around for hotpot like this; it was indeed a first.
Only Alice Conley wore a sowhat pained expression. She didn’t mind having hotpot with Mabel and Kyle; being the occasional third wheel had its own amusing feeling. But the issue was sitting next to Dorian Howards!
"Stop making that face, weren’t you always clamoring for hotpot?" Dorian tugged at Alice’s cheek.
"When did I clamor for it? Stop making things up!" Alice quickly retorted.
"I didn’t say it, your mom told . She said you’ve been talking about wanting hotpot recently." Dorian replied.
Ugh, it was her own mother who sold her out, leaving Alice with nothing to say.
While having hotpot, all Mabel Quinn needed to do was focus on eating. Whatever she wanted, Kyle would prepare it for her and place it in her bowl.
Dorian remarked, "I have to say, Kyle, this is the first ti I’ve seen you ’serve’ soone like this." Indeed, serving seed like the right word; peeling shrimp for her, cooking at, pouring drinks, even asking for a warm beverage in case cold drinks were bad for Mabel.
Even when Mabel was sweating from the hotpot, the CEO himself would dab her sweat with a tissue, which truly amazed Dorian.
Knowing Kyle loved Mabel was one thing, but seeing this level of pampering was unexpected. It just goes to show, no matter how cold or emotionless a man may seem, if he truly loves a woman, he will spoil her endlessly.
Mabel’s face, already a bit flushed from the hotpot, turned even redder, while Kyle remained unaffected, continuing to peel shrimp for her with a gentle smile, saying, "In this world, only Mabel is worth my pampering."
Dorian was left speechless, realizing for the first ti his friend could deliver such affectionate words so effortlessly.
Mabel’s face was red enough to bury itself in her bowl.
Alice, anwhile, stood wide-eyed and open-mouthed. She was aware Kyle treated Mabel well; they had dined together once before. But the affection Kyle showed now was far beyond that.
Does this an Kyle loves her friend more and more? Alice wondered, only to hear Dorian’s voice next to her, "Stop drooling over Kyle. He’s already taken!"
Alice almost slipped off her chair. Was that how she was looking at Kyle?!
"I just admire how well Kyle treats Mabel; I can’t help but look a few tis," Alice explained.
"Alright then, let treat you better too, so you’ll look at a few more tis," Dorian said as he added Alice’s favorite hotpot ingredients to her bowl and even peeled shrimp for her.
Alice hurriedly replied, "No thanks, I can do it myself!"
