"To stop you from drooling over Kyle, let do it instead," Dorian said.
Alice was mortified, glaring at Dorian with her round eyes, but it was futile. His thick skin put hers to sha, and with Kyle and Mabel sitting at the table too, she had no choice but to grit her teeth and eat.
It seed like Dorian was getting a kick out of feeding her, occasionally placing dishes into Alice’s bowl until it was piled high.
"Are you feeding a pig or sothing? Stop giving more," Alice muttered, her mouth full.
Dorian chuckled, "Now that you ntion it, it does seem a bit like that."
Alice nearly choked on her food. Once she managed to swallow, she blurted, "What do you an? Are you saying I look like a pig?"
Dorian gave Alice a serious once-over and then earnestly said, "You’re cuter than a pig."
Alice was speechless, wishing she could shake him by the shoulders and shout, seriously, who talks like that?!
"Pfft,"
Mabel couldn’t help but burst into laughter. Truthfully, she always thought Alice and Dorian were quite a match; Dorian was so easygoing around Alice, and Alice was completely relaxed around Dorian. She just couldn’t understand why Alice was so hung up on this issue.
Alice saw her friend laughing and dragged out her words, "Mabel..."
"Sorry, sorry!" Mabel quickly stifled her laughter, though her eyes still twinkled with amusent as she looked at Alice.
Alice was at a loss for words, so she simply buried her head and continued eating.
As she ate, she couldn’t help but glance at Mabel and Kyle.
Such a striking couple! Alice had always thought Mabel was quite beautiful. Without makeup, she had a serene and graceful presence that was very pleasing to the eyes, and when she did wear makeup, she beca stunningly charismatic. Mabel’s creamy, alabaster skin was sothing Alice envied greatly back when they shared a dorm room, and Alice couldn’t resist touching her often.
As for Kyle, he was breathtaking, able to stand alongside any major star without being overshadowed—in fact, he often outshined them.
As Dorian and Kyle discussed Kyle and Mabel’s wedding plans, Alice couldn’t resist saying, "The kids you two have after marriage must be stunning. Could I be their godmother?"
Suddenly, the room fell silent, and the atmosphere turned awkward.
Alice blinked, sensing she might have misspoken, but she had no idea why.
What was wrong with what she said just now?
Mabel broke the silence first, smiling as she said, "Sure, if we have kids in the future, you can be their godmother."
When the al ended, on their way back, Mabel said to Kyle, "Don’t mind what Alice said; she didn’t an anything by it. But if we adopt children in the future, we can actually make her wish to be a godmother co true."
Kyle replied, "She’s your friend. Why would I mind what she says? It’s just that when it cos to the child issue, I can’t give you a perfect answer."
