"Soren, it’s not that we’re trying to embarrass them, but this embarrassnt was sought by Mabel Quinn herself. Besides, they’re the ones who want to leave now." Lyra Grant said, giving the manager a look.
The manager stepped forward, instructing the nearby waitstaff to clear all the dishes and glasses from Mabel Quinn’s table, clearly aning to drive them away.
"Would the two guests please leave quickly so as not to disturb other guests."
"Mabel, let’s go quickly." Katie pulled Mabel Quinn, wanting to leave cleanly.
Just then, the manager’s phone suddenly rang. Seeing it was a call from the big boss, he dared not slack off and quickly answered, but his face turned pale after hearing only a bit. Ignoring Lyra Grant and Soren, he hurried over to Mabel Quinn and Katie, smiling apologetically, "Ladies, I’m truly sorry for my tone earlier. I hope you won’t mind. Please return to your table, and all expenses today will be on the house."
Katie looked at the manager, who flipped sides faster than a book’s pages, sowhat unable to react for the mont.
Lyra Grant was equally baffled. She had been proudly watching Mabel Quinn get thrown out of the restaurant, not expecting the manager to chase after them in the next mont.
Lyra Grant stepped up quickly, speaking irritatedly, "Manager Zhang, what do you an by this?"
At the mont, the manager didn’t have ti to deal with Lyra Grant, focusing instead on pleasing Mabel Quinn and Katie, begging them to resu their al. During the call, the big boss had only said one thing, "Among the people you expelled from the store, there’s soone you absolutely cannot offend. Resolve this misunderstanding by any ans!"
"But..." The manager initially tried to explain, thinking he was helping the city secretary. Yet the boss’s subsequent words left him utterly panic-stricken.
"That person, even your boss might not be able to afford to offend. Do you think a re manager like you can afford to?"
So at this mont, the manager was apologizing profusely, wishing he could turn back ti, because then he wouldn’t have spoken so much in front of these two guests.
"Manager Zhang, what are you doing?" Lyra Grant said displeasedly, "Since when does your restaurant wave bills for such low-quality guests?"
Manager Zhang secretly resented Lyra Grant; if not for her, would he have offended an important person for no reason?
"These two ladies are VIP guests of the restaurant; there was just a misunderstanding." Manager Zhang said, "If Miss Grant has an issue, she’s free to dine elsewhere."
Lyra Grant was now feeling humiliated. Katie looked confused, and though Mabel Quinn didn’t understand why the manager’s attitude made a 180-degree change, she was very disgusted by such a person.
"Katie, let’s go." Mabel Quinn pulled Katie out of the restaurant.
The manager looked ashen as Mabel Quinn and Katie pushed open the restaurant door. Just at that mont, Soren suddenly spoke, "Katie, when it cos to your boyfriend’s issue, there are few people in J City who can help."
Katie’s body trembled slightly.
After they exited the restaurant, Mabel Quinn suddenly realized her phone, which she had been using to talk to Kyle Kinston, was still displaying "on call."
