"Then now you..." She looked up, glanced around, unsure of where they were, "how about I call 911?"
"No need, there’s stomach dicine in the car," he said, enduring the waves of sharp pain.
So, she followed his instructions and rummaged through the car for the stomach dicine, but there was no water. She said, "Wait for a mont." With that, she hurriedly ran off.
Kyle Kinston half-lifted his eyelids and, through the car window, watched Mabel Quinn run towards the direction of the streetlamp until her figure disappeared from his view.
Did she want him to wait for her... How long...? Would she co back? Or would she take this opportunity to run far away?
Her words of not forgiving him stopped him from continuing, because he knew he was truly afraid, afraid she might do as she said.
And her words of not loving him made him even more flustered and confused.
He thought breaking up was the best choice, but why... was it still so bad... He didn’t want to repeat his father’s mistakes, he thought he could control everything, but he couldn’t control his own feelings, nor control hers...
"Will... she co back..." he murmured, his broken voice filled with a sense of fragility. Will she? Or won’t she?
Knowing he shouldn’t cling to hope, so there would be no disappointnt, yet his eyes still couldn’t help but lift, gazing at the heavy night sky.
Suddenly, a silhouette ca into view, that figure running swiftly towards this direction.
It’s Mabel! She... really ca back.
At this mont, he suddenly felt a sigh of relief.
Mabel Quinn ran back to the car, with a bottle of mineral water in her hand. Luckily, there was a small shop not far from the streetlamp, and thankfully, her phone was still in her pocket when she went to take out the trash, allowing her to pay for the water and figure out their location.
She unscrewed the cap of the mineral water and then handed the stomach dicine and water to him, "Take the dicine first."
He glanced at her, took the dicine and water bottle, and swallowed the dicine with the water.
"Rest in the car for a bit." She helped screw the cap back on the water bottle, sat nearby for a while, and waited until he looked sowhat better before checking the ti on her phone. She then said, "While buying the water, I already called Secretary Yu and inford him of your situation, and sent him the location. He should be here soon." As she spoke, she reopened her side of the car door, planning to get out.
Suddenly, his hand grabbed her wrist strongly, "Where are you going?" he asked.
She said, "Secretary Yu will be here shortly, I need to go back."
But his fingers still clutched her wrist, "Why did you go buy water for ? Why didn’t you take the chance to leave?"
Mabel Quinn sighed, her gaze calmly settling on his face, "If it were anyone else, I would do the sa. There’s no particular reason, so you don’t need to overthink it."
As she spoke, she pried his fingers off her wrist one by one, "Goodbye, Kyle." She said in a very soft voice.
