The elevator reached the floor of the president’s office, and the two elevator doors slowly opened.
Alice Conley only felt her heart suddenly jolt, she took a deep breath and finally stepped out of the elevator.
"Alice?" Catherine Willis was sowhat surprised to see Alice Conley. By all rights, there was nothing today that required Alice to co over from the Studio, especially since yesterday Alice was asking her where Director Howards was.
All of this made Catherine feel a bit strange.
"Is Dorian in the office?" Alice Conley asked.
"Yes." Catherine replied, "Do you want to see Director Howards? I’ll go announce your arrival."
"Don’t!" Alice hurriedly said, afraid that Catherine might really announce it, and if Dorian Howards said he wouldn’t see her, it would be troubleso, "I... want to go directly to him."
She looked at Catherine, hoping she would agree, because if she really blocked her, it would be her duty after all!
Fortunately, Catherine didn’t block her and just smiled, "Alright then."
"Thank you!" Alice Conley said gratefully, then walked towards the president’s office.
"Alice." Catherine suddenly called out, "Are you serious this ti?"
Alice turned her head, looked at Catherine, and said very confidently, "More serious than ever."
Yes, she was serious. From the beginning, she was serious about him. She never treated it as a ga, never considered this feeling sothing that could be called upon or dismissed at will. She used all her feelings to love him, and all her strength to avoid and cut off.
When Alice Conley pushed open the door to the president’s office and walked in, she only saw Dorian Howards looking at sothing on the computer screen.
"Catherine? Could you make a cup of coffee..." He suddenly stopped when he caught sight from the corner of his eye of who had co in.
"I... I asked Sister Catherine to make so coffee for you." She said, just about to turn around but then heard his voice coldly.
"No need." His eyes fixed on her, "What are you here for?"
Under his gaze, she suddenly felt overwheld, as if all the prepared words before coming were completely forgotten, her mind turning blank.
At this mont, she just stared at him dumbly, forgetting what to say.
Silence spread in the room.
He suddenly gave a cold laugh, "Alice Conley, did you co here just to zone out in front of ?"
She snapped back, startled, oh God, what was she doing, she ca today to tell him—"I’m pregnant." These four words jumped directly out of her mouth.
Then the one who was dumbfounded beca him.
Dorian Howards almost couldn’t believe what he heard, his eyes abruptly widened staring at her, only feeling his heart rate accelerate rapidly at that mont.
"You said... you’re pregnant?" Even his tone inadvertently started to slip.
"Yes." She nodded vigorously. After saying she was pregnant, she actually started to calm down, "Yesterday, I went to the hospital for a check-up, and the result was that I’m pregnant. I also have the hospital’s test reports here."
As she was speaking, she took out yesterday’s blood test and ultrasound reports, as well as the doctor’s diagnosis explanation from her bag, then walked to his desk and placed them before him.
But he didn’t take them, just cast a complicated look at the papers in her hand for a mont, then looked at her and said, "You tell you’re pregnant, then want to show these reports, so what do you want?"
