In other words, no matter what, she is the victor, whereas Mabel Quinn, in the end, is nothing, just an intern at Morningstar.
Mabel Quinn replied coolly, "Gains and losses aren’t asured in a mont but over a lifeti. Wait until the books you write can be adapted into films, then co ask what’s the benefit."
"You—" Lyra Grant’s face flushed red, "just you wait and see!" With that, she stord back to her own office.
Mabel Quinn couldn’t be bothered to think much about it. Lyra Grant deliberately picked on her, and it wasn’t just for a day or two. Anyway, she’d deal with it as it ca. More concerning was how to handle things with Kyle Kinston.
After yesterday’s ups and downs, this morning, Kyle Kinston hadn’t said a word to her. She really couldn’t fathom what he was thinking.
But then again, he was after all a thirty-year-old man in a high position with rich life experience, while she was just about to graduate and step into society. How could she possibly guess what’s on Kyle Kinston’s mind?
Yet in the following days, Mabel Quinn almost never ran into Kyle Kinston, which was fine by her. At least she didn’t have to deal with him.
Thinking this, she felt as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
In the afternoon, when Mabel Quinn went to the library to do so research, she noticed increased security. The whole library had an air of strict vigilance, with everyone needing to show ID to enter or exit.
After entering the library, so areas were guarded by security and temporarily off-limits. Mabel Quinn asked around and found out that an important figure was visiting today, hence the security.
"There have been inspections before, but never like this. What’s going on this ti, that it’s so tight?" a citizen murmured softly.
"This ti is different. The person visiting today is Kyle Kinston, the business tycoon who recently arrived in J City," another clarified.
Mabel Quinn overheard this and was taken aback.
Kyle Kinston... is in the library too?
Mabel Quinn was pondering when suddenly so noises erupted in front, and the previously quiet security guards beca highly alert.
A group of people, encircled by security, was approaching in her direction. Among them, Mabel Quinn spotted Kyle Kinston conversing with so leader-like figures. In this group, many were dressed in suits, and the library director followed closely beside Kyle, answering questions from ti to ti.
The sudden sight of Kyle Kinston left Mabel Quinn in a daze until a security guard gestured for her to step back. She quickly complied, taking several steps back. The sight of Kyle Kinston clad in a suit accentuated his tall, lean figure and gave his handso face a commanding nobility, a stark contrast to the pained, disheveled appearance she’d seen one night.
Who would imagine this President could have such a side?
Suddenly, as if sensing sothing, Kyle Kinston’s gaze turned toward her. In that instant, Mabel Quinn felt her whole body stiffen, as if the surrounding people and sounds faded away, leaving only his presence in her eyes.
