"So back then, did you know about my mother leaving my father after your death?" Kyle Kinston asked.
Adrian Conley rubbed his sweat-covered hands nervously, stuttered, "I... I also found out unintentionally two years later."
"Two years later?" Kyle murmured softly, his gaze upon Adrian grew colder. "Why didn’t you show up then? Why didn’t you let people know you weren’t actually dead? Could you not guess that your sudden death might make my mother believe my father had killed you, leading her to flee?"
Adrian’s face turned pale as paper. He could more or less guess the reason, but... "I... I felt I was already a dead man, why bother appearing again to stir up trouble? Moreover, I thought, with your father’s capability, he should be able to find your mother."

Adrian’s body trembled, his thoughts completely exposed by the person before him. He indeed did not want to ruin the new life he had struggled to obtain. Everything had just begun; he had parents, a girlfriend who didn’t care about his illness and was willing to face the disease with him. He was very satisfied with this and wanted to bury the past completely.
With dark eyes full of mockery, Kyle said coldly, "If you had appeared back then, the situation might be entirely different now. If it weren’t for your sudden disappearance, then..." Mother wouldn’t have hated father that much, and she wouldn’t have hated him either. The pains he endured, the sufferings, the lost love, all because of this man’s selfishness!
"Adrian Conley, you really are happy, happy enough to make people jealous... But your happiness over the years is built upon two lives. Do you think you can still justifiably enjoy it?" Kyle said, every word carrying a strong sense of hatred.
Adrian suddenly shuddered violently, then dropped to his knees before Kyle. "I know, it’s all my fault, my selfishness, my assumptions—I never showed up, never let your mother know that I was still alive. As a result, I hard your parents. You can bla , hate , deal with however you want. But... my wife and daughter are innocent; they never knew about my past. Please, spare them!"
