"How is this possible!" she exclaid, "That’s Alice’s dad! You want her dad to leave his wife and daughter? Kyle, you wouldn’t ask this of Alice’s father without a reason, there must be a reason, right?"
Kyle Kinston suddenly let out a cold laugh, "Reason? Do you really want to know the reason? Fine, I’ll tell you. Alice Conley’s father is the fiancé my mother had back then! He only faked his death, but my mother thought my father didn’t try his best to save him, which led to his death, and she left my father because of it! And he, knowing that my mother left my father, and that my father was looking for her, never stood up to tell the world that he wasn’t dead. And the reason, simply because he wanted to abandon the past, he had started a new life!"
Mabel Quinn was stunned, how could this be?! Alice’s father was actually the fiancé Kyle’s mother had back then?!
And that man, he wasn’t dead!
It was all so unbelievable, yet it was truly happening. That fiancé seed to be the cause of everything, all the troubles between Kyle’s parents had started because of this fiancé.
And a man whom they all thought had died long ago was actually living well, had a wife and children, and was even fully recovered. This... this is just... like a huge irony.
For a mont, Mabel felt as if all the words were stuck in her throat, she didn’t even know what to say.
"So, Mabel, stay out of it." His cold voice echoed in her ears.
When Mabel returned to the banquet hall, she was still in a daze, her mind was filled with Kyle’s words, unable to process them.
"Hey, Mabel, my dad is back, thanks for being the best man today, Kyle. Next ti when you and Mabel get married, Dorian will surely help to block the guests." Alice Conley smiled and greeted.
"You’re welco." Kyle Kinston said indifferently, maintaining his usual expression.
But Mabel couldn’t keep a normal expression, her heart was in turmoil, especially when she saw her friend’s smiling face, her heart felt even more pained.
If Alice’s father really leaves her, how heartbroken would Alice be? Today, seeing Alice’s wedding, she was envious that her friend still had her father, and could still enjoy his love.
But in the future, would Alice, who clearly has a father, beco soone without one?
Mabel’s heart was in utter chaos.
"Mabel, what’s wrong with you? Why do you look so pale?" Alice Conley asked.
"Ah, maybe... I’m just tired," Mabel Quinn hastily found an excuse.
"That makes sense, you’ve been with all day, and the banquet is almost over, why don’t you and Kyle leave first," Alice Conley suggested.
Just then, Dorian Howards ca back after another round of drinks with friends and walked over to Alice Conley, "What’s going on?"
"Mabel is a bit tired, I was just telling Kyle to take her back to rest," Alice Conley said.
Dorian nodded, "Yes, you should go back and rest, there’s nothing else happening now anyway."
