"Gold!"

The face within the fra was indeed Gold. At this mont, Bologue finally understood why he had remained in slumber for so long; Gold’s consciousness was trapped in the Joyful Garden.

The face in the fra asked, "Who are you?"

Bologue skillfully declared his identity, "Special Operations Group, Bologue Lazarus."

On Gold’s manic, unhealthy face appeared a puzzled expression. He was very familiar with Bologue’s na, and soon mories from the distant past resurfaced in his mind, filling him with both astonishnt and delight.

"Let’s save the introductions for later."

Bologue pinned the card to his chest to let Gold see from his perspective, and turned silently. Beyond the open train door, countless demons were racing across the wilderness, closing in.

Palr fired continuously, the speeding bullets blowing up one demon after another, but compared to their swarming numbers, the damage was just a drop in the ocean.

The Event Card ’Crossroads’ had allowed Bologue to find Gold. Although he was now trapped in a card, at least Bologue had found him. As a Defender, Gold was an important asset to the Order Bureau.

All the events in this round had been triggered, and the next dice roll was imminent. Bologue grabbed the dice and tossed it toward Bai Ou, not even glancing at the numbers rolled, and imdiately drew his Blade to take over for Palr.

Bologue shouted, "I’ll hold them off, you roll the dice!"

Through this period of gaplay, Bologue gradually understood this bizarre reality ga. While the current events had their effects, they could be offset through the next round of events. The results were quite random, possibly improving or worsening the situation.

Bologue climbed onto the roof, dual-wielding Blades that tore through many demons’ bodies. He was panting heavily, utterly exhausted.

Under intense and adverse events, even Bologue found it hard to sustain himself. His thoughts began to slow, his limbs grew stiff, and the relentless assault by the demons left no room for rest.

The demons relentlessly constricted their living space, causing even the most rational will to gradually lose clarity, leaving everything to aimless luck, turning them into a reckless gambler.

After Palr rolled the dice, he imdiately returned to his post. As he peered out, sharp claws swooped over his head, almost decapitating him. This dense concentration of enemies rendered firearms ineffective, so Palr instinctively pulled a grenade from his pocket.

This was also an Equipnt Card Palr had drawn. After the Blessing was Sealed, Palr felt his luck gradually returning, filling him with ecstatic joy.

"Heads up, explosion!"

Palr stuffed the grenade into a demon’s mouth, chopped off the arms clutching the train door with a Short Knife, then kicked it off the train. The figure rolled into the demon horde, exploding into a rapidly expanding fireball, scattering countless shattered stones and severed limbs, with warm blood splattering the carriage like ink.

The explosion’s shockwave nearly knocked Bologue off the train roof. He anchored himself by stabbing his Blade into the tal ceiling, tossing Flying Knives from his pocket, one by one hitting the demons’ heads. The bodies fell from the roof, so disappearing into the darkness, so being swept under the train, crushed into a mist of blood.

The explosion earned a brief respite. Hart raised a shield, turning himself into a flesh wall to defend the other side. It was his turn to roll the dice as Canary and Aimou hurried over to support the shield, keeping the demons outside the train.

Hart quickly rolled the dice and then switched personnel. Cinderella, agile in movent, dodged and darted around. Whenever others had a mont of rest, she would suddenly appear to tend to their wounds.

Due to the ga, Cinderella didn’t need any dical knowledge. Just by performing the "healing" action and intention, she could achieve healing.

The dice were rolled in sequence, Bai Ou reshuffled, rotating out new Event Cards.

Palr shouted, "Draw cards, everyone!"

The eerie aspect of "The Journey of Perpetual Night" was that not only would the contents of the ga beco reality, but sotis it would also break the boundaries of the story, progressing through dice rolls and card draws. If anyone delayed too long, the players would get stuck in a certain phase.

Following the order, Bologue extricated himself from the demon horde, covered in blood, and returned to the carriage. He reached to draw a card; the crisis drained his patience imnsely.

"Event Card: Full Speed Ahead."

Bai Ou narrated the upcoming event, "The Dawn’s fuel is sufficient and will gradually return to peak speed."

The train began to vibrate again, and just as Bai Ou said, it switched from a deceleration mode to one of acceleration, much faster than before. In an instant, it left the pursuing demons far behind.

Bologue breathed a sigh of relief; it seed his luck wasn’t too bad after all.

Palr rushed over, picking up a card and slapping it onto the board as Bai Ou’s voice rang out simultaneously.

"Event Card: Invasion."

The sound of tal plates clashing as the train doors opened, overlapping and converging into sonic waves.

Bologue and the others turned to the rear of the carriage. Since they boarded the train, the only area they could move in was this oddly spaced compartnt for playing the ga. But now, the once tightly closed door had vanished, replaced by a horizontally opening train door, leading not to the madly joyous space but to carriage after carriage of ordinary train interiors.

The compartnts beyond had all turned into normal train cars, and a heavy, bloody scent wafted through the opened door.

"You’ve escaped the demons’ pursuit, but so demons have invaded the train."

As the train slowed, many demons climbed aboard from the rear. Bologue took a deep breath, wearily lifting his Blade as he walked through the train door.

"I’ll deal with them; you keep pushing the events!"

Despite his nurous injuries, Bologue showed no fear.

"We can’t win."

A despondent voice sounded from his chest, reminding Bologue of the card pinned there that he had temporarily forgotten amidst the tense battle.

"We can never reach the end."

Gold’s eyes were deeply sunken, with lifeless eyes full of gloom. He spoke in despair.

"We will be eternally trapped in darkness, endlessly tortured."
