POV: Kyo
I tried to stay calm, but I was extrely nervous. How did this even happen? Wasn't the company supposed to handle this? They're useless! I shouted in my mind. My mother noticed the change in my expression and asked,
"Are you sure nothing happened?" Then she sat on the edge of the bed. "I'm feeling better now, thank you, Kyo."
"If you want, I can make so porridge for you."
"It's fine~~" My mother stretched, then after a few seconds of silence, staring at , she said, "I'm sure sothing happened. Your expression changed all of a sudden earlier."
"I already said it's fine."
"Does it have sothing to do with your work?"
"Sothing like that."
While I was answering her, I received a new ssage from Rina.
[We're already dealing with it. We're trying to contain it as best as we can. I'm sorry, Kyo, we were careless.]
I read the ssage and let out a sigh.
Before I could say anything, my mother took the phone from my hand.
She read Rina's ssage and looked at seriously. "What happened?"
"Soone published an article revealing my real identity."
"What!?" My mother shouted in shock. "What do you an? Who did it?"
"It was a woman. I t her before. She gathered a lot of evidence and put it online. I don't think there's any turning back now. I trusted the company to handle it, but they failed."
"Kyo…"
"You don't have to act like it's the end of the world. I didn't want to deal with this 'avalanche' right now, but it's fine. On the bright side, I'll get even more attention and bring more audience to the series I'm filming."
I gave a bitter smile.
"If you say it's fine, I'll believe you. But you need to be careful from now on, especially when you go outside."
"What is that? Do you think soone's going to try to kill ?"
"You definitely have so crazy fan—I wouldn't be surprised if sothing like that happened!"
"It's fine." I smiled at my mother. "I'm going to my room to reply to so ssages, then I'll think about what to do. I guess I'll keep working and ignore this for now."
"If you need anything, I'll be here."
"You don't need to worry about . Focus on recovering first."
"I think I should go to the hospital to see what's going on."
"Do you want to go with you?"
"No, no, it's better not. When your father gets ho from work, we'll go together."
"Alright."
I went to my room and started replying to the ssages that kept coming nonstop. First, I replied to Mr. Kuroda. He was desperate. He kept saying over and over, "It wasn't ."
He's afraid I'll accuse him of leaking information.
[Don't worry, I know who did it. This would've happened sooner or later.]
After a few minutes, he replied.
[Take care, author! We're receiving a lot of calls—I'm handling everything.]
A lot of people must be calling him to ask if I'm really the author. There are probably also people trying to get an interview with now that my identity has been revealed.
Huff~~
I sighed and sat in front of the computer.
The comnts on my latest tweet were increasing nonstop. There were even people posting photos of in the replies.
There were also many people praising .
[I didn't expect the author Aoi Haruki to be this handso~~]
[Wow, you're so handso. I'm speechless.]
[Not only is he talented, but he has an otherworldly appearance. I'm jealous~~]
Surprisingly, very few people were focusing on the fact that I'm only 13 years old. My age didn't seem to be a big issue for them. I guess that's a good thing, right?
The biggest criticism I saw was this one, from an older man I didn't know:
[He's only 13! A 13-year-old child shouldn't be working or writing those violent things! He started writing Overlord when he was only 4 or 5—that's not healthy at all! His parents should be held accountable!]
When I read that comnt, I got genuinely irritated.
I could pretend it's not and that the "evidence" is fake, but I don't care.
I quoted the tweet.
[Yes, I'm only 13, and I shouldn't be writing violent things.
My parents tried to stop , but I did it in secret. After they read what I wrote and saw my talent, they decided to let continue. And I love what I do!
Don't criticize my parents—that really makes angry.
I won't talk much about my past or my family. But know this: if you criticize my parents, I will definitely hate you for the rest of my life.]
The tweet blew up instantly, and I received a lot of supportive comnts.
My age really didn't seem to be an issue for 99% of people, but there were still so who kept criticizing because of it. They were all older people—probably conservatives.
It's better to ignore them.
And as I kept reading the replies, I even laughed at so comnts because they were funny.
[You're only 13? Then I can't be your girlfriend! I'm too old for that :(]
[Nooooo!!! My husband is only 13? I'm a criminal!]
[I feel bad. You're only 13 and have so much talent, and I'm 24 and can't even tie my shoelaces.]
[Teach how to be like you! I'm only 12 and want to write like you!!!!!! (Just kidding, I'm 22 and just want to et you and get an autograph)]
With a smile on my face, I closed Twitter and started replying to other ssages.
My classmates weren't fans of the author "Aoi Haruki," but they knew him.
They said the school had turned into "pandemonium" because of everything that was happening.
Well, they're all "kids" who are fans of the author Aoi Haruki.
And now they've found out that the most famous boy at their school is Aoi Haruki himself.
'I'm worried about what might happen if I go to school tomorrow.'
