Capítulo 3045: Naless
The man wasn’t lying. Even with the pitiful amount of aura the man had, he was close to becoming an Immortal. Perhaps even just a step away, but Han ngli was far too weak to be capable of noticing sothing like that, so he had to take his word for it.
The man started asking more questions about how Han ngli was getting his hands on the spirit stones when he didn’t have a Soul Space, but Han ngli wasn’t about to reveal such a thing without knowing much about the man.
He planned on keeping that to himself, but the man was so persistent that after a few days, he had to reveal it.
He showed the man the spirit stone mine.
The man was surprised at first, and Han ngli thought he would leave him alone, but the man then began asking how he transported the stones to the room.
After so ti, Han ngli revealed the wound on his arm as well, and how the demons tended to never search there.
Han ngli did, however, not tell the man about the demon he had killed or the storage bag he had from the demon’s death.
The man grew a little disappointed at finding that, but he did nothing.
As thanks, the man helped Han ngli, gathering ores for him. He was much stronger than even Han ngli with his Qi, which the man revealed was because he had a body cultivation.
It wasn’t a strong one, but in a place without Qi, any of it was useful.
The man was a bit taller than Han ngli, sowhat handso too, with long dark hair, although the years of slavery had scraped so of that away. He looked relatively young for soone who had been here for a few centuries, no older than his early thirties.
Han ngli asked for his na, but the man refused to give him one.
“My na stopped being mine the day I was taken a slave and stripped of all my rights and dignity,” the man said, fury burning in his eyes. “I shall bathe in the blood of the demons, and baptize myself to be born anew. And that will be the day I shall take upon my new na.”
If Han ngli knew anything about the man, it would be that he had a deep hatred for the demons. If nothing else, he knew now for sure that their goals aligned.
“You can call Naless for now,” he said. “That’s what most of the others call anyway.”
Han ngli nodded.
Naless quickly took charge of the spirit mine, determining how it was distributed.
“You’re giving it to people who lack Qi?” Naless asked. “You need to give it to the strong ones.”
“I’m giving it to people who I think need it to live,” Han ngli said. “They are barely making their quota every day, so I want them to survive.”
“Everyone wants to survive,” Naless said. “But certain sacrifices need to be made if you want to fight back. Our rebellion requires strong fighters, and the sooner they gain back their strength, the better it will be.”
“And what about the weaklings?” Han ngli asked.
“Sacrifices,” Naless said.
“No, I won’t do that,” Han ngli said. “We need numbers. The more that survive, the better it will be for us.”
“No, you need power. So long as the strong are strong, they can protect the weak,” Naless said. “This is a battle between cultivators. Do not be so naive to think numbers can help you in the slightest. You need one Immortal demon and our entire resistance will fall to pieces before it even starts. Power.”
Han ngli didn’t know how to argue with that. There were truths in those words, but he still wanted to protect as many as he could.
“Besides,” Naless said, “If you were really thinking about the weak, you would have long since shown them this spirit stone mine. You could have saved many more lives, but deep down you know those lives don’t matter as much as killing the demon and getting out of here does.”
“You can’t let wishful thinking stop you from doing sothing right.”
Han ngli sucked in a deep breath. In the end, he nodded.
“Now, we need to think about how we’re going to sneak into the treasury that should be on this site,” Naless said.
“Treasury?” Han ngli asked.
Naless nodded. “Weapons, armors, shields, artifacts—anything we can get our hands on will be incredibly useful for the resistance. But without that, we can’t even hope to start.”
He stared at the pickaxe he held. “I wish this were of a bit higher quality; then we could fight back with it too.”
Han ngli thought for a bit.
The next ti Naless left with his ores and returned, a few weapons had appeared in the empty spirit stone mine.
Naless’s eyes widened in surprise. “Where did you get those?” he asked.
“I made them,” Han ngli said. “I used to work in a forge and was in charge of refining weapons.”
Naless’s eyes sparked with newfound hope. “Great!” he said. “But we’ll need a lot more than this—thousands more.”
“I plan to make enough for all the people in the mine,” Han ngli said, despite already having it all ready. He didn’t want to reveal that right away.
“No,” Naless said. “More. There are other places where the slaves are gathered. They won’t let us see it, but I’m sure of it. My friends have been taken away over the years and have never returned.”
Han ngli nodded, having known about the other six groups of slaves.
With Naless taking charge, he quickly took control of the situation. He asked Han ngli not to reveal himself anymore and to let Naless be the front of the rebellion.
Han ngli was to focus on making weapons, while Naless would gather the necessary individuals to start preparing them for the upcoming battle.
Before Han ngli could even start, Naless had his own request. “I can use swords, but I would love it if you could make a weapon I’m way more used to.”
