Shumi's face was a sight to behold. Her eyes were wide open like two large saucers, looking directly at Alex.
"The... what?" she asked, refusing to believe that she had heard it correctly.
"The Undying God's Physique," Alex replied again, pausing slightly this ti. "I assu you know what it is."
Shumi nodded. "It's the single greatest inheritance of the demons that has been lost for over a hundred thousand years now," she said. "You have the Undying Physique?"
Alex nodded.
Shumi stared blankly for so ti longer before finding words to say.
"So... you are the 7th Undying God," she said.
"9th," Alex said.
"9th? There were two before you that we don't know about?" Shumi asked. The records she had read didn't ntion any of that.
"I wouldn't know what you know and don't know about the Undying Gods. I rely know that I'm the 9th," he said. "Actually, can you tell what you know?"
Shumi's eyes narrowed slightly as she began going through the records.
"The Undying God's Physique is capable of reversing all wounds, and even death. The physique is attuned to both life and death, and understands it better than any other being in the world. While soone with the Undying God's Physique may never die, in the instance that their death is inevitable, the physique will warn them." Alex blinked. "Warn them?"
"That's what the record says. The physique warns the Undying God of their inevitable demise as a asure of its own survival," Shumi said. She hesitated for a mont before saying, "So say that the Undying Physique is, in a way, alive and does what it does so the current owner of the physique may pass along the inheritance to soone else."
Alex narrowed his eyes. He rembered a mory he had received from the inheritance. In fact, there were more than one now that he considered it.
Each Undying God would leave behind the inheritance before going away to die. They all seed to know when their life would co to an end.
Alex wondered if Shumi was correct then. When it was ti for him to die, would the Undying Physique warn him to leave it behind as inheritance for soone else in the future?
"No one rembers the na of the first Undying God," Shumi said. "He is mostly referred to as just the Undying. The second Undying God was called Rosevine. Her real na isn't in the records, but it is said that she was capable of turning her arms into thorny vines, a manifestation of her Creation. She died over 800 thousand years ago." "The third Undying God, Blackdeath, is the most important one. Whenever soone speaks of the Undying God's effect in the war, this is who they speak of. His Creation was a Rockskull Bear, making him absurdly strong. He was the most pivotal figure in the recorded war, leading the demons to more victory than anyone else."
"It was a long ti before anyone was able to kill him."
Alex nodded with great concentration, comparing what he knew of the Undying Gods with Shumi's knowledge of them.
"The Fourth Undying God was a healer called Deathrune. He had so impact on the war, but not much. He remained mostly in the backline, dealing with wounded victims of war, never fighting on his own."
"There is little to no information about the 5th Undying God. Not even whether it was a man or a woman. There is conflicting information in the records to accurately tell what sort of person they were."
"A madman," Alex said. "He couldn't rember who he was because of what the inheritance did to his mind."
Shumi slowly nodded. "The sixth Undying God was Grayblade, who was unstoppable for a long ti before he finally disappeared before
the war ended."
"How long before?" Alex asked.
Shumi shook her head. "Impossible to tell. He just... vanished one day and was never seen again. Considering you have the Undying Physique, it is obvious that he died."
Alex nodded. "And you don't know where the inheritance went along with him."
Shumi nodded.
Alex tried going through his mories and added the remaining bit of information for him.
"The 7th Undying God was a woman who got the inheritance but didn't get to keep it with her for too long," Alex explained. "She was nearly killed before she had ti to grow and found herself in the 3rd Major Spirit realm-or as you call it, the Snowing Dusk realm-where she transferred it to a particularly talented man."
"That man was the 8th Undying God, who fought against the humans
for a long ti. He led a society of warriors inside a secret realm. That is the realm that is now in my Soul Space. From there, I ended up gaining the inheritance that man had left behind, making the 9th Undying God."
Shumi was in deep thought for a long ti when she heard about it. The mystery of the missing inheritance had now been cleared up, which her people would no doubt wish to learn.
"Is there a chance that you can co with to the demon realms once we're done here?" Shumi asked.
Alex hesitated for a mont before shaking his head. "I need to go find my family as soon as I can. Once I've found them, though, I can give it so thought. Why the sudden question?"
Shumi took a long mont to decide whether to say what was on her mind or not. After a while, she decided to confide in him her
thoughts.
"There is a prophecy written in the records," she explained.
"A prophecy?" Alex asked before his eyes narrowed. "About the
Undying God?"
She nodded.
"It is said that the Undying God will be the True God's biggest champion and that she will require him to bring salvation to the
world."
Shumi's eyes found his. "I believe it ans that if we were to start working together, we will finally be able to help everyone the way the gods desired them to be. We could maybe even put the old world back together."
