Alex fell into thought upon hearing what Ray was saying.

"Wait, so you're saying I'm using the Sun God's power, but indirectly?" he asked. "As in, instead of taking it all in, I'm letting it go to the Heaven first, and then taking what it can't handle?"

"Maybe," the bird said. "I'm not too sure myself. It could be that you take sothing that is there long before it reaches the Heaven. Or it could be sothing that has nothing to do with the Heaven entirely. I simply know that the Heaven does accumulate so of the energy that made the Gods who they were."

Alex narrowed his eyes. The Sun God did say sothing like that, didn't he?

He rembered the Sun God's words and recalled when he talked about how they chose the next vessel of the Sun God. They let soone be born with the body of the Sun God, and in the anwhile, they accumulated energy to pass along to a new body should the existing one die.

"Is the Heaven aware that it's doing this?" Alex asked, staring up

toward the ceiling. His spiritual sense quickly escaped the confines of the palace, going beyond the golden barrier of the White Tiger palace and into the sky.

He felt the Heaven up there, not focused on him precisely at first, but when he tried to probe it, its attention shifted and its focus landed on him.

As soon as its focus was on him, Alex felt it assessing him once again, just like it did when it ford the Heavenly Clouds. As it did, it once again checked to see if he was the Sun God.

Alas, he was not the Sun God.

However, instead of leaving him as he was, the Heaven appeared to accept him just a tiny bit. Alex felt his consciousness pulled away into

the Heaven and soon, he was a part of it.

Alex found himself standing in a hazy white space, no different from the one he first encountered with the Sun God, but this one was slightly different.

The one back then had been so very real, but this one felt quite unreal, as if it were a mory that would fade away in a mont.

What was he doing here?

As soon as Alex thought of the question, he heard a voice coming from all around the empty white space.

"You stand within the Heaven, child," the voice said. "You may ask the Heaven for sothing, and it shall be delivered should your request be fair."

Alex's eyes widened in surprise. It wasn't the answer that had surprised him, but rather the voice. It was a mix of a male and female voice. The male voice definitely belonged to the Sun God, so the female voice had to belong to the Moon Goddess.

What's more, this was exactly the voice he had heard a very long ti ago when he first made the Ritual oath. And just like that ti, the voice sounded quite weak.

Alex was suddenly thrown out of the Heaven, sent back into his own body. He stumbled backward in surprise and quickly caught himself. "Master?" Ray asked in a concerned voice. "Are you okay?"

Alex looked at the beast and quickly nodded. "I'm fine. Don't worry." It took him a mont to gather himself and think through what had happened. The Heaven's voice was the Sun God's and the Moon Goddess's voice, but it wasn't them. It was an entirely different entity, right? Besides that, Alex thought about what the Heaven had told him. 'Anything I ask, it will fulfill for ?' he thought with a frown. There was the stipulation that whatever he asked had to be fair, but still, it was quite incredible to imagine that the Heaven was willing to help

soone this much.

How had he not known about this before? How had this not beco common knowledge?

Alex quickly spoke to Ray, explaining his extrely short experience after connecting to the Heaven.

"Have you heard of sothing like that happening to anyone?" he asked.

"Not at all. But then, I'm not really soone who could tell you that,"

Ray said.

"Because you have no mories from before?"

"No, because Heaven didn't exist when I was alive," he said. "It was made later, after all."

"Oh, right."

Alex wondered who he could ask in that case. Would the progenitors

know anything? He could likely get into the Ancestral Pool now, given his connection, but there was no guarantee they would know much about the Heaven.

The ones that would likely know would be the old organizations with their eons-old records. Or...

"Rosemist would likely know. She knows everything," he told himself.

And that did make sense, considering who she was.

'A Child of Heaven, Alex thought before his eyes imdiately

narrowed. 'Wait, a Child of Heaven?'

A very curious thought ca to Alex in that mont as he rembered his ti with Rosemist and how she seemingly got her answers from the Heaven.

'She could connect to the Heaven too, couldn't she?' he thought. 'That's how she got her answers. Does that an...'

Had he beco a Child of Heaven as well?

'Rosemist thought I was one before, but that was likely either because

I was connected to the Sun God or because I had his body. But now, I have actually connected to the Heaven, so I might have beco a Child of Heaven!

The only way to fully know that was to go and ask her, but as he was right then, he was more or less certain that had to be the truth. 'Would the Heaven tell if that's what I have beco?" Alex thought curiously. He wanted to try to connect with it again, but to his

surprise, it wasn't possible.

'Huh? What changed?"

It was only then that he examined himself and realized sothing had

indeed changed.

Unknowingly, he had ended up using up all the unique energy within

his dantian.
