There was a knock on the door, along with a voice that claid to be a staff mber of the auction hall. The door opened with a tap on the table from the prince, and a young man with an early Divine realm cultivation entered in a graceful fashion.
"Greetings, senior," the young man said with a bow. "I am here to take the spirit stones for the Jade Fang sword that was purchased by our esteed guest over here."
He pointed directly toward Alex, seemingly very aware of who it was that made the bid despite the changed voices. Alex didn't think they were keeping a tab on them, but rather it was because he had used his table to make the bid.
The man looked at Alex, paused for a mont, before continuing. "Once the paynt is settled, I shall bring the sword to you right away."
Alex nodded and quickly brought out the 1.5 million spirit stones he had prepared already. Before handing them over though, he looked toward the man.
"I have a small request, if you would be willing to hear it."
The man gave a strange expression. "I will, of course, hear the request," he said.
"I don't suppose there is a chance I could et the person who put this sword up for auction, can I?" Alex asked.
"You cannot, I'm afraid," the man said without the slightest
consideration. "We take the privacy of our sellers and buyers with the utmost seriousness. We could never do such a thing."
He left unsaid the 'even if' part of the statent, but it was obvious who that would have been pointed toward. The prince's presence could not change the rules of the auction house.
"I understand," Alex said. "In that case, would it be possible to send a ssage to the seller?"
The young man hesitated a little, unsure of what to say. "I cannot facilitate this communication on my own accord. I would have to ask my seniors if it is possible."
"Please do," the prince said. "If my young friend here wishes to send a ssage, then it must be sothing important. Let your seniors know of the situation right away."
The young man nodded and left with the paynt.
Alex turned to the prince and gave a small bow. "Thank you for your aid."
The prince shook his hand. "Please don't ntion it," he said. "I only did what I was supposed to. It's a small thing anyway. But, if you don't mind asking, why did you want to et the seller?"
"I wanted to learn where they got the sword from," Alex said.
The prince's expression told Alex that he didn't believe his words, but he didn't pry any further and returned his focus to the auction before him.
The auction carried on, and just as the prince had guessed, they moved on to the second half of the auction, where they auctioned off Divine grade items.
The previous woman was replaced by an older man with quite a bit of renown in the city. Once he appeared, people changed their stances, becoming more serious throughout.
The old man introduced the first of the Divine grade items, ingots of a rare Divine rank tal called Goldskin Lead, mined in the Formation Monarch's realm, where there was more than a few tal-elent Spirit veins.
Alex was a little interested in the tal. He was going to start practicing the inheritance that Godslayer left him with, so he needed
plenty of material. He had a decent amount of it gathered already, most of it from the islands that Ray had collected.
But still, more wouldn't hurt.
Alex bid a few tis on the ingots, but once the price went above 300 Divine spirit stones, which was equivalent to 3 million Immortal spirit stones, he gave up. There was no point in wasting so much money on a random pile of ingots.
The ingots went to so VIP, and the next item was brought out. They were selling a Divine grade poison, which Alex imdiately lost
interest in.
Just then, there was a knock on the door once again. The door opened, and the young man from before entered, followed by an older man who had welcod them to the auction hall.
This was the owner of the place.
The man imdiately bowed toward the prince.
"How do you like the auction so far, Your Highness?" the man asked.
"It's great, senior," the prince answered. "Much better than last ti, dare I say. You've managed to find quite the items to auction off this ti around."
The old man gave a wide grin of satisfaction. "Please look forward to the ones later on. We still have so surprises left for everyone!"
The prince raised his eyebrows and smiled. "I can't wait."
The old man then silently nodded toward the other two Divinities before turning toward Alex. He brought out a small storage bag and handed it over to Alex.
"This is the sword you bought, esteed guest. Please look it over," he
said.
Alex took the sword and instantly brought it out. Even in the dim light of the room, the sword glead with an ethereal green light, with a smooth surface that caught the reflection of his smile.
He placed it back.
"It's incredible. Thank you," Alex said, bowing toward the old man.
"It is our pleasure," the old man said.
Alex gave a warm smile. "And what of my request, senior?"
The old man stood up slightly straighter. "You wish to communicate
with the seller, I hear."
Alex nodded. "I understand that you have the need to keep the seller's
privacy, but surely it won't be impossible to pass along a simple
ssage."
The old man thought for a mont and slowly nodded. "We do connect sellers and buyers on occasion, but it is always left to the seller's discretion."
Alex grew excited. "Then you'll take along my ssage?" he asked.
"Yes," the old man said. "But I won't be taking along any physical ssages. For safety reasons, we can only pass along verbal ssages. Would that be an issue?"
