Alex considered what ssage it was he wanted to send verbally. Before even sending the ssage, he needed to figure out if he
should keep his anonymity or not.
Using his Daoist title 'Dawnblade' would most certainly not work here. It would have to be either Alex or Yu Ming. But he didn't want anyone else to know his real na, and Yu Ming wasn't sothing he used enough for the other person to recognize him.
So, he had to reveal who he was without revealing who he was.
After a brief mont spent thinking of what the ssage would have to be, Alex turned back to the old man.
"Please tell the seller that the one who ruined Eternal Cultivation wishes to et with them. If they accept my offer, I will be waiting for them outside of the auction house."
Several curious glances were shared across the room as no one ca close to understanding what Alex was talking about at all.
The owner of the auction house nodded slowly. "Is that all you wish to relay?" he asked.
Alex nodded. "That is all."
The old man bowed and walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him. The prince turned to Alex afterward, a strange gleam in his eyes.
"What was that about?" he asked.
"A test," Alex said. "I'll have to see if the seller passes."
The prince was even more curious, but he didn't push it. It was clear enough to him that Alex didn't wish to speak more on this matter.
The auction continued smoothly, with more items being auctioned off. One of the highest bids yet, a full 840 Divine spirit stones, had
been made for an armor designed for the body of a four-legged beast. Thankfully, Alex had no need for such artifacts for his beasts. Both Scarlet and Pearl had been given plenty of defensive artifacts to use by their families, and Whisker had little need for them with his bloodline and physique.
Not to ntion their body cultivation was already far beyond what would require the use of a defensive artifact anyway.
Offensive ones though, he would have to look out for.
"There are quite a few artifacts for beasts here, huh?" Alex spoke up. "I didn't expect a Human realm to have so many, but I suppose it makes sense given the number of beasts that live in this realm."
"You should see the auction houses of the Holy Beast Continent. You get more items for beasts than humans over there sotis," the prince said.
The auction continued, and the bids began crossing 1000 Divine spirit stones. After the tournant and everything else received from the beast realms, he had more than enough funds to purchase many of the items being auctioned at this point.
And yet, it would still feel as if he was bleeding in order to purchase them all. The way the people in the secret rooms all around him were bidding on them, Alex could only wonder how rich they were.
"Sacred Lotus Dominion appears to have quite the spenders," Alex said. "What do all of these people do to have so much?"
"Most of these people aren't individuals. They are buying on behalf of their organizations, their sects, and their families. You will find very few people that are actually paying out of their own pockets," the man explained. "This also happens to be the sole connection between the Human realms and the Beast realms, and as such many rich beasts pass through this world as well. So might happen to be here right now."
Alex considered the prince's explanation and nodded a little. He
supposed that was true.
"This city has also gone through trendous growth in recent tis, so you will get many big figures visiting it constantly," the balding Reverend said. "If you had co here just a thousand years ago, it would've been no better than any of the other cities in the area." Alex gave a curious look. "Did so sects co and settle here?" he asked. Those were usually the reasons why cities got bigger. A sect would settle itself on the city's periphery, and the sheer number of disciples and elders of the sect would push a city's economy beyond what it previously was.
"Many have, but they were the result of the growth, not the catalyst," the Reverend said.
"Oh? Then what was the catalyst?" Alex asked.
"A prophecy," the Reverend said. "Or rather, the fulfillnt of it."
Alex froze, his eyes widening as he believed he knew what the man was talking about. His heart understood before the man continued. "This was the city that the Savior saved nearly 2 thousand years ago."
Alex's mouth opened and closed a few tis as his mind raced through his thoughts so quickly that his body couldn't keep up.
"I'm sorry," Alex said. "This was the city that the Savior saved from the
bird beast?"
"It indeed is," the Reverend said. "That was what changed the
trajectory of this city, making it so big. And now, people from all around co to visit it just to learn more about that ti from the people who used to live here. And obviously, that is what led to this auction being so grand as well."
Alex tuned out the rest of what the Reverend said as he began thinking about the prophecy and the Savior.
He wanted to learn more about this prophecy and the man who had fulfilled it. Did the man have any connection to the True Gods? What
made him special enough to be the Savior?
Alex's heart raced as he found himself growing more and more curious about who the Savior really was. Was it him, or was it the man called Longstrike?
'I never thought I would be this curious about a prophecy! Unfortunately, he would have to wait until after the auction to get any more information from a direct source. For now, he could only focus on the auction itself.
