"I'll do my best," Ye Tian said to Zhang Xinlan. "If I can learn to fly, we'll save a lot of ti getting to the Imperial City. We might even have so ti to look around. Otherwise, once we're in the Imperial City Academy, it'll be hard to get out."
Ye Tian then sat on a large rock and began his attempt at comprehension. Zhang Xinlan had told him that to borrow the Power of Heaven and Earth, one had to release their own Spiritual Power to resonate with the Spiritual Qi between heaven and earth. Only then could they borrow it.
But the Spiritual Power in his body was no longer simple Spiritual Power. It was Dragon Spiritual Power infused with Immortal Qi. Achieving resonance would be a little difficult, but if he succeeded, the effects of borrowing this power would be trendous.
After clearing his mind of stray thoughts, Ye Tian slowly released the Immortal Power from his body. The release was very slow; he needed to search for the particles of Immortal Qi that existed between heaven and earth. Such particles did exist in this world—though not in large numbers, there were enough for him to borrow.
If too many people tried to borrow it, the effect would be negligible. In that case, Spiritual Power might be better. However, the particles of Immortal Qi were incredibly rare, making them difficult to find quickly. It was a matter of practice makes perfect; only after achieving resonance could one locate them instantly. Without the right thod, it was impossible.
At first, Ye Tian was confident. But after several hours passed without him getting the hang of it, he felt sothing was wrong. Zhang Xinlan had made it sound easy, yet he was finding it very difficult to sense the Immortal Qi between heaven and earth.
After a little while longer, Ye Tian stopped and opened his eyes. "Xinlan," he asked, "why can't I borrow the Power of Heaven and Earth? Is there sothing wrong with your thod?"
At that mont, Zhang Xinlan was also resting with her eyes closed. She still hadn't consolidated her Power Realm after her recent breakthrough, and she planned to do so while Ye Tian was in his Cultivation. However, her Divine Sense was extended, ready to react imdiately in case of danger.
"You're probably not using the right thod," Zhang Xinlan said, her tone serious. "Or perhaps your Spiritual Power is different from ours. You absorbed a lot of Immortal Qi in that secret chamber. If you want to borrow the Power of Heaven and Earth, it's very likely you can only borrow the power of Immortal Qi. And as for this so-called Immortal Qi, that was the first ti we'd ever heard of it.
We don't even know if there's any Immortal Qi here, so don't be too anxious. If there isn't, try to communicate with the Spiritual Qi instead. That's your only way to make a breakthrough."
Ye Tian felt that what Zhang Xinlan said was similar to what he had been thinking. He nodded and said, "I'll try again then. I hope I can at least get my foot in the door this ti!"
This ti, Ye Tian once again slowly released his Immortal Power, but he fully imrsed his Divine Sense in the world around him. He had to find an Energy that was identical to his own Immortal Power. Only by borrowing this Energy could he fly through the air.
An unknown amount of ti passed before a look of joy suddenly appeared on Ye Tian's face. He had discovered that Immortal Qi did exist between heaven and earth, just not in large quantities. The Elent Particles of Immortal Qi were also very sparse, making them sowhat difficult to gather.
However, if he could achieve resonance, these particles of Immortal Qi could be gathered easily. To achieve resonance, he first had to thoroughly understand what this so-called Immortal Qi truly was.
Although he had obtained and absorbed Immortal Qi, he didn't understand it, which was a source of great frustration for him. All he knew was that it was an incredibly terrifying form of Energy—the most powerful gaseous Energy in this world.
The sky gradually darkened, but Ye Tian remained in a trancelike state. He was releasing his Immortal Power slowly, but over such a long period, he had consud a considerable amount. However, he discovered that he seed to be able to communicate with these particles of Immortal Qi.
The progress was slow, but it was progress nonetheless. He had experienced this before when communicating with the particles of the Water Elent and Fire Elent. As long as he could communicate, achieving resonance was not difficult; it was only a matter of ti.
Bright moonlight spilled onto the ground, making the night-ti hillside seem exceptionally peaceful. A mountain breeze would occasionally blow past, rustling the hair of Ye Tian and Zhang Xinlan, but the two of them seed completely unaffected by the chill.
A whole night passed without them noticing. Ye Tian remained as still as an old monk in deep ditation, sitting motionless on the rock. Expressions of joy and disappointnt occasionally flickered across his face.
Zhang Xinlan had already completed several Circulations, fully consolidating her Power Realm. Now, she was just watching Ye Tian from a distance, curious to see how long it would take him to borrow the Power of Heaven and Earth.
At the Holy Land, the fastest person had apparently succeeded in just two hours, while she herself had taken a full day. 'But Ye Tian's talent is terrifyingly high—sothing I know from personal experience—so for him to take this long feels a little off.'
'Perhaps it's just as I thought. Ye Tian is trying to borrow Immortal Power, not ordinary Spiritual Power. If he really succeeds, his speed will definitely be much faster than an ordinary person's. And if he can use it to perform Martial Skills, their power will be even greater.'

It felt easy once he figured it out, but it had been incredibly difficult before he'd gotten the hang of it. What Ye Tian needed to do now was communicate with the particles, achieve resonance, and borrow the Power of Heaven and Earth to fly between heaven and earth.
Day unknowingly turned to night, and then back to day again. It wasn't until noon that Ye Tian finally opened his eyes. He glanced at Zhang Xinlan not far away and said, "I've finally achieved resonance. I just don't know if I can borrow the power."
"Then why don't you give it a try? Don't borrow too much force at the beginning. Borrowing it consus your own internal Energy as well!" Zhang Xinlan was quite pleased to hear that Ye Tian had succeeded.
But Ye Tian gave a bitter smile. "I'm almost out of Immortal Power. I have to recover before I can try, so it's still going to take so ti."
After speaking, he took a tri-colored Lotus Seed from his Storage Ring and swallowed it without hesitation. The mont the Lotus Seed entered his stomach, Ye Tian felt a powerful surge of Energy appear and then run rampant through his ridians.
He hastily circulated the Immortal Power in his body to absorb it. After a good while, the chaotic energy finally subsided, and his depleted Immortal Power was mostly restored. This was just a tri-colored Lotus Seed. If it had been the seven-colored one, he might have exploded from the overwhelming Energy and died.
