A wave of fear washed over Ye Tian as he thought about the Energy contained within the Seven-Colored Lotus Seed. Without sufficient strength, he truly wouldn't have dared to absorb it. His current power was just barely enough to handle a three-colored Lotus Seed.
Now that his strength was restored, it was ti to try borrowing the Power of Heaven and Earth. Ye Tian slowly released the Immortal Power from his body, allowing it to resonate with the Immortal Qi in the air. The entire process took only a few short breaths—an unimaginable speed compared to how long it took him to connect with it before.
Ye Tian slowly channeled the borrowed Power of Heaven and Earth. He discovered his body beginning to feel very light, as if it were about to float. This was the first sign of flight.
A jolt of joy shot through him. Ye Tian increased the amount of Power he was borrowing, and the circulation of Immortal Power within his body sped up considerably.
In an instant, Ye Tian's body shot up from the rock and into the air. He moved with incredible speed, reaching a height of over ten ters. This gave him a fright; it would be easy to fall if he didn't control the force properly, and he was still rising.
Alard, Ye Tian imdiately stopped circulating his Immortal Power. His ascent halted, but the relief was short-lived. The mont he stopped rising, he began to fall, plumting toward the ground like a stone.
Ye Tian hastily circulated his Immortal Power again, stabilizing his body before he began to ascend once more. This whole ordeal left Ye Tian drenched in sweat, but he was also beginning to understand sothing.
Borrowing the Power of Heaven and Earth was inextricably linked to the Immortal Power within his body. If he stopped circulating his Immortal Power, the connection to the Power of Heaven and Earth would be severed. The faster he circulated his power, the greater the force he could borrow.
To fly, he had to control the speed of this circulation. Only by mastering it completely could he dare to accelerate the flow and achieve true flight.
Down on the ground, Zhang Xinlan found it amusing to watch Ye Tian bobbing up and down. She knew his current situation was much like her own when she had first started flying. It took a lot of trial and error to get the hang of it.
After Ye Tian slowed the circulation of his Immortal Power, his body hovered in the air but couldn't move forward. He wasn't worried about this, as Zhang Xinlan had told him that moving required controlling the borrowed Power of Heaven and Earth, which was supposedly easier than controlling his own Immortal Power.
After about half an hour of bobbing up and down to get a feel for the right amount of force, Ye Tian had more or less mastered it. It was ti to try moving.
With a single thought, the borrowed Immortal Qi molecules gathered together and pushed his body forward. On his very first try, he shot forward more than ten ters, wind WHOOSHING past his ears. He imdiately brought himself to a stop.
This was his first ti truly flying on his own. He had flown before, but always while being carried by soone else. The feeling was completely different.
Just then, Zhang Xinlan also flew into the air. "Ye Tian, take it slow. How about I guide you for a bit? That way you can get a better feel for the balance between the Energy in your body and the borrowed Energy of Heaven and Earth. Practice makes perfect. Once you're used to it, your speed will naturally increase!"
After speaking, Zhang Xinlan extended her hand to Ye Tian. He took it without hesitation. But in that fleeting mont he grasped her hand, Ye Tian could feel it tremble slightly. 'I wonder if she's nervous,' he thought.
But Zhang Xinlan quickly composed herself. "Focus on controlling the power. Let's go!"
With that, Zhang Xinlan shot forward, and Ye Tian naturally followed. She was only using a small amount of her power to guide him; most of the effort was coming from Ye Tian himself.
Flying this way would help him more quickly master the circulation speed of his Immortal Power and the right amount of the Power of Heaven and Earth to borrow, while also allowing him to acclimate to high-speed flight.
After flying for about half an hour, Zhang Xinlan gradually ca to a halt. She glanced at Ye Tian and said, "Ti to try it on your own, don't you think? I imagine you should be fine now!"
Ye Tian had been itching to try on his own the entire way, but he hadn't wanted to spoil her mont. Hearing her suggestion, he imdiately said, "Alright, I'll give it a shot! I hope I don't disappoint you!"
With that, he shot forward. His speed was considerably slower than when Zhang Xinlan had been guiding him, but this ti his flight was perfectly stable, without a single hitch.
"Not bad at all! I didn't expect you to make so much progress!" Zhang Xinlan said with a laugh.
"It's alright, I guess! I'm going to try picking up the pace now!" Ye Tian said, then imdiately quickened the circulation of Immortal Power in his body.
Ye Tian's speed instantly increased, far surpassing what he could achieve even at a full sprint on the ground. Moreover, he remained perfectly stable, flying as if he had been doing it for a very long ti.
Zhang Xinlan was astonished as she watched him from nearby. Ye Tian had been slow to grasp the concept of borrowing the Power of Heaven and Earth—slower than most by half a day, or even a full day—but he was mastering the actual act of flying faster than anyone she had ever seen.
It had taken her nearly half a day to reach the level of proficiency he was displaying now, whereas he had done it in little more than two hours from start to finish.
"Xinlan, this flying thing isn't actually that hard," Ye Tian said. "But there's one thing I don't get. Why do you have to reach the Five Veins Realm to fly? Can't soone with Four Veins do it?"
"Only those who have reached the Five Vein Realm can withstand the pressure from the Power of Heaven and Earth," Zhang Xinlan explained. "This pressure is invisible, so you can't feel it, but if you only had the Power Realm of Four Veins, you'd likely be crushed to dust. I'm not entirely sure why that is. Perhaps it's just so kind of mysterious law of the world!"
Ye Tian felt he understood the basics now. He glanced at Zhang Xinlan and said, "So, should we pick up the pace again? Even though my speed and skill are no match for yours, I really want to experience what it's like to fly as fast as lightning."
The Immortal Power in his body began to circulate rapidly, and Ye Tian's speed increased once more. The muscles on his face started to twitch from the wind resistance, so he hastily deployed an Energy Barrier around himself. It was a technique he seed to have learned instinctively, which felt rather miraculous.
Ye Tian's speed increased so dramatically that Zhang Xinlan was forced to accelerate the circulation of her own Spiritual Power to keep up. The further they flew, the more shocked she beca. To match Ye Tian's current speed, she already had to use eighty percent of her own Spiritual Power.
"Not bad, Xinlan, you caught up right away," Ye Tian said. "But I still haven't gone all out. I'm suddenly in the mood to race you. I lost the last few tis we competed, but this ti... I want to see if I have a chance to win. Dare to take that bet?"
"As if I'd be afraid of you," Zhang Xinlan retorted. "But you only just learned this Flying Technique. You shouldn't push yourself so hard. It's not too late to race after you've fully mastered it!"
"It's fine, what's the harm in one little race? I'm feeling pretty confident right now! Let's go! Ti to show you what real speed looks like!" Ye Tian declared with a straight face…
