"Hall Master Gu, the mist in this area is too thick. We can’t see the path ahead at all, and it’s affecting our perception. If we get too far apart, we could easily get separated."
"We can’t spread out too much."
"After entering the curtain of light, only the three of us appeared together. Everyone else vanished. Our perception is also heavily restricted. I suspect this area is treacherous."
"If we put too much distance between us, we risk getting separated from each other as well."
An Inner Refining Elder from the Cyan Yuan Sect said to Gu An, who was not far away.
In the gray mist, it was impossible to see anyone more than three ters away.
From the outside, the curtain of light had looked gloomy. In truth, that was just a reflection of the scene within this area. Furthermore, the portal within the light curtain led to completely different locations.
A whole group of people had entered one after another, but only the three of them ended up together. The rest had all disappeared.
"Alright. Yuan Liang, stay closer to us. Your cultivation is at the External Iron Bone Refining level, so your perception is weaker. If you wander too far, you could easily get lost in the mist."
Gu An didn’t object. Their group consisted of a Hall Master, an Elder, and a Direct Disciple. The two Inner Masters could naturally perceive more than the disciple, but only by a little.
Although they hadn’t encountered any danger yet, the gray mist still left them with a sense of unease.
Before entering Taiyin Heaven, Gu An had gathered more information from others.
For instance, the great vortex before was a trial, and the black curtain of light was a filter. Now, this gray mist blotted out the sky, filling the entire area and making it impossible to get one’s bearings.
This was likely another trial for those who had entered Taiyin Heaven.
Gu An wasn’t sure what these trials entailed, but he knew the only way to find out what was happening was to press forward.
Besides, they couldn’t just enter Taiyin Heaven and leave empty-handed. Having not yet found any opportunities, how could they give up so easily?
Who knew if they would even be able to re-enter if they gave up now? Thus, Gu An and the others continued moving forward, their pace unwavering.
"Yes, Hall Master."
The Direct Disciple nad Yuan Liang heard this and quickly moved closer to the other two.
Moving forward was even more difficult for him in the pervasive mist. His perception was more limited, forcing him to rely more on his eyes. He could only perceive as far as he could see.
So, upon hearing Gu An’s words, he naturally hurried back. For him, this was a much safer course of action.
The two Inner Masters far surpassed him in both danger perception and combat power, so they offered much greater protection.
Although he had entered Taiyin Heaven to find the Cultivation Resources needed to break through to the Inner Master realm, he had no intention of throwing his life away.
"I don’t know where this mist ends, but for now, there’s no danger. We’ll keep moving forward."
"Stay vigilant on the way. The mont you notice anything wrong, call it out imdiately."
Gu An continued to instruct.
The three of them weren’t spreading out to search; instead, they walked in a near single-file line to prevent anyone from getting lost. In such an unfamiliar place, there was strength in numbers, offering a degree of safety. It also prevented them from straying too far from each other, which might attract unwanted attention.
If there were so danger hidden in the pervasive mist, staying in a line would actually help them avoid it.
This was the reasoning behind Gu An’s arrangent. Otherwise, the farther apart they were and the wider the area they covered, the more likely they were to run into trouble.
If there were no mist here, they would naturally need to scout the area carefully. But with the mist making it difficult to even determine their direction, there was no point in scouting their location. Even if they did, it would ultimately be useless. Leaving marks would be a problem, let alone rembering the way.
The farther they walked, the harder it beca to discern any direction. They might not even be able to confirm their bearings, as if they were in a maze, and they had to guard against getting lost within it.
"ROAR!"
As Gu An’s group of three walked through the mist, a ferocious roar echoed out.
It was a Fierce Beast in the mist. The sound made all three of them tense up. In a place where daylight couldn’t be seen, hearing such a creature ant great danger was near.
Especially since they couldn’t see the path ahead, fighting it could cause them to lose their direction again. These were all risks they had to face.
"Careful. Don’t get too far apart, or you’ll easily get lost."
Gu An gave a word of warning as a ferocious aura erupted from his body. This was the will of the Flood Dragon Demon. When cultivating the Flood Dragon Demon Martial Seal, one not only had to subdue the Flood Dragon Demon’s will but would also carry its True Intent.
And this powerful, ferocious aura was more than enough to make countless Fierce Beasts fear him and not dare to approach.
"Right."
Hearing this, the other two moved closer again.
Although the roar still sounded distant, they knew all too well that Fierce Beasts had incredibly keen senses of sll.
Especially in this gray mist, if they couldn’t see, they would have other ways to find their prey.
In this regard, Fierce Beasts naturally had the upper hand.
Furthermore, judging from the roar, it was very likely an Exotic Beast.
After all, back in the Thousand Feather Secret Realm, there had been many powerful Exotic Beasts.
This Taiyin Heaven, however, hadn’t been opened for ages. Any Exotic Beasts that existed within could be incredibly strong.
Nourished by such rich Spiritual Qi, the Exotic Beasts could have grown even more powerful. It was even possible they had surpassed the Inner Master level and reached a rank above that of a Bone Marrow Cleansing Grandmaster.
Although there were conditions for entering through Taiyin Heaven’s curtain of light, it wasn’t certain that one would be expelled for surpassing the Inner Master realm while inside.
Gu An wasn’t sure about this, so he proceeded with extre caution, trying to avoid being discovered. In an environnt with such poor visibility, Gu An had no desire to fight an unknown Exotic Beast—it was simply too dangerous.
Right now, his priority was to regroup with the other mbers of the Cyan Yuan Sect, which included other Elders, Direct Disciples, and Stewards. These people were all core, vital mbers of the Cyan Yuan Sect.
If all of them were lost in Taiyin Heaven, it would be disastrous news.
After gaining many opportunities from the Silver State Thousand Feather Secret Realm, the Sect Leader Liu Xuan had even broken through to the Bone Marrow Cleansing Grandmaster Realm. The entire Cyan Yuan Sect was on an upward trajectory, showing imnse potential.
As long as Liu Xuan was alive, the Cyan Yuan Sect shouldn’t have to face any imdiate danger. But if all of them perished here in Taiyin Heaven, the losses would far outweigh any potential gains.
Even with a Bone Marrow Cleansing Grandmaster presiding over the Sect, it still needed Inner Masters and Direct Disciples at the External Iron Bone Refining level to carry on the legacy. They were the pillars of the Sect, crucial to its existence and key to its future developnt.
If too many of them died, it would create a generational gap, one that would take a very long ti to recover from. This was a scenario Gu An did not want to see.
