Just like everyone else in this space, Liora had not expected the strange reaction of the Fire Elental core.
Before she could react, the core had already settled beside her soul, as if preparing to take a nap.
Seeing sothing foreign enter her body so suddenly and actually reach her most vulnerable part, her soul, Liora was far from pleased.
She knew that this object was the remains of an Archdevil.
From her mories, she understood just how powerful such beings were.
If she were not careful and sothing went wrong, it was very likely that the Archdevil would use her body as a dium to resurrect.
In fact, this was most likely what was happening at the mont.
Imdiately, Liora urged both her demonic energy and her consciousness, planning to expel this foreign item before it was too late.
Unfortunately, soone else would not allow her to do so.
Noticing that the core had integrated with Liora and her goal had been snatched out of her own two hands, the Slave Lord grew furious.
She didn’t pause to think about what happened, nor did she give any ti for Liora to explain herself.
With Liora "stealing" her item, their contract had been voided.
Sensing this, she showed no hesitation and attacked.
Although Liora’s attention was preoccupied with the core in her body, she hadn’t stopped paying attention to reality.
Thus, the mont the Slave Lord took action, she instantly noticed it.
A shiver ran down her spine as her intuition warned her of danger.
The next mont, a faint clanging noise echoed in her ears.
Liora’s body moved on its own.
Her right hand waved to the side and shooed Alpha away, while her feet pressed against the ground and launched her backwards.
The mont she dodged, several tal chains grew on the spot where she had just stood.
They struck at her earlier position, bringing destruction along their path.
"Huh?", two exclamations ca at the sa mont.
One stemd from the Slave Lord, and the other ca from Liora.
The forr was surprised because Liora had managed to dodge her attack. On the other hand, Liora was surprised by the thod employed by the Slave Lord.
All this ti, the black chains she had conjured ca from places near her body. Specifically, they had always grown from behind her back.
Yet now, she displayed the ability to create chains from a distance.
"Has she been hiding her abilities all this ti? Sure enough, you can never underestimate a person.", Liora thought as her eyes narrowed.
Since things had reached this point, she knew that there was no way she could explain what happened to the Slave Lord.
In fact, explaining might even harm her instead.
After all, if the Slave Lord were to learn that her current situation was quite dangerous and there was a chance that an Archdevil might use her body to resurrect, she would absolutely wish to take advantage of that opportunity and kill her.
Many thoughts raced through Liora’s mind. But in reality, her movents didn’t pause at all.
The mont she landed on the ground, the space above her head cracked.
Boundless gray substances fell down from the opening and gathered into the shape of a large sphere.
As it revolved and swallowed the matter around it, the sphere seed to have turned into a black hole.
Eclipse—this was the ability Liora chose to activate.
Clearly, having assigned the Slave Lord as her enemy, she didn’t hold back at all.
She planned to deal with the opponent as soon as possible, before the core near her soul could cause her any trouble.
"This battle should end as soon as possible.", Liora decided.
With that in mind, the sphere above her head fell towards the Slave Lord. Like a mountain falling from the sky, it was about to slam onto her.
Her decisive attitude caught the Slave Lord off guard.
She had not expected that Liora would evade her earlier attack, much less that she would take the initiative to strike back.
Therefore, she didn’t have the ti to dodge.
The revolving sphere of Nothingness exuded a power that suppressed her, locking her in place and making it impossible to move.
A trace of ruthlessness flashed in her eyes. After she exchanged a glance with the slaves around her, she conjured several black chains once again.
Whistling through the air, they shot towards the sphere, obviously wanting to stop its downwards montum and give her the ti to evade.
To this, Liora rely shook her head.
Eclipse was the ultimate ability of World Devourers. It was simply impossible for it to be stopped so easily.
But the next mont, her eyes flashed with surprise before they narrowed.
From the corner of her vision, she noticed that the five slaves whom the Slave Lord had been protecting also took action.
Various lights flew out of their bodies before they shot forward.
Gold, green, red, blue, white...
The five colors mixed together as they fired towards the sphere of Nothingness.
No! Liora quickly realized that their target was not Eclipse.
Instead, as they reached the black chains, they poured into them and quickly rged.
The chains’ black color grew deeper, as they seed to have received a boost, growing significantly more sturdy and overall more powerful.
The next mont, the chains arrived near the sphere of Nothingness.
To Liora’s surprise, they didn’t imdiately shatter as she expected.
Although they trembled and cracked, they were able to bind around the sphere and slow down its forward montum.
This didn’t last for long. Only for a brief mont.
But such a window of opportunity was more than enough for the Slave Lord to take advantage of.
With her mind controlling the black chains to restrain Eclipse, she took a step to the side and disappeared.
The next mont, the black chains shattered.
The sphere of Nothingness was freed from its shackles and continued on its earlier trajectory.
With a loud crash, it slamd onto the ground. It didn’t break or leave a crater, but instead drilled into the earth, devouring all the matter along its way.
In the blink of an eye, it had reached the very edge of the demi-plane, hitting its wall and bouncing right off it.
However, Liora had no ti to admire her achievents.
Her eyes shifted to the Slave Lord, who, now surrounded by her five subordinates, also looked back at her.
