The edge of Michael's lips twitched as he stared at the notification panel in front of him.
He turned to check his status, but the panel didn't even bother adding the increase or showing any sign of such an increase.
It was evident.
The increase was way too low.
"I know it's a rankless ditation technique, but isn't this increase too low?"
Michael felt conflicted.
He was happy that cultivation had indeed proven useful in increasing stats, but the increase was so small it almost made him shed a tear in pain.
Just like spell models had ranks signifying their power and uniqueness, ditation techniques had ranks too. Among all ranks, one of the special ones was rankless, which either ant it wasn't qualified to have a rank or that it could be used at all ranks.
It was clear which of the two the ditation technique from the association belonged to.
"I knew the association was a bunch of greedy people."
He should have guessed it from the start. Since the rank wasn't ntioned in the ditation technique's content, Michael had figured it was a rankless technique. What he hadn't expected was for it to be the worst kind.
He had thought the only thing he needed to buy when it ca to magic was spell models.
Now, it seed like buying a high-rank ditation technique had to be added to the agenda.
"I can forget about getting it from the Supers Association due to my mbership level—at least until I advance to Rank 2. But with my mana pool continuing to grow, even after advancing to Rank 2, I don't think even a Master Rank (Rank 4 in the Aurora Cultivation System) technique will be able to increase my mana significantly in a stable yet slightly fast way."
As for getting a King Rank ditation technique, Michael didn't even consider it.
He knew that after advancing to Rank 2, it would take a long ti to reach the next rank, so at that point, cultivation would be quite useful for him. Only a Rank 5 ditation technique would provide the rapid pace he envisioned.
However, knowing that ditating was at least working put Michael in a good mood.
Even if the increase wasn't much, the calming pleasure that ca with ditation was great.
Still, this experience made him value his attribute points and the stat increases that ca from leveling up as a Human Necromancer even more.
Knowing it wasn't appropriate to cultivate any longer, Michael stopped.
There were other things he needed to do.
One was eting up with Brian to see if there was any information he could gather, and the other was handling matters in the Land of Origin.
However, due to getting carried away with cultivation, going to the Association branch had to be put aside temporarily.
The sa went for discussing moving out with Aunt Mia.
What Michael hadn't expected, however, was that when he returned to his room, Aunt Mia would coincidentally knock on his door, looking to have a conversation with him.
The conversation was simple and short. Perhaps it was because Aunt Mia sensed that Michael seed in a rush to do sothing.
She had co to discuss possible places they could move to and wanted to know if Michael had any specific requirents. Stay updated via My Virtual Library Empire
Michael was more than happy to give his input.
Not only did he trust Aunt Mia, but since he would still be the one choosing from the available options, it was better to leave the initial selection to soone like her.
His requirents were quite simple—big city, big house, and so on.
After saying what he had to say and sending Aunt Mia off with a few words, Michael excitedly closed the door to his room.
He then went to sit on his chair and summoned the female undead he had previously summoned during his last visit to the Land of Origin.
Giving the sa command as before, he simultaneously used his senses to check on the other two undead in the house. Not bothering to check what they were doing or thinking about freshening up first, Michael connected his consciousness to his body in the Land of Origin.
A mont later, a pair of green eyes opened.
The imrsion was seamless.
Then, a knock sounded at the door of his room.
"Co in," Michael said as he dismissed the undead in his room to the Netherworld.
He had already used his senses to check what was beyond the door.
Though he couldn't physically see what was on the other side, he could sense the vitality and mana of the person standing there.
They were ordinary.
Soon, the door opened, and a young lady in maid's clothing entered the room.
"Good morning, my lord."
"Good morning."
Though his face remained relatively expressionless, Michael ntally sighed in relief.
Had he been even a few seconds later, he might have missed the maid's call.
It wouldn't have been a major issue, as he would have arrived only monts later, but he didn't want to draw any unnecessary attention to himself.
It was still quite dark in the Land of Origin, so Michael was fairly certain this was the first knock on his door for the morning.
Or at least, he hoped so.
Sighing inwardly at the limitation of not being able to move in both Aurora and the Land of Origin simultaneously, he focused on what the maid was saying.
"Sorry for disturbing your rest, my lord, but the Mayor asked to co and inquire if you'd like to take your bath soon so my colleagues and I can assist you."
As the maid finished her sentence, Michael thought he might have seen wrong when he noticed a faint blush on her face.
However, he was more focused on sothing else.
"Help with my bath? How?"
"By preparing the water for you, my lord," the maid replied. "Boiling it if you prefer it hot, or adding ice if you prefer it cold, or…"
