The blue undead fla covering the undead knight erupted in a violent, deathly fury, creating a force of repulsion against the scorching fire all around.

Sophia’s steps grew faster, and faster, and faster; she erupted her all-encompassing darkness into the crimson twin. Making them vibrate and emit far more powerful waves that began to distort the very air around her.

Her speed beca so fast that her figure turned into a reddish blur; her voice ca out in a cold whisper: "Saint Art, Crimson Sword Cascade."

Her bloodlust, which she did not use from the very beginning, now manifested in its gargantuan power. The bloodlust shaped and honed over the course of 100,000 years.

Technically, Sophia was older than anything that had ever lived on this continent. Her battle prowess was absolute and unmatched. Now being empowered by her disgustingly potent bloodlust, the two swords showed their true might.

Converting all that killing intent into pure destructive power. Sophia moved like the bloody ballerina she was once titled to be. A movent combining both of her swords, circling and forming the illusion of a red disk, barged straight onto the armorless death knight.

The skeleton knight showed a ghostly smile, feeling an ungodly amount of bloodlust that sent chills down his very bones. Issuing his attack, he mumbled, "Ghost Sword, 4th form, spirit slash."

An arc of blue fire shot out from his sword slash, eting the spinning torpedo like Valkyrie, to the horror of Eryndor. Sophia’s blades cut through that fla as if it were nothing. With the crimson twin swords in her hands, with the built-up montum, she slamd the attack onto the fleshly bone sword of her enemy.

The Dread Warden felt the will-infused weapon scream out in pain; a horrible sound of agony ca out from the writhing weapon. Eryndor was shot back hundreds of ters, a crack forming on the knuckles of both his hands, from the impact that traveled down to his skeletal body from his giant sword.

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooom!

He now began to feel the absence of his armor, which would have absorbed much of the damage; he would have been pushed back at best 5-10 steps, and not shot flying like this. But Eryndor’s hollow sunken eyes showed a flicker of shock as he felt the presence of the valkyrie right on top of him again.

Eryndor was still flying backwards, from the previous attack, and still in the midst of it, she appeared above him, and attacked with her twin swords, in a gesture of stabbing, the dread warden with a defiant roar, slashed out with his sword in mid flight, but alas! he again found himself lost in a contest of strength.

Baaaaaaaaaaaang

With a mighty force, the knight was slamd into the ground, forming a large crater. More cracks spread through his skeletal body, but the healing of his bones could not keep up long enough with the pace of destruction raining down upon him by the madly assaulting valkyrie.

And the all-encompassing darkness which Sophia wielded continued to devour and decompose his bones, and her killing intent was attacking the ethereal core of the knight, not leaving a single window of opportunity for him to retaliate. She was like a force of nature; her combat prowess was beyond anything the knight had ever seen.

Eryndor kicked Sophia in the gut and hurriedly put so distance between them. He transford into the best form he could muster, his blue flas turning ashen; a scorching spirit power radiated out of him, targeting the very soul sanctum of the valkyrie.

With no more words needed, countless massive slashes of attacks, black lines of ashen flas, landed on Sophia, but she also responded similarly, ready for the incoming attack. Manifesting hundreds of slashes every second, red arcs of bloodlust that shot out, targeting the ghost knight.

So of the cuts from both sides intersected each other, but most of the attacks from both parties landed on their opponent. Cuts appeared on both of their figures, but without a care, both entities marched forward. The skeletal bones of the undead healed because of the Ashen flas. But the deep corrosion of Sophia’s bloodlust remained on him.

For Sophia, the cuts and burns she received physically healed in seconds, but a deep pain was assaulting her soul. The black marks upon her soul sanctum did not recede.

She put both of the red swords together, and they rged into one, becoming much longer and sharper, transforming from the crimson twin swords to the dark crimson sword. The red tal turned slightly darker and more sinister.

Sophia slashed down, "Saint Art, Maw of Darkness."

From her downward slash, her all-encompassing darkness shot out. Then it grew larger and larger until it resembled a massive wave at a height of almost 50 ters. Like the maws of a titanic serpent, the Dread Warden attacked many tis but was unable to make a clean cut and sever the incoming wave, and he drowned in a sea of darkness.

And then that darkness was unlike anything; it was not the darkness of death, but sothing more unnatural. Sothing that existed in between, sothing abyssal.

In that Veil of darkness, he could not feel anything, see, or sense either. Only his thoughts remained as if he had been teleported to a different plane of existence, only remaining in a spectral form.

For so reason, He rembered the words he once heard, from his very king: ’If you gaze at the abyss long enough, the abyss will gaze back.’

A chilling malevolent pair of large eyes opened above him, filled with hatred and evil desire of slaughter and destruction of unimaginable scale. His very soul trembled from the gaze of those eyes until the death knight scread and panicked, out of pure instinct.

Eryndor felt his spirit being suddenly pulled back by sothing, and his soul returned to his body, allowing him to see and sense everything again. Those sa chilling eyes that he saw in the abyss he was dragged into, they were looking straight at him, the monstrous eyes of the valkyrie.

It seems he was pulled into so illusion, yet the fear he felt was real. A monster resided inside that transcendent beauty, or maybe the divine valkyrie was the very monster in the guise of a human. A monster beyond comprehension. He noticed that countless more cracks had spread through his skeleton, most of which were irreparable.

Of course, Sophia was not unscathed either. Her complexion was ashen; despite having no injury on the outside, she had been constantly taking damage to her soul and spirit.

Darkness rose from beneath, swallowing her under the ground, as she disappeared.

Reappearing right beside the death knight, she started attacking him again, controlling and manifesting her darkness in various forms. At the sa ti, the ashen fla continued to hurt her more the longer she stayed close to it. But there was no choice; she could not let the knight have a mont of respite, for him to recover completely using the death energy.

The knight had already lost a lot of his energy reserves from the final attack of Gareth, alongside losing his protective armour. So, the best way to beat the dread warden is to continue hacking down at him, lessening the durability of his skeletal structure nonstop.

Of course, Eryndor also thought similarly; Sophia could not handle the spiritual attacks on her soul sanctum for too long. Even if she held on with just her sheer willpower, her survival instincts would shut down her bodily functions to protect herself, whether she liked it or not.

Clashes between the dark crimson sword and the flesh-infused bone sword of the Dread Warden continued nonstop, like a hurricane trying to pin down their enemy but unable to get through. A tallic taste lingered on her tongue, her skin was wet, filled with cuts, and her sweat, her heartbeat loud and clear.

Beating in a chaotic rhythm, even her body’s regeneration was slowing down, her energy reserves dwindling, her eyelids threatening to shut down from the fatigue accumulating in her soul. But her willpower was adamantine, as pristine as stainless steel against the rust of ti.

Blood was already coming out of her orifices, without her even realizing it.

Similar to her own, the ghost knight also felt the strength in his ethereal core slowly sip away, the durability in his old bones, which had endured for more than a century, cracking from within, the darkness and the malevolent killing intent of the valkyrie acting like poisonous snakes, slithering in his insides, making it worse for him.

Because of their similarly worsening situation, as if on a mutual consensus, they both stopped using their energy reserves; it was only that minimal amount of energy that was keeping their internals intact, preventing them from breaking down.

In the end, it ca down to a raw physical battle between two expert sword wielders. Sophia hamred down her sword on the grotesque blade of Eryndor, and so did her enemy rain down the strikes of the massive weapon.

Even without any input of energy, the physical blows of the two parties shook the surrounding area, spanning a radius of more than 100 ters; their existence itself radiated a silent pressure that no lower phase of existence could ever withstand.
