64: The Payback [2] 64: The Payback [2] Axel’s expression did not change as he said, “Since, you have failed to teach your brother manner’s, I shall teach them to you instead, then from the next ti, I hope you will know how to fucking behave.” The man beca more enraged at that response, “That is what I should say, wretch, you dare lay a hand on my brother because of so childish squabble.” Axel taunted with a smile, “And what are you going to do about it?” “Then I, Xavier, shall pay you back in a hundredfold, sothing that you will never be able to forget for the rest of your life,” declared the 4th circle runecaster.
No more words were exchanged between the two parties, and Axel brought out one of his twin-rune swords.
He peered into the spell matrix, and he could understand many of the things.
But without his runic eyes, he couldn’t counter runic magic directly.
Let alone from a mage who was on a higher level than he was.
Axel imbued a fraction of his gas-like mana into the blade as well as his killing intent.
While Xavier had already readied his attack, water gathered right in front of the mage, forming like sharp spears and shot towards Axel at an incomparable speed.
In that very instant, The pressure of a higher-stage mage was forced onto Axel, but he rely snorted and deflected the pressure.
His opponent’s expression changed slightly at that gesture, but he simply attributed it to the fact that the vice tower master must have given the boy so strong defensive artifacts.
With a simple dash of his foot, he shot forward, the physical prowess of Axel was off the chart because of his unique magic circuit.
The swords he was holding wasn’t any special among his collections, it was imbued with two concepts, ‘tal’ and ‘Lightning’.
With a simple swing of his sword, a red lightning shot right at the water dragon charging towards him.
It was finally at that feat that Xavier had a look of disbelief all over his face, ‘Impossible, how this boy’s mana is so potent, and that killing intent, why is it so damn dense and well-controlled.
Is he even a runecaster?
Or a damn warrior?’ But he did not let that surprise halt him; he imbued more and more mana into the runic matrix, and more spells continued to fire out, attacks made of Light, Plant, Ice, even sound, and poison.
So of them were mixed with more than one or two concepts.
But Axel cut through all of them like butter, through his condensed killing intent which amplified the ‘lightning’ concept imbued in the sword, on the other hand the ‘tal’ concept held the sword together, stopping it from falling apart.
Axel got tired of the charade, he was utterly disappointed in the power of a 4th circle runecaster.
anwhile, Xavier couldn’t believe his eyes.
The scene that he was seeing was practically and reasonably beyond impossible.
He would understand if the boy could resist 3rd circle mages, sohow.
But to fend off against even his most powerful attacks.
With such ease, a chill ran through his spine.
Just what kind of monster was he dealing with?
However, suddenly in a fraction of a second, his enemy appeared right in front of him.
he raised the blood red sword, cackling with red lightning high in the sky, the red thunder cackled loudly, as power surged into the sword.
Death, the pure sensation of death, lood over the 4th circle mage, as if the reaper was ready to harvest his soul.
With a mighty downward vertical slash, an earth shattering violent gale of lighting shot out as if determined to split the world itself in two.
All the defensive artifacts of the powerful mage activated on their own, almost hundreds of them activated one after another, but they did not manage to stop the attack.
The red lightning attack charred the mage’s body in its entirety, but it did not stop at that; most of the attack continued to go behind the mage, and there was a forest behind.
For miles and miles, it left a trail of pure and devastating destruction.
After a few monts, when the aftermath of the attack cleared, Axel looked at the mage, severely injured, maybe even close to death.
But alive nonetheless, then another familiar sound resided in the surroundings, “Enough.” Axel sighed, hearing that, and put the sword back in his ring, he retracted his killing intent and mana from the surroundings.
Everyone except for him seed to be frozen or maybe encased in so kind of illusion; no one else was hard.
Then Old Man Leroy appeared in front of him.
He gave him an admonishing look and announced, “Couldn’t you have handled things better?
Was it necessary to go so far?” Axel shrugged, “Oh, please, sparing his life is already being extrely generous.” The old man clicked his tongue, “If I didn’t reach here in ti, you damn punk would have already revealed everything about yourself to the world.” “You think I didn’t sense you were hear from the start of the fight?” mocked Axel.
Then with a tired sigh, the old man began to explain, what exactly happened in the school with Akon, while being as subtle as possible to not make Axel lose his mind in rage and obliterate the damn school to cinder’s.
Axel did want to do exactly that, but the old man revealed, the very mont he found out about it, he had personally visited the head of the school and threatened to kill him; the man imdiately kowtowed, then sent ssages to every single parent of the school.
Then pointed his finger towards Xavier and said, “But this brat’s little brother just had to go and take a jab, and et your brother, right here.” “And what makes you think it won’t happen again?” asked Axel as calmly as possible.
The old man stated, “I will make sure of it, but this all happened because you beca too busy, with your damn experints.
Do you think I am a nanny for your little brother or sothing?” But Axel declared on a serious note, “If this happens again, the next ti, I won’t be gentle, Librarian Leroy.” Axel picked up his brother and went back to his apartnt.
The next day, his little brother woke up groggily.
For a mont, he thought if what happened yesterday was actually a dream or sothing, but seeing his brother prepare breakfast so early, crushed his faint hopes.
Axel greeted little Akon with a smile.
Akon also smiled, but it seed a little forced.
Sitting at the table side by side, they both started eating Axel’s hand-made breakfast.
There was a silent awkwardness in the atmosphere.
Axel eventually asked, “Tell what happened.” His little brother lingered for a while, but he eventually gave in, he started speaking about the things that happened from the very beginning, Axel listened to all of it with a calm mind, at least outwardly.
But inside he was like a raging volcano, his kid brother eventually broke down in tears.
Axel hugged him, he reassured him that he had taken care of it, and no other problems would occur.
Akon will now be going to another school, but in the new school, everyone will know that Akon’s older brother is the disciple of the vice tower master.
Of course, he did not tell that part aloud.
He consoled him, “It’s fine, in the next school, even if you say where we are from, they won’t judge or ostracize you like the previous school or class.
I already beat that shitty brats older brother.” Akon’s tears stopped falling, eventually, the kid’s mood returned to normal by the end of the day.
Axel himself also returned to his rune engravings.
He had already given Akon the artifact he created, replacing his master’s given magic artifact.
He also revealed to Akon, that for 10 years there won’t be any problem, not to ntion Axel should be able to start working on the real solution upon reaching the peak of the third circle.
Maybe even invent the crystal subphase which he had the idea on.
With a sigh, his boring work started for the umpteenth ti, Now he needed to make exactly 2024 tri-rune artifacts to create the third polygon circle and beco a third circle mage.
However, sothing caught his attention.
In the corner of the room, there was a strange package; he was moderately sure it wasn’t his or sothing that should be here.
Upon taking a closer look, he realized that it seed to be sothing from his master.
He opened the box and saw a strange, robotic female-shaped construct.
Its face was covered in a plain steel mask, and all over its body were countless runic patterns.
But the surface of the construct was covered in one smooth marble-like layer.
But all in all, it looked very interesting.
He read the note attached to the box, and it seed to be a battle puppet made of runes and the body of a dead human female underneath.
A combined creation of chanical, runic sorcery, and biology.
There were also many alchemical potions in the box, which seed to be for increasing his ntal power.
