September 5th, Tuesday.
Two in the morning.
Chang’an West Station.
Carrying her luggage, Chen Rourou bustled out of the station.
She spotted Zhang Beixing in the crowd at a glance, waved excitedly at him, and trotted over.
"Uncle Zhang, Uncle Zhang, who are we going to fight next?" Looking at Zhang Beixing, Chen Rourou asked happily.
Fighting his way across the entire country—what an incredibly cool idea! She was already impatient to be a witness to this!
Hearing her question, Zhang Beixing chuckled lightly and placed his hand on Chen Rourou’s head. Stroking her hair as if petting a cat, he said, "Don’t rush, it’s not the ti yet."
"Not the ti? Then when will it be the right ti?" Chen Rourou asked, full of anticipation.
Zhang Beixing offered a knowing smile, the hand on her head stilling. "Of course, we have to wait until you’ve completed your ergency training!"
At this revelation, Chen Rourou was montarily taken aback, alarms going off in her head as her keen sixth sense told her sothing was off.
What’s going on? What does he an, ’wait until she finishes her ergency training’? She had just co to join in the fun and have a laugh—how did it suddenly involve her?
"Uncle Zhang, what’s... what’s going on?" Chen Rourou asked, looking at Zhang Beixing.
Zhang Beixing smiled faintly. "It’s exactly as you’re realizing. I’ve been thinking these past few days, I’m the one who led you into the world of martial arts, right?"
"Yes."
"Since I’m the one who guided you into this world and even taught you the Chen Family’s secret Northern Sect Eight Pieces of Brocade, wouldn’t that make at least half a master to you?"
"Indeed," Chen Rourou responded; these were undeniable facts.
It was true that Zhang Beixing had taught her using her family’s martial arts.
But ultimately, without Zhang Beixing, she wouldn’t have been able to start her training, let alone reach her current level of Integration with the Northern Sect Eight Pieces of Brocade.
Still, what did this have to do with their current conversation about fighting across the country?

A thought suddenly struck Chen Rourou like a spark. An audacious guess exploded in her mind.
She looked at Zhang Beixing in astonishnt.
She saw him smiling at her as he finished his sentence, "Since you are my disciple, when your master challenges the entire country, it’s only right for you to join , both emotionally and logically!"
"It’s also a good opportunity for to examine your cultivation over this period. I can also give you so extra training to enhance your strength and develop your combat experience. How does that sound?"
I don’t think that’s necessary at all!
Hearing Zhang Beixing’s words, Chen Rourou’s mouth twitched with a hint of regret.
She realized she had been a bit too hasty in coming here. She thought there was fun to be had, which is why she had rushed over by night bus. But upon arrival, she discovered that she was the biggest joke of the event! What ’enhancing strength’ and ’developing combat experience’? It’s clear he just wants to use as a laborer!
"So, Uncle Zhang, you didn’t call here just so I could join you in challenging others, did you?" Chen Rourou, now understanding his intentions, asked with a slightly stiff expression.
Zhang Beixing did not hide his intentions, nodding with a smile. "Smart girl, that’s exactly it. No need for more talk; let’s get going. We have a tight schedule and big tasks ahead; we need to get your strength up quickly!"
With that, he didn’t wait for Chen Rourou to react, instead pulling her back to the hotel.
Soon after, sounds of THWACK! THWACK! echoed from Zhang Beixing’s room, followed by Chen Rourou’s groans, cries, and grunts.
The noise lasted all night.
It wasn’t until seven in the morning that Chen Rourou erged from Zhang Beixing’s room, massaging her waist and limping.
"I can’t take it anymore, Uncle Zhang. You’re too fierce. Let rest for a while."
Hearing this, Zhang Beixing smacked his lips, still unsatisfied. "What do you an? I haven’t even used my full strength yet!"
"But you’re a Grandmaster!" Chen Rourou complained loudly. "How can I possibly learn all of your moves in just a few hours!"
Zhang Beixing had spent the past few hours teaching her martial arts insights and counterasures.
After such exertion, she felt completely drained.
Zhang Beixing said, "Well, alright then, I’ll let you off this ti. Go back and rest. Get up at two in the afternoon and continue your martial arts training. In the future, you’ll have to represent in battle, so your own strength needs to be up to par!"
In response, Chen Rourou was miserable beyond words, feeling that she had been thoroughly conned by Zhang Beixing.
But by this point, even if she regretted it, there was nothing she could do.
Who could she bla but herself for coming without asking for clear details?
All the suffering and sweat during her martial arts training now were the price for the foolishness that had clouded her judgnt back then!
Chen Rourou could only swallow her complaints and obediently follow Zhang Beixing’s directives to undergo martial arts training.

Seeing Chen Rourou’s martial arts proficiency and combat level significantly improve with two days of intense training, Zhang Beixing sparred with her briefly.
Once he confird that with her current strength, she could handle so of the weaker martial arts schools or styles, he ceased the training.
