Lin Feng couldn’t sleep all night. Since he got off work yesterday, he had been pondering how to handle his upcoming marriage to Ding Wan’er, how to communicate with his parents, and what to do about those won. He needed to sort everything out, and it wasn’t until after a whole night of thinking that Lin Feng finally managed to organize his thoughts.
If it had been anything else, Lin Feng wouldn’t have been so troubled. But since it was happening to him, he felt that he had to handle the matter perfectly, to do right by the many won who were involved with him. Therefore, Lin Feng took the issue very seriously.
After getting up in the morning and preparing breakfast, he waited for his parents to co downstairs, planning to discuss the wedding with Ding Wan’er. It was indeed an issue that shouldn’t be delayed any further—the necessary steps had to be taken.
It wasn’t long before Lin Yiwen and Zhang Lan ca downstairs and imdiately saw their son, who had prepared a lavish breakfast, waiting for them. They both smiled as they walked hand in hand to the dining table and took their seats.
"Son, why have you made such an abundant breakfast today?" Zhang Lan asked, surprised, as she sat down. While their son had always prepared breakfast for them, he hadn’t made this much before. What could have happened to spur such an effort?
"Mom and Dad, there’s sothing I want to talk to you about today," said Lin Feng, speaking to his parents with great seriousness. The wedding was a significant matter and required discussion with his parents. Although he had thought about how to handle it, he still needed to hear their advice.
"Son, what is it?" Lin Yiwen, noting Lin Feng’s solemn tone, picked up the conversation. Since their son returned, he hadn’t behaved as he did today. Whatever their son was about to discuss had to be crucial. Nevertheless, Lin Yiwen was curious because his son was much stronger now than before—there was hardly anything that he couldn’t handle. What then did his son need to discuss with them?
"Yes, son, what’s the matter?" Zhang Lan, seeing her son’s deanor, also grew serious and pressed him further. She was convinced nothing was too difficult for her son to handle, and only by letting him speak would they understand the situation.
"Mom and Dad, a few days ago, Elder Ding Yi ca to us asking us to carry out the wedding ceremony as soon as possible. Although we are already engaged, it wouldn’t be right not to have the wedding. After considering it, I agreed with Elder Ding’s point. He asked to discuss with you how we should proceed with the wedding ceremony," Lin Feng explained about the conversation he had had with Ding Yi, wanting to now discuss the details with his parents. He had never been married before, so of course, he didn’t know how to handle a wedding. Besides, it was always best to listen to his parents’ opinions on such matters, so he didn’t hesitate to bring it up.
"Son, that’s wonderful news! You and Ding Wan’er are already engaged, so having the wedding is normal. As for the details of the wedding, that should be discussed by the parents from both sides. It wouldn’t be proper for us to decide on our own. Let’s do this, son when we have ti, we’ll arrange for the elders from both families to et, have a al together, and discuss the wedding particulars. Son, I am thrilled at the prospect of you getting married. I’ve been looking forward to having grandchildren for so long, and now there’s hope!"
Hearing this from Lin Feng, Zhang Lan’s face imdiately lit up with joy. She had always been anxious to hold a grandchild, but she had never urged her son. Now that Ding Wan’er’s family had requested the wedding, she couldn’t be happier. After all, a ceremonial wedding with Ding Wan’er was expected since they were engaged, and her dream of having grandchildren would soon be realized.
Filled with excitent, Zhang Lan quickly thought that arranging a wedding was a matter for both families to discuss. If they decided on the specifics without the other family’s input, that would be inappropriate. Therefore, she suggested to her son that they should invite Ding Wan’er’s family for a al to talk things over.
"Wait, son, if I’m not mistaken, there’s sothing else you want to say, isn’t there?" Lin Yiwen was happy to hear that his son was going to have a wedding, but just as he was pleased, he realized a problem: his son was involved with too many won. If it were only Ding Wan’er, then, of course, he would be very happy, but at the mont, it wasn’t just Ding Wan’er by his son’s side. If his son and Ding Wan’er were to have a wedding, what about the other won? This was a problem that had to be considered.
Thinking about this, Lin Yiwen finally understood why his son had not seed excited this morning. If it were not for these won, his son’s lack of excitent would be abnormal. Therefore, the fact that his son still had not shown a hint of excitent had to indicate sothing; if he was not mistaken, what his son was about to say was the key issue.
"Son, is there anything else you want to say?" Zhang Lan was stunned by her husband’s remark and thought to herself that this was supposed to be a happy event, so why did her son have sothing else to say? What could it be? At the mont, Zhang Lan’s mind was entirely focused on the wedding preparations; she was overlooking everything else. For Zhang Lan, the most important thing was that her son, having returned to them, should start a family and have children. She didn’t want him to make any more mistakes in the future.
"Mom and Dad, I was thinking that the wedding with Ding Wan’er is easy to handle; we can do it just like Mom suggested. But as you know, it’s not just Ding Wan’er by my side; there are other won too. If I marry Ding Wan’er, the first issue is to communicate well with them. I don’t want the wedding with Ding Wan’er to hurt them."
Lin Feng thought about it and decided that it was best to be upfront and seek his parents’ advice. After all, his situation was different from others’; he had more won around him. It wasn’t really his fault; things had just turned out this way without him realizing it. He hadn’t felt it before, but now that he was facing the wedding, Lin Feng felt quite confused.
"Son, that is indeed a problem that should be considered. The other girls are also very good; you must speak to them carefully and make your situation clear. Since they are all aware of your engagent to Ding Wan’er and still chose to be with you, it shows that these girls really love you. If you talk to them properly, it shouldn’t be an issue. We were just elated and neglected to consider this aspect."
Zhang Lan, having heard what her son said, realized why he had not seed happy at all. It was because of the other won. She was too busy being delighted to think about these things. She knew so of the won around her son; they were all very good girls, and she was reluctant to let go of any of them. Additionally, she secretly hoped that her son could have many wives and concubines, so that she could have many grandchildren. That was the true joy of family for her.
After thinking it over carefully, Zhang Lan decided to speak and comfort her son. Since these girls chose to be with him despite knowing about his engagent to Ding Wan’er, it ant that they were prepared for the situation. Otherwise, they would not continue to stay by his side. Such actions were already a statent, and it was up to him to deal with the rest. No one else could help with these matters, and if nothing unexpected happened, there shouldn’t be any problems.
"Son, what does Elder Ding say about it? What is his attitude?" Lin Yiwen looked at his son and thought carefully before asking. In Lin Yiwen’s view, Elder Ding must be aware of Lin Feng’s circumstances, and there must be a reason for suggesting a wedding under these conditions. If nothing unusual happened, Elder Ding would have offered so advice, and he wanted to know Elder Ding’s reaction.
As for communicating with the other won, Lin Yiwen wasn’t worried at all. He and Zhang Lan shared the sa thought: these girls had chosen to be with their son, so they surely knew what they would face in the future. It wasn’t possible for their son to marry each of them, and if they weren’t prepared for that, they wouldn’t be with him. As long as their son spoke to the won properly, there shouldn’t be any problems.
"Elder Ding didn’t say much. What he said is true, too; the matter with Wan’er has already caused a stir throughout Tianhai, and since Wan’er was designated by my master, a formal wedding with her is inevitable. Otherwise, it would greatly affect Wan’er’s reputation and have a significant impact on Yingbo University. After all, Wan’er is a university president, so the wedding is a must. Elder Ding also said that if things hadn’t gotten to this point, Wan’er wouldn’t care about having a wedding ceremony."
"Later, Elder Ding ntioned another thing, which is to first establish Wan’er’s status by holding the wedding. With that done, arrangents for the other won would also be easier. He thinks like you do, that communicating with the other won shouldn’t be a problem, but the rest can only have wedding ceremonies in the form of family banquets, due to the circumstances. Therefore, before the wedding, the arrangents for the other won must be well planned."
Lin Feng relayed Elder Ding’s attitude and discussed other related matters, believing that since he was consulting his parents, he might as well be completely open. His parents would certainly consider things from his perspective. With their suggestions, he would be better able to arrange everything concerning the other won.
