Chapter 1798: Chapter 1793: Vulgar Fear (6)

All was silent, and the shadows of the trees were indistinct.

The old car drove into a place that wasn’t particularly remote, but the entire courtyard and building had an old-fashioned design.

Hidden among the trees, it felt increasingly dark and oppressive.

Not to ntion that at this mont, the half-moon, from this angle, was just half-obscured by the pointed roof of the house.

The light, though sowhat bright, couldn’t illuminate the dark tiles on the roof, filling the atmosphere with suspense.

In short, driving just a dozen ters off the main road felt like crashing into a horror film.

“Are you kidding?”

One of the effects it had was that Brother Fierce, with blood rushing to his head, forgot to continue his tirade, and after staring blankly for a few seconds, he shouted at Butters in a ‘are you kidding ’ tone.

Even this shout was in a lowered voice.

anwhile, up until now, Butters, who claid they had reached the destination, showed no signs of opening the car door and getting out.

“This place is so far from the road, and you’re telling you saw sothing flashing inside when you passed by? And the room you ntioned—”

Brother Fierce continued while he closely observed the position Butters pointed out as he spoke.

“Not to ntion the windows are ridiculously high; at that angle, you couldn’t possibly see from the road.”

Brother Fierce, though seemingly irritable, was also ticulous, quickly finding evidence to support himself.

In fairness, he wasn’t talking nonsense; the facts were with him.

The spot Butters pointed to was almost a blind spot from the road outside.

“You’re completely right.”

As it turned out, Butters didn’t refute at all, keeping a slight distance from Brother Fierce’s face while coldly retorting.

“But we ca here to find things that are impossible for ordinary people to see, didn’t we?”

Oh?

That statent carried a lot of weight.

While Brother Fierce was montarily speechless from Butters’ retort, Fu Qian was intrigued.

During their conversation, he wasn’t idle at all; he was already observing the surroundings carefully.

It was indeed a peculiar place, but whether what Butters said would actually happen was hard to say.

Though Butters’ words perfectly responded to Brother Fierce’s query – we ca here to find the supernatural; are you telling we shouldn’t be able to see it from the outside?

Combining it with their conversation on the road, the situation seed relatively clear.

Butters, passing by a certain ti, discovered special flashes inside this house, and that day he ca back with two friends to explore together.

Additionally, from the last scenario, it seed likely the car belonged to Mr. Wolf.

But regardless, a night, the wilderness, an abandoned house, curious youngsters—a classic recipe for recklessness.

And now the question remained about how they interpreted the “impossible things.”

“…But you didn’t ntion beforehand that it was a place like this.”

In Butters’ reasonable coback, Brother Fierce’s montum was temporarily suppressed, although he still seed dissatisfied.

“So what are you afraid of? Ghosts?

The Night Watchman clearly stated that such things don’t exist.”

Unfortunately, Butters understood the art of pressing his advantage, almost imdiately letting out a cold laugh.

“But it’s not just about ghosts; if it really involves the Transcendent, appearing in a place like this, do you think there’s no danger?”

Brother Fierce remained defiant.

“This, kind, of, place… is only a few steps from the main road.”

But Butters still responded fluently, even deliberately emphasizing the other’s words.

“If there truly were sothing dangerous, would the Night Watchman allow it to exist?”

“Though they also say the Transcendent only cares about Talent, but could there be many kinds of Talent? If we can see things others can’t, does it count?”

Straightforwardly, with tight logic, Butters’ persuasion was astonishingly convincing.

It felt as if he had secretly convinced himself countless tis before.

So they weren’t here simply for thrills, but actually seeking unexpected encounters?

Though Fu Qian hadn’t spoken, his lingering doubt was finally answered.

It was clear that Butters had ntally prepared himself sufficiently for this journey. Although his words were questioning Brother Fierce, they could have been his self-questioning, arriving at a conclusion.

And this mindset wasn’t too hard to understand.

Because normally, the existence of an organization like the Night Watchman, virtually impossible, created a special ecosystem in this world.

The Transcendents wield imnse power, enough to be called “New Gods.”

Yet ordinary people enjoy a peaceful life, maintaining a modern social system that maximally shields them from the allure of the Transcendent.

It may look that way, but who knows what people truly feel?

Unlike the world they grew up in, there were real instances fulfilling youthful fantasies of power here.

The itch caused by this fact couldn’t simply be suppressed by self-hypnosis.

It was evident Brother Fierce’s curiosity was piqued, following repeated questioning, he fell silent.

“Now the opportunity is here, how you choose is your own matter.

You can just leave, while I and Wolf go in… or you can stay and take a look, wait to see if the flash I ntioned shows up when the ti cos.”

For this reaction, Butters was visibly satisfied, not missing the chance to drive the point ho.

“So when did you last see it?”

Already seated back in his position, with his hand on the car door, Brother Fierce ultimately did not get out, silently watching outside and asking.

“What ti is it now?”

With an imposing aura, Butters finally turned to look at the other passenger.

“Seven twenty-two.”

Fu Qian, without needing to check his watch, gave him the ti imdiately.

“It should be soon. To be cautious, let’s not rush in; instead, circle around and confirm the surroundings, and decide how to open the door once we see the flash.”

The distinctly reliable suggestion visibly left Butters very satisfied, quickly making what seed like a prudent plan.

“No need.”

But in the very next second, he received a denial from Mr. Wolf, who had already opened the door and stepped out first.

This mission, was it going a bit too far?

And both people in the car were taken aback, watching a corner of the building, while Fu Qian let out a deep sigh.

Though it’s just a bit, having kept an eye on the spot Butters ntioned, he was the first to notice a strange change.

Translucent, red and blue fluorescence, like a rapidly growing patch of mushrooms, or swaying jellyfish rooted in the soil.

And the mont it ca into view, so indescribable peculiar sound began echoing in the mind.

Was restricting ability items one thing, but encountering sothing genuinely within the Transcendent realm?
