Before Irene could get angry over being called an idiot, Kabe raised his hand and made a grasping motion toward the light sphere he had thrown.
"Fuse... and bloom!"
"What?!"
A sudden sense of foreboding surged through Irene. She imdiately turned her head and looked up at the sky.
At that exact mont, the sphere of light beyond the atmosphere received its command. It swelled violently, transforming into a radiant full moon that shone brilliantly across the heavens.
"That... what is that?"
Irene stared at the full moon that absolutely should not have appeared at this ti, and her heart shook violently.
"Heh heh heh... hahaha~~"
A burst of wild laughter snapped Irene back to reality. She quickly lowered her gaze toward Kabe, who was still trapped in her claws.
"It is over. Open your eyes and look carefully. This is what a real transformation looks like."
Kabe stared up at the full moon in the sky. His upper and lower canine teeth jutted outward as he delivered his declaration of victory.
As his words fell, thick black-brown fur rapidly spread across his face, and his body began to swell at an explosive rate.
The mont Irene sensed that sothing was terribly wrong, she tightened both claws with all her might, trying to stop the change.
But unless she tore off Kabe's tail right now, or destroyed the artificial moon above them, none of this could be stopped.
Under the horrified gazes of Irene and the three girls on the ship, Kabe's body expanded like an inflated balloon.
The only pair of pants left on him finally reached its limit and burst apart under the strain.
Even Irene's dragon claws could no longer keep hold of this growing monster.
She could only watch helplessly as he transford at terrifying speed, shifting from a human into a hideous giant ape whose size was no less imnse than her own.
"ROOOAR!!!"
The giant ape threw open its bloody maw and let out an earth-shaking howl.
The sound wave, mixed with a violent surge of energy, spread outward from him in all directions.
Irene, who took the brunt of it, was blasted away like a rubber ball. She crashed upside down into the sea and even skipped absurdly across the water several tis.
As for Brandish and the others, who had thought they were already far enough away to be safe, they were caught completely off guard as the shockwave flipped their warship over on the spot.
Fortunately, Brandish reacted fast enough. She instantly shrank the warship down to the size of a palm and protected it.
But because of that, the three of them had no choice but to be blown straight into the ocean, turning into utterly soaked drowned rats.
After venting the violent savagery in his heart, the giant ape let out another beastly roar and hurled himself straight into the sea.
The impact raised waves dozens of ters high, terrifying Brandish and the others into retreating even farther away.
Not long after, the giant ape surfaced again.
His scarlet eyes swept across the world around him, but on the endless sea and sky there were clearly not many targets available for him to destroy.
That only stirred his ferocity further.
With no aim whatsoever, he opened his mouth and began firing ki blasts in every direction, venting his destructive urges upon the world.
Irene, who had been blasted several thousand ters away, flew back up from beneath the sea in a miserable state, dripping wet all over.
"What in the world is this monster?"
Her eyes were filled with shock as she looked at the giant ape, who was acting like a true beast and mindlessly bombarding everything in sight.
"That idiot actually dared to use this kind of power without even being able to control it himself."
Just as Irene was still trying to decide what to do, and whether this battle should simply end here, the giant ape in the distance suddenly noticed her, a conspicuous "big bird" hovering in the sky.
Without hesitation, he opened his mouth and fired a blast straight at her.
Seeing the red sphere of destruction shooting toward her, Irene's heart clenched. She hurriedly beat her wings and dodged to the side.
The blast flew past where she had just been. There was no telling where it went, and only after a long while did a distant explosion echo back from sowhere far beyond the horizon.
But Irene had no mind left to care about where the blast had landed.
She stared in disbelief as the giant ape slowly began to rise off the surface of the sea.
Her entire dragon body felt unwell.
"You have got to be kidding . That thing is that huge, and it can still fly?!"
Even though she could not understand it, the giant ape was already wrapped in a crimson aura, flying rapidly toward her.
There was no ti to think.
Gritting her teeth, Irene charged straight at him in return.
'It is just a brainless ape.
And I am one of the beings standing at the absolute peak of this world's power.
There is no way I can lose!!!'
Carrying that unwavering conviction, the distance between them closed at astonishing speed. In the blink of an eye, they were right on top of each other.
Just as Irene lowered her head, baring her dragon horns, ready to impale this bastard to death in a single strike...
The giant ape narrowed his eyes and suddenly spoke.
"You fell for it, Irene!!"
As he said that, Kabe flipped through the air right before Irene's stunned eyes, landed on her back, and locked both arms around her dragon neck like reins.
"You bastard, you were pretending to lose control! Let go this instant!!"
Irene scread and struggled desperately to throw him off, but to Kabe, her resistance felt weaker than a kitten's.
Once he had ridden her all the way up near the edge of the atmosphere, Kabe twisted the "steering wheel" and sent her plunging nose-first through the clouds below.
"Ultimate move: Crow Sits on the Plane!!!"
"Eh, wait, wait, wait! At this height, even a dragon would die!!!"
